WITH REVENGE - Driver K Marshall was questioned regarding his decision to shift out off the leader's back near the 1600 metres which resulted in the mare then being obliged to race without cover for the remainder of the event. Mr Marshall explained that it had been decided to go forward early as WITH REVENGE is one paced and races best in a forward position. He further stated that he elected to challenge for the lead when the pace eased passing the 1600 metres, but driver J Curtin (DRUM BEAT) had made it apparent that he intended to remain in the lead. He further stated that he then desisted in his attempt for the lead, when he realised Mr Curtin's intentions and was happy to remain without cover for the remainder of the race, a position the mare had raced well in before. Mr Marshall also added he was disappointed with the run and felt that the mare had not backed up from the first day run. Stewards noted his comments.
OHOKA BANDIT - Driver B Orange advised that only one deafener activated.
