Driver M Anderson (ALREADY GONE) defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 350 metres when shifting outwards resulting in SAGANO breaking and losing its chance. After viewing the films and hearing evidence from M Anderson, driver K Butt and Stewards, the JCA found the charge proved and suspended Mr Anderson's licence from the conclusion of racing on 9 February up to and including 16 February 2020 (3 days).

Race 1   CAVALIER TROTTING PRODUCTS - NORTH CANTERBURY TROTTING TROT
RASTUSBURN - broke at the start.
ABADABADO - trainer R Holmes was issued a warning for presenting ABADABADO with removable deafeners which had not been notified.
MENTALIST - weakened final bend. Driver L O'Reilly was cautioned for the manner in which he drove near the 1800 metres when IT WASN'T ME became awkwardly placed behind his sulky.
ZSAHARA - trotted roughly in the home straight and had to be steadied.
RAIN MIST AND MUSCLE - held up final bend.
GOTTA TICKET - broke near the 2000 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
I'VE GOT ATTITUDE - slow to begin and got a long way back as a result. Trotted roughly at various stages during the running. Weakened from near the 900 metres.
JUST ONE MORE - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Hung inwards throughout the run home and had to be steadied.
BACARDI PRIDE - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
KEN'S DREAM - weakened near the 500 metres.
TYENE - lay outwards in the run home.
IT WASN'T ME - raced wide early stages. Raced fiercely near the 1800 metres and became awkwardly placed on the sulky of MENTALIST. Continued to over-race throughout.
Race 2   HSW ACCOUNTANTS - PROMED EDGEWARE DOCTORS PACE
UNO MIA - when questioned regarding the improved performance, the connections advised the mare had been unlucky in her previous two starts and had been working well leading up to today.
CAMBIRE - began awkwardly.
MEGAROCK - over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend.
BUDVAR EYRE - broke at the start and ducked out abruptly hampering outside runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BLUE CHIP DELIGHT - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
ATTACHE - broke at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend. Broke again near the 600 metres.
OFFTHEBENCH - broke racing around the first bend hampering a trailing runner. Driver J Cox reported the gelding cast a shoe when in a break.
CHAL BE - raced wide early and middle stages. Weakened final bend.
Race 3   RANGIORA NEW WORLD - COUNTRY FEASTS LTD MOBILE PACE
SHOT IN THE DARK - checked near the 250 metres by a breaking runner.
SAGINAW - lay inwards and paced roughly before breaking near the 250 metres checking outside runners. Stood down pending one satisfactory trial.
STAR PAIGE - hampered near the 250 metres by a breaking runner.
DONEGAL CARNBOUY - over-raced middle stages when being restrained to obtain cover. Held up final bend.
GARRY'S LEGACY - hampered near the 250 metres by a breaking runner.
FUTURA EASTON - raced wide early stages. Weakened from the 800 metres. When questioned regarding the performance, driver R Close reported that the gelding had worked hard in the early stages however had raced lethargically once improving to the parked position and had been disappointing. Mr Close added he would be recommending blinds be added to the gelding's gear for future racing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
MARKHAM EYRE - hampered near the 250 metres by a breaking runner.
FRANCO RIOT - raced wide into the first bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
KAYLA MAGUIRE - held up final bend and early stages of the run home.

PRINCE TEKA - broke at the start. Held up early stages of the run home.
RED HARBOUR - held up early stages of the run home.
AMULET - broke at the start hampering DORA EXPLORER and locked wheels for a short distance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of the connections.
DORA EXPLORER - hampered by a breaking runner at the start and locked wheels for a short distance. Weakened from the 600 metres. When questioned regarding the performance, trainer/driver D McCormick advised that after being checked in the early stages the mare had lost concentration and failed to improve into the race.
MIDNIGHT ASSASSIN - broke at the start. Lay out throughout the run home. When questioned regarding the performance, co-trainer/driver C DeFilippi advised he was disappointed with the gelding's effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
TEQUILA SUNSET - broke at the start. Trotted roughly before breaking near the 700 metres.
SMUDGEE - held up early stages of the run home.
BLINK N BONES - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. When questioned regarding the performance, trainer/driver B Ford advised that after being hampered at the start the gelding had got too far back in the field and was unable to improve due to the shorter distance of today's race.

RUBY'S A DELIGHT - slightly out of position at the start.
FRAUD - held up final bend.
POCKET ROCKNROLL - slightly out of position at the start. Raced wide into the first bend. Weakened final bend.
SHADOW AVEROSS - over-raced middle stages.
Race 6   CLARKVILLE STOCKFEEDS LTD MOBILE PACE
VIOLET KNIGHT - paced roughly near the 1800 metres when placed in restricted room. Locked wheels with PICTURE ME racing into the first bend. Raced wide early stages.

HE'S AFLYIN - raced wide into the first bend. Lay inwards throughout the run home.
PICTURE ME - raced greenly when being shifted outwards near the 1800 metres placing outside runner in restricted room. Driver T Williams was warned for the manner in which he drove when shifting ground. Locked wheels with VIOLET KNIGHT racing into the first bend. Paced roughly near the 150 metres.
TICKING OVER - paced roughly near the 300 metres. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
CONQUISTADOR - cleared from the unruly for mobile starts.
Race 7   STEVIE GOLDING REAL ESTATE THANKS RACING CLIENTS MOBILE PACE
CHLOE'S JOY - lay outwards throughout the run home. When questioned regarding the improved performance, the connections advised that the mare had not handled the trip away to Blenheim however had been working well since returning home.
MALINKA - held up late in the run home. Driver J Curtin advised the deafeners were not released in consequence.
PRECIOUS SARA - held up final bend.
YOHA - broke briefly near the 1800 metres. Raced wide early stages.
SONIC REIGN - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up early stages of the run home.
HES FAST AND FURIOUS - when questioned regarding the improved performance, the connections advised the gelding had received an economical trip today and was able to benefit from saving ground on the final bend.
GIVEMEWHATINEED - there was a delay to the start when GIVEMEWHATINEED kicked out and became entangled in its gear. Underwent and passed a pre-race veterinary examination.
AMERICAN FLYER - broke early in the score up however was in position at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
POCKET CALL - paced roughly final bend.
HONOUR SCROLL - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 8   RANGIORA EQUINE SERVICES AMBERLEY CUP (HCP PACE)
HOMEBUSH LAD - paced roughly on several occasions in the home straight.
ONLY IN AMERICA - trainer M DeFilippi was issued a warning for presenting ONLY IN AMERICA with the incorrect colours. Broke at the start.
GO DAVEY - tangled away.
AROCKNATTHEPARK - tangled away.
BE MINE TONIGHT - broke at the start. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Over-raced early stages until being taken forward near the 1850 metres. Weakened final bend.
AVEROSS RUSTLER - broke at the start.
RAH DE RAH - held up final bend.
SMARTER VC - broke shortly after the start. Hung outwards around the first bend.
CAST NO SHADOW - paced roughly in the home straight.

MY EYRE - held up early stages of the run home.
IN SEQUENCE - broke near the 2000 metres and briefly raced inside the pylons.
THE BLOSS - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
ALI LINDENNY - held up early in the run home.
MR FAHRENHEIT - broke racing into the first bend. Held up throughout the run home.
BAXTER - broke at the start. Held up throughout the home straight.
MEDUSA - began awkwardly and shifted up the track. Held up throughout the run home. Driver K Cameron advised the deafeners were not released in consequence.
OVERZEALOUS - a false start was declared when OVERZEALOUS breasted the 30 metre barrier strand. When questioned regarding this, driver P Davis advised the mare had been fractious in the pre-race circle. Notwithstanding this Mr Davis was warned to take greater care to avoid contacting the barrier strand. Trotted roughly racing over the crossing near the 1600 metres. Lay inwards under pressure early in the run home.
PRES THE BELLE - driver T Williams advised the deafeners were not released due to having the field covered.
Following this race the track was downgraded to dead.

ROCKNROLL MAX - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
GEORGIE ZUKOV - broke near the 150 metres when being restrained after becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of CLIVE hampering an outside runner.
