Race 2 - ALLAN HAHN CONTRACTING TROT
Driver M Anderson (GOTTA TICKET) defended a charge issued under Rule 870(1) in that he failed to immediately take all reasonable steps to return the horse to its correct gait through the early stages of the race. After viewing replays and hearing the evidence from Stewards and Mr Anderson, the JCA upheld the charge and imposed a fine of $250.

Race 6 - WOODLANDS STUD THANKS 2019/2020 BREEDERS MOBILE PACE
Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 30 January that blood tests taken from TAXMAN revealed no abnormalities, adding that the gelding has worked well this week.
Race 8 - NZ BLOODSTOCK STANDARDBRED YEARLING SALES 17-19 FEB MOB PACE
Trainer M Purvis advised Stewards on 27 January that MAMMA KNOWS BEST has been sent for a brief spell, during which time the mare will receive treatment aimed at lessening the effects of seasonal complaints that have affected her for some time.

Race 5 - CHRIS JONES - BAYLEYS REAL ESTATE TROT
Trainer J Clementson advised Stewards on 30 January that after the race at Motukarara last Sunday it was discovered that SCARLETT LANE was in season which in his opinion explained the disappointing performance. Mr Clementson added that the mare had switched off after receiving a check and he would be adding a pacifier to her gear for the Orari engagement on Saturday.

BURST OUT LAUGHING - weakened final bend.
RAH DE RAH - paced roughly shortly after the start. Raced wide early stages. Weakened final bend.
SPELLBOUND - raced wide early stages. Over-raced through the middle stages when racing in the parked position. Driver J Dunn reported the filly to have been making contact with its sulky wheels throughout.
MOSSDALE ART - co-trainers G & N Hope were issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting MOSSDALE ART without the notified anti-choke device with this gear having to be applied at the start. Improved wide rounding the final bend.

UNIQUE ROSE - weakened final bend.
JUSTAN'S SISTER - struck several pylons rounding the final bend when weakening. Trotted roughly in the home straight.
MONRIKA - trotted roughly through the middle stages.
RUM IN THE SUN - examined by the Veterinarian following the race and was found to have a case of the thumps for which treatment was to be administered.
ONE OVER DA SON - raced wide early stages.
ONE APOLLO - out of position at the candy pole. Raced wide early stages.
MAJESTIC MANNEQUIN - held up final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
DOFF YOUR CAP - broke for a short distance entering the final straight. The all clear was delayed until it was established the gelding had not been in breach of the Breaking Horse Regulations.
MAJESTIC HURRICANE - broke in the score up losing all chance.

SENORITA MARGARITA - held up by a weakening runner on the final bend.
THE GOVERNOR - weakened final bend.
ONLY IN AMERICA - checked by a breaking runner near the 600 metres.
DOCTOR TIM - checked by a breaking runner near the 600 metres.
THE MAROON MARAUDER - raced fiercely through the middle stages causing driver K Tomlinson some difficulty.
HELD TO RANSOM - out of position at the start. Driver J Alford was issued a warning. Shifted inwards abruptly after 200 metres and made strong contact with ELO LOUISE which was checked. As a result of this impact HELD TO RANSOM broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Driver J Alford (assisted by J Cox) admitted a charge which alleged he was careless and after penalty submissions, the JCA suspended his licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 20 February 2020 (4 days).
ELO LOUISE - shifted outwards near the 600 metres checking GLENTHORNE. Driver M Hurrell (assisted by J Cox) admitted a charge alleging he had driven carelessly at this time and after hearing penalty submissions, the JCA suspended his licence from the conclusion of racing on 2 February up to and including 11 February 2020 (4 days).
GLENTHORNE - checked and broke near the 600 metres losing its chance.
MELTON REACTOR - trainer A Edge was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting MELTON REACTOR without the notified removable deafeners. Broke in the score up losing considerable ground. Stood down pending one satisfactory mobile trial. Over-raced in the middle stages. Hung inwards from the 1400 metres causing driver B Laughton considerable difficulty before being retired from the race passing the 800 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 4   SBSR ON NZB STANDARDBRED FOR VIDEOS & PEDIGREES HCP TROT
WAR ADMIRAL - trotted roughly passing the 1600 metres for a short distance.
GREAT THINGS HAPPEN - trotted roughly final bend. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance, trainer/driver G Smith advised the gelding had not appreciated the early tempo of the race from its 30 metres handicap however despite this had still been disappointed with its efforts over the final stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high respiratory rate with an endoscopic exam failing to detect any abnormalities. Mr Smith advised he would give consideration to having the horse further examined in the coming days.
Race 5   SBSR FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK MOBILE PACE
MOSSMAN - raced keenly in the early stages proving difficult for driver J Cox and because of this combined with an easing of the pace, the colt became awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of J R BROMAC for some time near the 1300 metres.
MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR - raced wide early stages. Raced roughly and hung inwards leaving the final bend crowding an inside runner. Held up for clear racing room late in the run home.
GOTTA C TINTIN - hampered on the bend near the 250 metres.
J R BROMAC - over-raced through the middle stages.
CHASE THE HAT TRICK - trainer K Chapman was warned for failing to notify the gelding would be racing without the removable deafeners. Raced wide early stages. Held up final bend and for the majority of the home straight.
TERRY - held up final bend and for the majority of the home straight.
SAMARIAS MACH - held up for clear racing room late in the run home. Driver J Dunn advised that due to this the deafeners were not released.
MATAU MEG - broke near the 1400 metres after a slight easing of the pace.
Race 6   SBSR VISIT HRNZ WEB BANNER FOR YEARLING VIDEOS MOBILE TROT
MONARO MAKO - trotted roughly in the early stages. Lost contact with the field approaching the 700 metres when trotting roughly. Broke near the 150 metres.
MEXICANA - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after falling to the track when the gear was being attended to and was cleared to start. Held up final bend and hung outwards. Briefly disappointed for clear racing room near the 50 metres. Driver T Williams reported he would be recommending gear changes.
ROYAL DEL - hung inwards throughout the run home despite the efforts of C DeFilippi. Shifted into the passing lane near the 50 metres which briefly caused MEXICANA (T Williams) to be disappointed for clear racing room. Stewards lodged a protest against 2nd placing and after viewing the replays and hearing evidence from both drivers, the JCA dismissed the protest.
CROWN RANGE - back from the unruly position at the start.
Race 7   GARRARDS PREMIER MARES CHAMPIONSHIP (MOBILE PACE)
SWEET MARY - hung inwards through the early stages. Held up for clear racing room over the concluding stages.
IVANA FLYBYE - held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
I'MALLABOUTTHEBASE - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to the rear of the field. Continued to over-race until near the 1200 metres.
SOCIABLE - held up for clear racing room over the concluding stages.
ENCHANTEE - there was a delay to the start when the mare required a sulky change. Raced wide from the 1300 metres.
WAINUI CREEK - held up final bend.
BETTOR'S HEART - raced wide early stages.
KENDRA - held up throughout the home straight.

EUREKA - held up final bend.

STUN GUN - over-raced early stages when being restrained to the rear of the field. Hung inwards throughout the home straight.
BETTATHANFAST - pre-race warmed. Over-raced middle stages.

TEHORO DAZZLE - broke at the start.
CLYDE - trotted roughly in the home straight.
FRANCO JOSIAH - broke shortly after the start. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 300 metres and broke.
B D YASOTHON - crowded at the start. Driver M Anderson advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
HONEYS SON - broke at the start.
AMULET - trotted roughly in the early stages and broke soon after the start.
JAW D NANCY - broke near the 400 metres.
UNIQUE MARSHALL - weakened from the 600 metres.
MEKONG PRINCESS - trotted roughly in the early stages and got back as a result. Hampered by a breaking runner final bend.

Race 10   SBSR DIAMOND CREEK GROUP 2 CLASSIC - 26 APRIL MOBILE PACE
IDEOLOGIST - weakened leaving the final bend and in doing so sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 250 metres.
SWELL TIME - broke near the 50 metres.
DISTINGUISHED TASTE - over-raced and hung outwards through the middle stages. Held up by a weakening runner on the final bend and near the 250 metres made contact with the sulky wheel of IDEOLOGIST. Stewards spoke with driver K Barron who advised his gelding had raced greenly throughout and it was his intention to remove the murphy blind and affix a different style of tongue tie after today's had come loose. Notwithstanding the issues he encountered Mr Barron was issued with a warning for attempting a run to the inside of IDEOLOGIST near the 250 metres where there was not sufficient room.
PRINCE ART - trainer M Smolenski was warned for being late to notify the gelding would be racing with removable deafeners. Hung outwards through the middle stages.
SCARED STIFF - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Driver T Chmiel advised he did not activate the removable deafeners.
CLOUD NINE - raced wide early stages. Driver B Orange was issued with a warning for using his whip outside the sulky confines.
FUN IN THE DARK - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
SKIPPERLAND - trainer T Bagrie was cautioned for presenting SKIPPERLAND without the notified blinds which had to be fitted at the start. Removed from the unruly for mobile starts.
