Trainer S Dolan was fined $1500 by the JCA after admitting a breach of Rule 1001(1)(k) in that he supplied Stewards with false and misleading information relating to the training regime of his horse TALL POPPY. In addition to this, Mr Dolan was fined $50 for failing to lodge a Horse Movement Notification. |

Junior Driver B Hope (assisted by J Dunn) defended a charge under Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations when driving MOSSDALE ART. After viewing replays and hearing from all parties, the JCA found the charge proved and Mr Hope's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 19 January up to and including 2 February 2020 (7 days). |

Stewards questioned driver S Tomlinson regarding the tactics she adopted near the 700 metres when electing not to improve her position three wide ahead of MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR. Miss Tomlinson advised that her horse had raced without cover through the early stages and had been over-racing when being restrained to trail the improving PICTURE ME. Miss Tomlinson added that she anticipated PICTURE ME would take her into the race however once she had been covered by the improving MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR, PICTURE ME had commenced to give ground rapidly resulting in her being badly held up. After hearing from Miss Tomlinson, Stewards took the matter no further. | |
