Race 10 - JAN 26TH GRASS TRACK RACING AT ROTORUA MOBILE PACE
Co-Trainer M White advised Stewards on 18 January that CLASS REBEL has improved with its run at Cambridge on 11 January and will continue its preparation at Rotorua next weekend. Mr White added that the gelding will be driven more conservatively if circumstances permit.
Trainer P Fleming advised Stewards on 18 January that TOMMY TAHI had recovered well since its disappointing performance which Mr Fleming attributed to the gelding getting its tongue over the bit and that he would be continuing with the current preparation with a view to racing at the upcoming Manawatu meeting.

Race 1   HAPPY 30TH DAVE BRANCH FROM THE CR TEAM MOBILE PACE
SIGNSEELDELIVER - placed in restricted room briefly racing into the first turn.
NEW FRONTIER - raced three wide early.
COMEDY ACT - paced roughly over the early stages. Paced roughly again when under pressure near the 100m.
BANKERS GOLD - paced unevenly in the latter stages of the score up. Held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
SPORTNGOODTIME - held up early and middle stage of the run home.
MILITARY MAN - raced three wide early and trailed on the outer from the 1600m but only battled over the final stages finishing in 4th place beaten 7.1L.
ROUGH AND READY - placed in restricted room briefly racing into the first turn. Driver S Phelan reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MOZZARELLA - slow early from the unruly position. Weakened final stages.
Race 2   DUNSTAN HORSE FEEDS MOBILE PACE
THE BATMOBILE - over-raced middle stages when trailing on the outer.
CLIFTON FLUTTER - raced three wide early before being improved to race outside the leader near the 1700m.
A BETTER DANCER - Driver C Wigg admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) on the grounds that she drove carelessly passing the 600m when shifting inwards when not sufficiently clear of BETTER THAN MOST which contacted the sulky wheel of A BETTER DANCER. The JCA imposed a fine of $250.00.
COUNT LANDECK - Driver W Rich was questioned regarding an incident near the 1800m where COUNT LANDECK paced roughly after having been shifted inwards by A BETTER DANCER. Mr Rich explained that he had conceded the position but his runner had lay outwards and picked up the sulky wheel of A BETTER DANCER with its off hind.
VANHALEM - Trainer C Sharpe was cautioned for being late arriving on course. Over-raced when being restrained shortly after the start.
Race 3   BLACK DOG FURNITURE MOBILE PACE
LADY AMEERA - Trainer P Green was cautioned for being late arriving on course.
FORWARDY - underwent a veterinary examination prior to the start after a small amount of blood was detected at the gelding's mouth and was cleared to race. Paced roughly shortly after the start.
SAMPAN - raced three wide with cover from the 1200m.
BLAKE - raced three wide without cover from the 1200m.
Race 4   AMBER GARDEN CENTRE MOBILE PACE
MIGHTY MONICA - showed early gate speed before trailing the leader throughout but was under pressure on the final turn and weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Driver S Phelan stated that the mare was not suited by the strong tempo throughout today's event.
MOLLY DOOKER - broke at the start losing ground and settled at the rear. A final warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners record. Held up rounding the final turn.
MCDAKNIFE - held up rounding the final turn.
Race 5   VIANDS BAKERY MOBILE PACE
IDEAL AGENT - lay out late in the score up and over the early stages.
PEKESON - held up final turn.
MAC'S TOMADO - held up final turn.
J BEE - paced roughly in the score up.
OUR WICKLOW - broke in the score up but recovered to take up its unruly position prior to the start.
Race 6   HARCOURTS TE AWAMUTU 2020 WAIPA TROTTERS CUP (HCP)
GREAT FANTASY - swung inwards as the barriers were released.
THE LAST GAMBLE - weakened inside the final 500m.
BATTLE COMMANDER - reluctant to turn to face the barrier prior to the start.
ANNA KATE - lay in passing the 200m.
ALDEBARAN BONNY - broke entering the first turn and trailed the field throughout.
GERSHWIN - broke shortly after the start and trailed the field throughout. Broke again briefly near the 1600m.
THE HULK - commenced to improve forward three wide from the 1300m before crossing to race outside the leader passing the 800m. Momentarily placed in restricted room passing the 200m when weakening. When questioned regarding the performance Driver S Abernethy stated that the gelding had been required to work too hard during the middle stages to obtain the position outside the leader.
Race 7   BROWN & PENNELL 2020 WAIPA PACERS CUP (HCP)
The start was delayed briefly when the field were turned away by the Starter due to several runners having become fractious when being called forward at the first attempt.
BUGALUGS - broke shortly after the start losing several lengths. Held up final turn.
MACH LITTLE SOAKY - over-raced middle stages and again briefly on the final turn.
ACE STRIKE - raced three wide early after unsuccessfully attempting to secure a position in the one out running line entering the first turn.
IMAJOLLYWALLY - successfully maintained a position in the one out running line entering the first turn. Locked wheels briefly with MISTER HARRIS approaching the 900m. Held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
MISTER HARRIS - commenced to improve three wide from the 1000m before laying in locking wheels briefly with IMAJOLLYWALLY. Forced four wide passing the 700m.
PARKER - raced four then three wide over the middle stages before being improved to race outside the leader at the 1200m.
Race 8   WAIDE CONSTRUCTION MOBILE PACE
SARANDON - skied its head shortly after the start when being restrained.
ANAM NUNU - paced roughly entering the home straight the final time when at the rear.
CHARLOTTE ROYAL - raced three wide early.
OLIVIA RACHEL - raced keenly when trailing on the outer during the middle stages.
Race 9   SEE YOU AT ROTORUA NEXT SUNDAY HANDICAP TROT
CEPHEUS - broke at the start and trailed the field. The gelding was placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
REIGN - broke shortly after the start losing its chance. The gelding was placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
DANKE - broke the offside spreader during the running. The gear was inspected and found to be in satisfactory condition.
PRETORIUS - broke racing around the first bend. Broke again approaching the 300m when taking evasive action to avoid a breaking runner.
TOPNOTCH TITAN - broke approaching the 300m losing its chance.
