SEQUEL - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke near the the 500 metres hampering trailing runners.
GOTTA TICKET - broke at the crossing with 2200 metres to run. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 500 metres.
LITTLE MISS - broke after 150 metres losing all chance.
AWAPUNI - broke at the start. Broke again after 150 metres losing all chance.
ZSAHARA - trotted roughly in the home straight.

MAXIMILIAN - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
GOING FOR GOLD - broke briefly in the score up however was able to take up its allocated position at the start. Broke and shifted inwards abruptly as the start was effected checking inside runners and lost all chance. Driver B Orange reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre in this incident. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
SPECIALE UNO - held up in the early stages of the run home.
GENELIS - held up throughout the home straight.
SCOTLYNN BEACH BOY - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
CHALBERG - briefly hampered in the score up. Checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
MR SIMPLY THE BEST - over-raced in the early stages. Hung inwards on the final bend and continued to pace roughly in the home straight.
Race 3   DUNSTAN FEEDS / WAIRAU COVERS TROT
ROCKNPOP - the connections advised that this mare would be racing in foal. Held up until late in the run home.
ONE OVER DOVER - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Broke near the 100 metres.
BRIGHT GLOW - hung inwards and broke after 150 metres. Held up in the early stages of the run home.
SALLY LINDENNY - broke at the start. Broke at the crossing passing the 2200 metres. Broke with 450 metres to run.
PACINO - broke at the crossing passing the 2200 metres.
BLINK N BONES - raced wide in the early stages. Held up early stages of the run home.
MAJESTIC ACTION - trotted roughly and over-raced throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be showing signs of muscle tie-up.
PRINCE TEKA - held up for the majority of the home straight.
ALI LINDENNY - when questioned regarding the performance of the mare driver B Orange expressed disappointment and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be showing signs of muscle tie-up.
SUNNY BILL - over-raced in the middle stages. Driver T Williams reported that the gelding had been striking its sulky wheels throughout.
MY EYRE - over-raced approaching the 1300 metres and shifted outwards when becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky wheel of MAJESTIC ACTION. Raced wide without cover from the 1300 metres.
MADAM SASS - briefly forced four wide near the 1300 metres when racing to the outside of MY EYRE.
Race 4   SPEIGHTS MOBILE PACE
MYANMAR PRINCE - paced roughly final bend.
NIZZARDA FRANCO - held up final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. Broke with 100 metres to run. A final warning was placed on the racing record of this mare.
LOOK SHARP - driver S O'Reilly was struck by a pylon that had been dislodged near the 900 metres.
HE'S AFLYIN - raced wide early stages.
J R BROMAC - raced wide early stages. Hung inwards and struck a pylon which was dislodged near the 900 metres.
DIXIE REIGN - raced wide early stages. Held up in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
MIDNIGHT IN MEMPHIS - paced roughly on the final bend and in the home straight. Driver J Cox reported that spreaders would be added to the gelding's gear for Sunday's engagement.
JAKE - broke briefly in the early stages of the score up.
SA FACT - broke racing into the first bend checking trailing runners. Junior driver G Thornley (assisted by C Thornley) defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that she drove carelessly when striking the sulky wheel of JAKE. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions from all parties the JCA found the charge proven and suspended Miss Thornley's licence from the conclusion of racing on 19 January up to and including 1 February 2020 (3 days).

UNCLE DREW - hampered by breaking runners near the 900 metres.
OMAR SHARIF - trainer J Miller was issued with a warning after presenting the gelding without the notified blinds. Broke in the early stages checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of this gelding. Hung inwards on various occasions. Weakened final bend.
ALL NUTS N BOLTS - weakened final bend. When spoken to regarding the disappointing performance driver B Orange was at a loss to explain the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer D Pearce advised Stewards that he would be withdrawing the gelding from the second day and have his own veterinarian examine the horse in the coming days. Stewards will follow up the results with Mr Pearce.

GIN RUMMY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2200 metres.
CHIEF OF STAFF - broke with 350 metres to run.
GRAND PRINCESS - broke racing over the crossing with 2200 metres to run before switching to a pace losing its chance. Driver K Tomlinson reported that the mare cast a front shoe while in a break.
BAXTER - broke at the start. Trotted roughly near the 300 metres hampering AMARETTO SUN. Continued to trot roughly when being driven out in the home straight.
OVERZEALOUS - over-raced in the middle stages. Lay inwards throughout the run home.
HEAVYWEIGHT HERO - hung outwards through the middle stages when leading. Driver B Butt advised that he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
AMARETTO SUN - briefly hampered with 300 metres to run.
Race 7   GROVE TAVERN MOBILE PACE
LILAC STAR - when questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer D Taylor advised that the mare had been freshened since training off at the end of last month and today benefited from a favourable barrier draw.
EMMERSYN LEE - held up final bend and in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
KAYLA MAGUIRE - raced wide around the first bend. Checked near the 700 metres losing ground.
MARTIN JOHN - raced wide around the first bend.
CHLOE'S JOY - raced wide around the first bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised that the mare had been inclined to over-race throughout and lost momentum when hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend.
GIVEMEWHATINEED - raced wide early and middle stages.
SCELTA UNO - held up for clear racing room until late in the run home.
SHEZSOMETHINSPECIAL - over-raced early stages. Broke when racing over the crossing with 600 metres to run.
STAR REACTOR - raced wide early and middle stages. Paced roughly when racing over the crossing with 600 metres to run.
SONIC REIGN - back slightly at the start after being slow to leave the pre-race formation. Over-raced in the middle stages.
LA BELLA VITA - over-raced early stages. Hampered by a breaking runner final bend. Cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts. Driver B Weaver admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 700 metres when shifting ground inwards checking KAYLA MAGUIRE with the hearing adjourned until Sunday 19 January 2020.

HOMEBUSH LAD - paced roughly and hung inwards in the home straight.
FRANCO GARRETT - trainer S McRae was issued with a warning after presenting the gelding with the incorrect number.
HAYDEN'S MEDDLE - broke at the start losing all chance.
GO DAVEY - trainer D Taylor was issued with a warning after presenting the gelding without the notified blinds.
ONE DIRECTION - broke at the crossing with 600 metres to run.
STARS TONIGHT - paced roughly in the home straight.
YORKSHIRE - broke at the start losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of the connections.

FLETCH - a false start was declared after the gelding broke in the score up checking a trailing runner. Driver J Morrison elected to remain in his position for the restart. A warning was placed on the barrier record of this gelding. Paced roughly in the score up of the restart. Again paced roughly near the 500 metres. Broke near the 300 metres.
IFYOUSAYSO - broke at the restart losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MAJORCA - checked by a breaking runner near the 1100 metres.
THAT ALEXANDER GUY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1100 metres.

Hung inwards and broke over the concluding stages and continued in a break over the finish line. Stewards lodged a protest against the 5th placed GLEN ELGIN TOMSON under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horse Regulations alleging the horse broke in excess of 50 metres in the final 200 metres of the race. Driver B Orange elected not to contest the protest and GLEN ELGIN TOMSON was disqualified by the JCA.
JAZELLE - raced wide into the first bend. Broke when leading passing the 1100 metres checking trailing runners. Driver J Cox reported the mare had broken after he had activated the hopple shorteners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
CHEDDAR VALLEY - broke briefly racing into the first bend. Held up final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
