Driver M Edmonds (CHIVASION) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations and was fined $300 by the JCA.

Race 1   HOUSTON MOTORS / NJ BUSINESS SERVICES MOBILE PACE
POCKET ROCKNROLL - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight. Driver J Dunn reported he did not activate the hopple shorteners due to the mare pacing fluently.
ROCKNROLL MAMA - hung inwards in the score up and paced roughly. Again paced roughly in the home straight.
DIXIE REIGN - paced roughly near the 1400 metres when being restrained to obtain cover.
Race 2   ALLAN HAHN CONTRACTING TROT
ILSAS SON - broke at the start. Trotted roughly on several occasions during the running.
SHES SO RIGHT - broke at the start. Weakened final bend.
GOTTA TICKET - fractious prior to the start. Paced at the start before being checked into a break by its driver after 150 metres. Driver M Anderson defended a breach of Rule 870(1) in that he failed to immediately take all reasonable steps to return the horse to its correct gait through the early stages of the race. This matter was adjourned by the JCA sine die.
MONO GAMBLE - broke rounding the first bend. Broke again near the 1600 metres. Stood down pending one satisfactory trial.
DREAMSINTHE MIST - trotted roughly in the home straight. When spoken to regarding the performance driver B Orange could offer no explanation.
RAIN MIST AND MUSCLE - hung-outwards in the run home.
HALFWAY THERE - broke after 200 metres. Broke again near the 1200 metres.
JAY BEE AND LOU - slow in the early stages. Trotted roughly in the home straight.
MAKE MY SUNDON - raced keenly through the early and middle stages.
ILSAS SON - broke at the start. Trotted roughly throughout.
PEAK AGAIN - broke after 200 metres losing all chance.
Race 3   DAVID & JAN BIRDLING SPORTS TRUST PACE
MARK O'RONGA - fractious prior to the start. Broke shortly after the start.
CAMBIRE - when spoken to regarding the performance trainer/driver G Smith advised he was disappointed with the effort, and in his opinion the gelding had failed to back-up from the first day run.
UNO MIA - tangled away.
LIVING DELIGHT - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 4   CLUB WAIMEA MOBILE PACE
JIMMY ARMA - paced roughly in the score up and through the early stages. Broke racing into the first bend hampering a trailing runner.
HE'S AFLYIN - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Hung inwards on the final bend and in the home straight.
PRODIGAL PETE - broke and shifted outwards racing into the first bend after the near front hopple carrier broke resulting in trailing runners being checked. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously satisfactory condition.
MR SIMPLY THE BEST - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend and broke.
DIDJASEETHAT - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
KENYA - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
TAUMALOLO - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend and broke.
Race 5   HARDY'S BAR & TAB MOBILE PACE
DONEGAL CARNBOUY - over-raced middle stages.
ALL NUTS N BOLTS - raced wide early stages. Weakened from near the 600 metres after racing in the parked position. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange explained that the horse had raced lethargically and had been unwilling to cross to the front. Mr Orange added he would be recommending alterations to the horse's training regime prior to its next start. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MY NIKAYLA - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke again near the 1000 metres.
KACIE CULLEN - held up early stages of the run home.
Race 6   FRUITFED MOBILE PACE
HANDS UP JACK - broke at the 1100 metres checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver J Cox reported the horse had jumped a mark on the track.
GIVEMEWHATINEED - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1100 metres.
KANSAS CITY JIM - checked near the 1100 metres.
SHEZSOMETHINSPECIAL - raced wide in the early stages.
CANSTAR - raced wide in the early stages. When spoken to regarding the performance trainer/driver T Chmiel advised he was disappointed with the effort and would have blood tests taken from the horse in the coming days. Stewards will follow-up the results with Mr Chmiel.
ROCKAHULA JOE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1100 metres. Improved wide rounding the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver S Ottley could offer no explanation and had been disappointed with the effort.
SHEELASINLEAGUE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S Tomlinson. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Checked and broke near the 1100 metres.
Race 7   FASTTRACK $2.5K ADDED STAKE HANDICAP TROT
I DREAM OF JEANNIE - broke leaving the final bend.
UNIQUE ROSE - weakened final bend.
MY EYRE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
MIDNIGHT DASH - shifted outwards abruptly late in the run home hampering an outside runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
LOOK BOTH WAYS - trotted roughly at the start. Broke near the 450 metres. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
IDLE STUARTIA - broke at the start losing all chance.
CHIVASION - held up in the early stages of the home straight.
HONEYS SON - broke near the 150 metres.
MICHELLE - raced four wide from the 900 metres. Broke near the 450 metres.
MAJESTIC MANNEQUIN - held up final bend. Trotted roughly in the home straight and was unable to be fully driven out.
ONE MAJIC KENNY - held up final bend. When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted in the middle stages driver J Dunn advised he had attempted to improve his position three wide inside the final 1000 metres, however runners ahead of him had failed to progress forward resulting in him becoming poorly placed at the rear of the field around the final bend. After hearing from Mr Dunn, Stewards took the matter no further.
OVERZEALOUS - held up final bend. Trainer M Nyhan advised Stewards the mare was showing signs of muscle tie up following the race.
GREAT THINGS HAPPEN - trotted roughly at various stages. Shifted outwards throughout the home straight when being driven out. Hampered late in the run home. Driver G Smith admitted a breach of Rule 869(4) in that he failed to make sufficient effort to maintain a straight course in the run home and was fined $400 by the JCA.
Race 8   NELSON PINE INDUSTRIES CLASSIC (MOBILE PACE)
YORKSHIRE - raced wide in the early stages. Weakened from the 500 metres. Raced in restricted room when weakening on the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver C Thornley advised he was very disappointed with the effort. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow-up the recovery of the gelding in the coming days.
KENDRA - raced wide in the early stages.
DADNDAVE - broke late in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BRINGITONHOME - paced roughly near the 250 metres. Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
CHANGE IS GOOD - raced wide in the early and middle stages.
Race 9   MAJESTIC HORSE FLOATS PACE
REGATTA - paced roughly throughout.
BOBBY'S MY GIRL - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner and lost all chance.
GOLDEN LACE - driver G Smith reported he dropped his whip near the 100 metres.
SHINDAL - began awkwardly. Driver R McIlwrick advised that he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
SHADOW PHANTASY - hung inwards throughout the home straight.
DYNAMITE - late scratching at 8.05am on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
THUNDERFROMTHETHRONE - paced roughly in the home straight.
EASTWOOD ISABELLA - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Held up early stages of the run home. Driver T Williams was warned for the manner he drove in the early stages of the home straight when attempting a run when insufficient room existed.
HES FAST AND FURIOUS - paced roughly in the home straight.
PINE CONE - began awkwardly.

SCELTA UNO - held up in the early stages of the run home.
LAVER - raced wide early stages.
SOUNDSLIKEART - crowded for a short distance in the score up before pacing roughly prior to the start resulting in the mare being slightly out of position. Over-raced in the middle stages. Lay-inwards throughout the home straight.
MAHARANI - hung inwards in the early stages of the score up. Raced wide early stages.
GOD ONLY KNOWS - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
SOUTHERLY CHANGE - late scratching at 4.50pm on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
