THE REV - broke passing the 100m and failed to settle. A Protest into this runner's fifth placing on the grounds of breaking in excess of 50m in the final 200m was not contested by connections and the JCA disqualified the gelding. An information was lodged alleging that Driver B Butcher drove carelessly near the 150m when he shifted ground outwards resulting in interference to DANKE (G Martin) which broke losing its chance. The charge was upheld and the JCA suspended Mr Butcher's Horseman's licence upto and including 18 January 2020 (2 days). | |

THE BANDIT QUEEN - the race was stopped by Stewards as the field rounded the final turn and subsequently abandoned under Rule 211(A)(3), as the runners had completed greater than 1000m, after THE BANDIT QUEEN choked down near the 1100m and fell to the track. Track staff were unable to get this runner to its feet from its position in the middle of the track. This mare underwent a veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormality. THE BANDIT QUEEN was subsequently stood down pending a satisfactory trial. Driver T Mitchell was uninjured in this incident and cleared by St John Ambulance staff to fulfill his remaining engagements. | |
