Race 4 - WAVERUNNER CENTRE - YAMAHA MOBILE PACE
Trainer K Barron advised Stewards on 31 December that DELIGHTFUL GNP has been treated for a virus since racing at Addington on 20 December with the filly continuing with its current preparation. Mr Barron added that a number of horses in his stable have suffered from the virus in recent weeks.

Race 8 - PAUL RENWICK JOINERY MOTUKARARA XMAS CUP (HCP PACE)
Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 2 January that blood tests taken from TAXMAN following its disappointing performance at Motukarara last week revealed no abnormalities with Mr Todd adding that the gelding will continue with its preparation at Nelson next week.
Stable representative J Dunn advised Stewards on 3 January that SPOT ON has been treated for a virus subsequent to its disappointing performance at Motukarara last week.

Race 1   COUNTRY FEASTS LTD TROT
ZSAHARA - when questioned regarding the performance of the filly, driver A Tomlinson advised despite warming up well the horse struggled trotting the bends and had proved disappointing. Mrs Tomlinson further advised that it was her intention to have her horse examined by a chiropractor in the coming days and after doing so decide if the horse should continue with its preparation for the Blenheim meeting.
STEEL DUST - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards in the early stages of the run home causing the horse to become held up for some distance. Trotted roughly when shifted outwards and then continued to lay inwards through to the finish line.
YEA YOU - broke at the start. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts by the request of Trainer G O'Reilly. Broke again near the 2100 metres.
BLUFF HILL - trotted roughly in the early stages and got back as a result with the gelding not catching the field until near the 600 metres.
FAST WET N WINDEE - raced wide early stages.
IT WASN'T ME - broke at the start. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
MONO GAMBLE - broke near the 2000 metres and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any obvious abnormalities.
AWESOME IMPEE - broke after 150 metres hampering a trailing runner.
PASTRANA - hampered by a breaking runner after 150 metres.
NAVARA - broke at the start.
KD HAWK - broke over the final stages and was lapped on at the finish by LANE'S ACE. A protest lodged against the gelding's 4th placing was not contested by the connections and KD HAWK was relegated to 5th placing by the JCA. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
HASHTAG FAYE - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
Race 2   BALCAIRN STOCKFEEDS PACE
ADHIKA - broke at the start.
PRESIDENT PAT - broke at the start. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Broke on a number occasions through the running and a warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
KWIK SPORT - broke at the start. Weakened entering the final bend.
MEGAROCK - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1100 metres.
KISS THE GIRLS - broke at the start.
CRIMSON LANE - broke at the start hampering an outside runner. Hampered near the 1100 metres. Weakened entering the final bend.
NOT OVER - hampered by an inside runner at the start. Held up between weakening runners on the final bend losing considerable ground.
WOOLFIE MAC - weakened entering the final bend.
ROCKNROLL SCOOTER - a warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record after becoming fractious behind the tapes and causing a delay. Broke at the start.
MAGICAL MALI - presented with removable deafeners which had not been notified. Trainer K Fairbairn was issued with a warning.
Race 3   NORTH CANTERBURY TROTTING TROT
DR CLIFF - began awkwardly. Trotted roughly and broke near the 2300 metres and again on several occasions through the running. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
MIDNIGHT SIOUX - trotted roughly rounding the final bend prior to being checked and breaking near the 400 metres.
MILLY AN EYRE - broke at the start losing all chance.
WINDSOR - lost a hind shoe in the preliminary which was not replaced.
SMUDGEE - broke at the 400 metres checking trailing runners.
RUSTY I AM - hampered by a breaking runner near the 400 metres.
FEKITOA - broke briefly near the 1600 metres.
BLINK N BONES - raced wide from near the 1500 metres.
HEAVENLY LOVE - broke near the 800 metres. Checked and broke near the 300 metres.
RACHMANINOV - hampered by a breaking runner near the 400 metres.
Race 4   TAGGART EARTHMOVING LTD MOBILE PACE
STETSON - late scratching on Veterinary advice due to arriving at the starters assembly area with blood in a nostril. A post-race veterinary examination including a scope confirmed the gelding was not a bleeder.
CLAUS - driver R Close reported his whip had become entangled with his shortener cord which had broken during the race.
GUIDO DA SIENA - slightly out of position at the start. Weakened from near the 1000 metres. A post-race veterinary examination showed the gelding to have fibrillated. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
MY NIKAYLA - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 5   LEVELHEAD INSULATION PACE
DARRYL KERRIGAN - broke at the start. Over-raced middle stages.
KAYLA MAGUIRE - held up final bend.
SHADOW PHANTASY - broke briefly at the start.
CHLOE'S JOY - broke at the start and shifted in abruptly checking another runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
CLIVE - driver G Ross defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly near the 300 metres when striking and puncturing the sulky wheel of PINUP BOY (B Orange). After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from G Ross and B Orange, the JCA dismissed the charge.
CONTRACTUAL ISSUES - hampered by a breaking runner and broke briefly at the start.
BOUND TO IMPRESS - checked at the start.
PINUP BOY - raced wide in the early stages. Driver B Orange reported his wheel to have been struck leaving the final bend with the tyre coming free of the rim.
Race 6   DAWE CONTRACTING LTD MOBILE PACE
VIEWFIELD DREAM - broke in the early stages of the score up.
PETREA BROMAC - when questioned regarding the filly's performance, driver S Tomlinson was unable to offer any explanation and was very disappointed with the effort. Stewards will follow up the recovery with connections in the coming days.
KRYSTAL DELIGHT - raced wide in the early stages.
BETANCOURT - lay outwards in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole. Paced roughly near the 700 metres and had to be steadied.
DUASTAR - when questioned regarding the filly's performance, trainer/driver T Chmiel was unable to offer any explanation and was very disappointed with the effort. Stewards will follow up the recovery with connections in the coming days.
ALWAYS BEA ROYAL - required a sulky change prior to the start. Weakened in the home straight.
MELODY'S MISCHIEF -lay inwards in the early stages of the run home.
Trainer T Chmiel advised Stewards on 8 January that DUASTAR was found to be suffering from a virus following its performance at Rangiora last week.
Trainer N McGrath advised Stewards on 8 January that PETREA BROMAC has recovered well following its disappointing performance at Rangiora last week and at this stage will continue with its current preparation.
Race 7   DAKIN GROUP MOBILE PACE
RANGER BOMB - ran outwards at the 1000 metres when leading. Weakened near the 200 metres. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance, trainer/driver B Hill reported that the gelding had raced too keenly throughout, and he is intending to give the horse a spell.
ALL ABOUT HENRY - over-raced middle stages.
SOCIABLE -over-raced through the back straight on final occasion and became awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of PAY ME VISA near the 600 metres.
ELO LOUISE - broke briefly shortly after the start.
Race 8   FOLLOW RANGIORA HRC ON FACEBOOK HANDICAP TROT
DOFF YOUR CAP - hampered by a breaking runner racing around the first bend. Lay outwards under pressure in the final straight.
MAJESTIC SUNSET - trotted roughly throughout. Weakened from the 450 metres.
RED HARBOUR - broke at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner racing around the first bend.
BJ LINDENNY - hampered by a breaking runner racing around the first bend.
TAKE AFTER ME - paced on the first bend and when being removed from the field by driver T Williams hampered several other runners. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
IN SEQUENCE - broke at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner racing around the first bend.
UNIQUE MARSHALL - hampered by a breaking runner racing around the first bend. Weakened from the 500 metres.
WE'LL MEET AGAIN - hampered by a breaking runner racing around the first bend.
Race 9   CANTERBURY HONDA LTD MOBILE PACE
RINGO'S A STAR - raced roughly in the early stages. Broke near the 700 metres. Again broke near the 500 metres losing its chance. When questioned regarding the performance, driver T Williams advised the gelding to have hung outwards throughout and struck a knee inside the final 1000 metres worsening the problem and that he would be recommending gear changes. Stood down pending a satisfactory trial.
NATURAL FIRE - raced wide early stages. Inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 700 metres and was taken wider on the track.
LOYALIST - hung outwards abruptly near the 200 metres hampering outside runner.
VINCENT VAN GONE - raced wide early stages. Over-raced around the final bend.
VIOLET KNIGHT - broke soon after the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered by a hanging runner near the 200 metres.
TICKING OVER - raced wide early stages.
ALBASINI - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Raced roughly and lay outwards in the early stages causing driver S Ottley some difficulty. Weakened final bend.
CARITA - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Over-raced middle stages.
