Cambridge Harness - Tuesday, 24th December 2019
Race 6 - STEVE DUNNE 80th BIRTHDAY HANDICAP TROT
Trainer N Chilcott advised Stewards on 29 December that she had taken blood off PHOEBE IMPERIAL subsequent to its disappointing run and the results had come back clear. She further stated that the gelding has an on going respiratory condition which requires managing and could only attribute the performance to the very hot conditions prevailing at the time.
Race 7 - DUNSTAN HORSE FEEDS MOBILE PACE
Trainer B Mangos advised Stewards on 29 December that BUBBLED UP had been treated for dehydration and would be returning to the trials prior to resuming.
Race 8 - GROUP 1 TURF BAR TROTTERS FLYING MILE (MOBILE TROT)
Driver B Mangos (ENHANCE YOUR CALM) was questioned regarding the manner in which he drove throughout the home straight on the final occasion. Mr Mangos stated that when ENHANCE YOUR CALM broke near the 180m he had been mindful of not causing interference to trailing runners and so had allowed the gelding to continue in a strong gallop by which time it had clearly been in excess of the allowable 50m so he did not to make a greater effort to restrain the gelding over the final stages. After considering the matter Mr Mangos was reminded of his obligations to take greater corrective action given similar circumstances in the future.
