Race 1   HAVE YOUR NEW YEARS EVE AT ALEX PARK HCP TROT
SAINT MICHEL - Trainer T Vince was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after a hind bandage came adrift during the running.
STOW - broke after 100m losing all chance.
MAGNAFIQUE - fractious at the barrier. Broke at the start hampering SUNNY PETITE and MONKEY SELFIE.
SUNNY PETITE - trotted roughly after the start and shifted in before then being hampered by a breaking runner, losing ground.
MONKEY SELFIE - hampered at the start and broke losing all chance. Broke on several occasions when trailing the field. Trainer N Chilcott advised the mare had cast the off front shoe during the running.
AIN'T NO PRINCESS - broke near the 1900m losing ground before settling.
Race 2   PASCOES THE JEWELLERS MOBILE PACE
DELIGHTFUL CATHERINE - checked after 100m by the breaking SMOKEN SHAZZA and raced over several marker pegs. Driver T Cameron reported that he received a punctured sulky tyre in this incident.
SMOKEN SHAZZA - broke after 100m checking DELIGHTFUL CATHERINE for several strides before losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners.
UNDERTHESOUTHERNSUN - locked wheels briefly with BETTOR LISTEN passing the 200m. Shifted out marginally under pressure late in the run home.
CLOUD BREAK - raced keenly middle stages. Lay out when attempting to improve in the passing lane throughout the run home.
BETTOR LISTEN - locked wheels briefly with DELIGHTFUL CATHERINE passing the 200m. Shifted in under pressure late in the run home and paced roughly just short of the winning post. Driver Z Butcher advised that his chances had not been affected in either incident in the run home.
Race 3   IN THE AREA? BE SURE TO ChECK OUT THE ALEX MOB PACE
VESPA - lay in during the score up and was back a length at dispatch.
M T POCKETS - raced three wide throughout when unable to obtain the parked position which was being held by DOWN TO THE BONE. Tired from the 700m.
Race 4   NOEL TAYLOR NZ TROTTING HALL OF FAME MOBILE TROT
The track was upgraded to Good prior to this event.
CHEVRON ACTION - hung inwards rounding the bends and in particular the final bend when losing ground. Lay outward in the run home.
SWISS MISS - Trainer R Dunn was cautioned for the late notification of the addition of a pacifier.
ACE COMMANDER - broke as the start was effected losing ground before settling at the rear.
Race 5   CROMBIE LOCKWOOD BLOODSTOCK MOBILE PACE
IM A GIGOLO - was challenged for the lead over the early stages. Shifted outwards near the 500m when leading which presented an inside run to the trailing BETTORSTARTDREAMING. Lay inwards rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance in what was the gelding's first race right handed, Driver B Orange stated that IM A GIGOLO had raced greenly down the back straight when shifting up the track before peaking on its run over the final stages. Mr Orange further stated that he expected the gelding to derive considerable benefit from what was its first race for nine weeks.
MATAI GEORDIE - held up throughout the run home when disappointed for clear racing room. Contacted and dislodged the nearside mudguard of BETTORSTARTDREAMING, which shifted out marginally under pressure. Driver J Stormont advised he did not activate the deafeners as a result.
DOUBLE ROCKET - unsuccessfully challenged for the early lead before being restrained to take up a position three back on the marker line. Driver S Phelan was questioned regarding his failure to shift down into the passing lane when it became available on straightening for the run home. Mr Phelan explained that DOUBLE ROCKET had been travelling so well that he had been required to take another grip on the reins in order to ease his runner sufficiently to clear the sulky of BETTORSTARTDREAMING which he was trailing. Mr Phelan's explanation was accepted.
JAY TEE TYRON - broke in the early stages of the score up but was in position prior to dispatch.
BETTORSTARTDREAMING - obtained an inside run approaching the 500m. Shifted out under pressure on several occasions in the run home which resulted in its nearside mudguard being contacted and dislodged by MATAI GEORDIE.
Race 6   DUNSTAN SPEEDFEED SUMMER SERIES MOBILE TROT
SHE REIGNS - over-raced middle stages when leading.
RENEZMAE - trotted roughly and then broke briefly passing the 300m.
PRETTY MAJESTIC - held up late in the run home when unable to obtain clear racing room.
Race 7   DUNSTAN SPEEDFEED SUMMER SERIES MOBILE PACE
NUN BETTOR - over-raced middle stages when outside the leader.
FABRIZIO - trailed on the outer before improving three wide passing the 600m. Lay in rounding the final turn losing some momentum before finishing on over the final stages into 4th place beaten 4.2 lengths. When questioned Driver B Orange stated that the gelding had received every opportunity.
SOUTH COAST ARDEN - required the attention of the farrier delaying the start for three minutes.
AKARANA PRINCE - weakened in the run home.
MIGHTY LOOEE - shifted out approaching the 150m when leading and had to be corrected.
Race 8   IRT MOBILE PACE
GLADAMARE - pulled hard in the score up.
IVANA FLYBYE - shifted out entering the home straight and had to be corrected.
