Race 9 - PICK & SHOVEL/WAITAKI WOODTURNERS GUILD MOBILE PACE
Stewards questioned Driver B Orange (MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR) regarding the manner he drove in the home straight when displaying a lack of vigour until late in the run home. Mr Orange explained that the horse had been hanging outwards approaching the passing lane and for this reason elected to shift wider on the track. Mr Orange added that the horse had commenced to pace roughly resulting in him being unable to place the horse under full pressure. After hearing his explanation, Stewards accepted Mr Orange's comments.

Trainer M House advised Stewards on 18 December that DELIGHT OF TEXAS has been sent for a lengthy spell.

Race 6 - GRAPHITE DEVELOPMENTS SHOW DAY FUTURITY CONS. MOBILE PACE
Driver R Holmes (SILK) admitted a breach of Rule 869(4) in that he drove in a manner causing interference to his own runner when jostling for a position with SAM'S TOWN (R Close) in the early stages of the home straight. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, Mr Holmes was fined $250 by the JCA.
Winton HRC - Sunday, 15th December 2019
Race 9 - SEE YOU HERE NEW YEARS EVE MOBILE TROT
Trainer C Butt advised Stewards on 18 December that blood tests taken from THEODOSIA following its performance at Winton revealed no abnormalities. Mr Butt added that the mare has had a change of feed since that run and has worked well this week in preparation for its engagement at Addington on Friday.

Race 1   EQUINOX RESTAURANT TROT
KEN'S DREAM - tangled away.
SUNNY VALLEY - trotted roughly and broke racing into the first bend. A post-race Veterinary examination was carried out after Trainer/Driver B Munro reported the gelding had made abnormal breathing noises throughout the event, which revealed no obvious abnormalities.
MAKE MY DAY - placed in restricted room near the 1800 metres and had to be steadied. Driver S Kelly was cautioned for the manner he drove near the 1100 metres when forcing an outside runner wider on the track. Broke passing the 700 metres.
PETRONELLI GEE - trotted roughly in the early stages. Raced 4 wide briefly near the 1100 metres. Trotted roughly throughout the home straight.
MISS JESSICA - raced wide early stages. Over-raced passing the 1000 metres. Driver T Robertson was cautioned for the manner he drove near the 1800 metres when crowding an inside runner.
LISTEN EASY - broke briefly at the start.
MUSCLE POWER - weakened from the 600 metres.
CROWN RANGE - broke passing the 1250 metres.
LANE'S ACE - raced wide on the first bend. Over-raced in the middle stages. Broke rounding the final bend.
Race 2   RICOH MOBILE PACE
VALZONA - paced roughly in the score up. Hung inwards on the final bend contacting several track markers.
SHINDAL - lay outwards over the concluding stages.
LADY'S LASS - lay in on the final bend contacting several track markers.
MY NIKAYLA - Junior Driver K Tomlinson was cautioned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
IDEAL ASSET - held up on the final bend.
COOLHAND EASTON - when spoken to regarding the improved performance of the gelding, Trainer B Norman advised the gelding had been working well since winning a recent workout adding that it was suited to the class of tonight's event.
Race 3   NZ HORSE TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
SHAMROCK BROMAC - trainer G Dunn was cautioned for being late to notify the gelding would be racing with an anti-choke device on. Raced in restricted room rounding the final bend. Driver B Munro was cautioned for attempting to shift wider on the track when not in a position to do so. When spoken to regarding the performance of the gelding, Mr Munro advised that the horse had become awkwardly placed back on the marker line after showing no gate speed however had proved disappointing when asked for an effort in the home straight.
MILA KUNIS - lay in racing into the first bend striking pylons.
IRON WOMAN - weakened near the 600 metres.
K MACH - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover. Hung inwards before breaking passing the 1800 metres losing all chance. Driver M Williamson reported that he was unable to activate the hopple shorteners.
WEE RING THE CHANGES - lay in on the bend near the 900 metres contacting several track markers.
WITH THE STARS - over-raced middle stages. Paced roughly for a short distance near the 1500 metres.
Race 4   IN APPRECIATION OF MAUREEN SIMPSON MOBILE PACE
DION ROBYN - paced roughly and broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
WILLACHY - Junior Driver B Laughton reported that the gelding had paced roughly throughout.
EDGE SHEERAN - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance. Driver R Holmes reported that the entire had panicked at this stage and broken in consequence.
OFF THE EDGE - raced wide rounding the final bend. Hung inwards in the home straight hampering OLIVER NORTH. A protest was lodged under Rule 869A(2) by OLIVER NORTH placed 2nd against OFF THE EDGE placed 1st alleging interference over the final 70 metres. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Drivers M Williamson (OLIVER NORTH), J Cox (OFF THE EDGE) and Stewards, the JCA dismissed the protest. Driver J Cox was cautioned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
OLIVER NORTH - broke racing into the first bend. Hampered over the concluding stages by OFF THE EDGE which shifted ground inwards. Authorisation of 2nd place being awarded was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages.
MARIE LONG - hampered by a breaking runner passing the 2000 metres. Junior Driver J Morrison reported that the filly had raced greenly throughout.
Race 5   NEXT RACE MEETING 5TH MARCH 2020 PACE
JAKE - Junior Driver B Laughton reported his gelding had raced greenly throughout.
MATAU JESS - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend.
JACKS ANNE - Trainer K Dance reported the mare would be racing in season. Lay inwards throughout the home straight.
MY BIG ROMANCE - broke briefly at the start. Held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
ALL MONEY - hung inwards racing into the first bend and paced roughly. Hampered by breaking runner near the 1800 metres. Paced roughly final bend.
NICOLE - broke briefly near the 1800 metres hampering trailing runners. Over-raced in the middle stages. Paced roughly final bend.
SHEZDAWON - hampered by breaking runner near the 1800 metres.
Race 6   YALDHURST HOTEL MOBILE PACE
BALIUS - hampered by breaking runner at the 1750 metres. Weakened from the 600 metres.
THE CROUPIER - broke passing the 1750 metres losing considerable ground. Driver C Ferguson reported that the gelding had struck a knee causing it to break. Weakened from the 600 metres.
MELTON REACTOR - broke in the score up hampering THE CROUPIER and RAH DE RAH causing a false start to be declared. Driver R Holmes elected to remain in his allocated position for the restart. Broke again in the score up losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Trainer A Edge advised he would be making gear changes.
LINTON SHARD - weakened final bend.
KOTARE ELITE - held up final bend.
DEUS EX - weakened final bend. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Co-Trainer G Knight reported the gelding would be sent for a spell.
WHATA RAZZLE DAZZLE - paced roughly passing the 900 metres.
Race 7   DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS MOBILE PACE
IAMTHEDREAM - broke in the score up losing all chance and was retired from the race. Stood down to complete one satisfactory mobile trial.
VIGOROSO - hung inwards racing into the first bend placing inside runner in restricted room.
BETTORS ATOM - crowded rounding the final bend by an outside runner making contact with track markers. Stewards questioned Driver C Ferguson regarding the tactics he adopted passing the 1600 metres when electing to shift from the 1x1 to a position 4 back on the marker line. Mr Ferguson explained that he was of the opinion he would be shuffled back towards the rear of the field as he anticipated horses would improve in the middle stages. Mr Ferguson added that he felt his best option was to shift inwards as his mare has struggled in previous races when having to improve wide rounding the final bend. After hearing from Mr Ferguson, Stewards took the matter no further.
FIRST SON - briefly placed in restricted room racing into the first bend. Held up final bend when attempting to improve wider on the track and had to be steadied placing an inside runner in restricted room.
AMERICAN MAC - over-raced in the middle stages.
WOLF WEST - paced roughly final bend when improving wider on the track.
SUPERSTAR LEGEND - held up final bend.
Race 8   NORWOOD FARM MACHINERY CENTRE MOBILE TROT
COUNT EYRE - broke shortly after the start. Broke rounding the final bend. Authorisation of 5th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations.
AMABEDE - raced wide in the early stages. Weakened from the 1200 metres with a post-race Veterinary examination revealing a slow recovery. Stood down pending a satisfactory trial.
PAT THE MONKEY - cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
SIOUX PRINCESS - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver S Ottley was cautioned for the manner she drove when attempting to restrain her runner back into its correct gait.
Race 9   MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM FORBURY PARK MOBILE PACE
ALEXY - Trainer/Driver D O'Connell reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
SOUNDS BETTOR - raced keenly through the early and middle stages. Held up in the middle stages of the home straight.
POCKET CALL - raced wide throughout. Paced roughly passing the 600 metres. Weakened final bend. Trainer/Driver L Dobbs was shown the replay and advised to be more decisive when attempting to improve his position in the middle stages.
SOUTHERN RAIN - over-raced in the early stages.
RUSSIAN EXPRESS - raced wide from the 600 metres.
MY MATE BEN - improved four wide for a distance passing the 600 metres.
KATCHALIGHT - Driver J Cox reported the mare had over-raced throughout.
MAKARA - raced wide from the 600 metres.
