Race 3 - IT'LL BE HOT AT MAC'S POTTERS PADDOCK DEC 13/14 MOBILE PACE
Trainer B Purdon advised Stewards on 11 December that blood tests taken from MAJOR JELLIS following its disappointing performance at Alexandra Park on 3 December revealed no abnormalities. Mr Purdon added that the gelding had worked well this week in preparation for its engagement on Friday.

Race 6 - MEMBERS' MOBILE PACE
Trainer D Gale advised today that blood tests taken after this race showed that THE KAPITI EXPRESS was suffering from symptoms of muscle tie up which he believed explained the gelding's poor performance.

Race 1   FOCUS PLANNING MOBILE PACE
TROOPER COOPER - checked by a breaking runner just prior to the start. Declared a non-runner under Rule 213(1)(j) on the grounds that the gelding was denied a fair start.
DOWNTOWN BABE - inclined to lay in during the score up and then broke prior to the start checking a runner to its inside. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners.
WITH REVENGE - over-raced middle stages.
PANDA GIRL - paced roughly on several occasions shortly after the start when appearing to step over shadows. Jumped a shadow passing the 1750 metres checking a trailing runner.
ZIP CODE - checked for a stride passing the 1750 metres.
Starter G Phillips was shown the replay and spoken to advisedly in relation to the start. In considering the matter Stewards took into account that the interference occurred just prior to the start being declared.
Race 2   ALBERT OLDIES MOBILE PACE
NICKY JAY - broke for several strides in the score up. Broke losing its chance approaching the 850 metres. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners record. Trainer K Goss advised that NICKY JAY would be turned out for a spell.
INQUISITO - paced roughly over the early stages settling towards the rear. Continued to pace roughly on numerous occasions and lost contact with the field after being inconvenienced briefly near the 850 metres. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners record.
DRUM BEAT - inconvenienced briefly near the 850 metres. Weakened out over the final 600 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Driver J Curtin reported that the gelding had been striking a knee during the running. Trainer F Mitchell advised that he would be making a corrective gear change prior to resuming.
Race 3   CARTOWN MOBILE PACE
CARSE O FERN CULLY - paced roughly rounding the final turn.
OUTLANDER - a late scratching at 4.30 pm on veterinary advice after sustaining superficial injuries in an incident in the stabling area.
Race 4   ITM PALMERSTON NORTH HANDICAP TROT
BATTLE COMMANDER - fractious prior to the start and was sent to the unruly by the Starter. Broke approaching the 350 metres and continued in a gallop for a distance. Declared unruly for future standing starts.
MACKALI - broke at the start losing its chance.
FLYING MONKEY - trotted unevenly throughout failing to maintain contact with the field. A post race veterinary examination revealed an injury to the near fore heel due to the gelding pulling the shoe during the running.
DAUNTLESS - weakened out inside the 700 metres.
RECYCLE - broke inside the 900 metres losing its chance. Junior Driver J Morrison reported that the gelding was not fluent in its gait compared to its previous start and trotted unevenly throughout prior to breaking and he felt it may be feeling the effects of its first day run.
MEKONG PRINCESS - raced in restricted room briefly near the 400 metres. Inconvenienced by a galloping runner rounding the final turn.

MAGIC BLAZE - held up final turn and the early stages of the run home.
LAVAZZA - improved from the rear along the marker line entering the back straight the first time. Driver B Butcher was then required to restrain the filly approaching the 1600 metres due to MARTIN MCGUINNESS being shifted down on to the marker line.
Race 6   OUTBACK TRADING MOBILE PACE
AMARO - over-raced rounding the first turn.
RED RIVER DASH - under pressure inside the final 600 metres and weakened out.
PURE DESIRE - caught three wide early and was restrained to the rear.
ABSOLUT RUSSIAN - over-raced in the score up. Shifted out near the 200 metres and paced roughly for several strides.
PORT DELIGHT - held up final turn and throughout the run home and as a result Driver C Crook did not activate the deafeners.
MR BILLIARDS - raced three wide for the final 900 metres.
Race 7   WENHAM GRAIN & SEED MOBILE PACE
AMERICAN ME - held up briefly on straightening for the run home.
FRANKIE JONES - weakened in the run home.
MOGUL - unsuccessfully contested for the mid-race lead and then raced without cover.
Race 8   STORAGE NZ MOBILE PACE
BROOKE'S IMAGE - gave ground inside the final 600 metres. Locked wheels briefly with SHEIKH YABOOTY near the 500 metres.
TEMPO ROSE - over-raced middle stages when outside the leader.
MATAI MINKY - caught three wide early before being eased to the rear. Driver C Hart is to be questioned in relation to the manner in which he used the whip over the final 400 metres.
SHEIKH YABOOTY - locked wheels briefly with BROOKE'S IMAGE near the 500 metres. Driver C Peterson admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted under clause (b) of the 'Use of the Whip' Regulation. The JCA imposed a fine of $200.00.
MARIANNA BROMAC - held up early final turn.
MILNER - Driver B Webster was questioned regarding the tactics he adopted leaving the back straight the final time when he elected to shift his gelding down from a three wide position on the back of FINAL DELIGHT to a position in the one out running line with MILNER being badly held up over the final stages when unable to secure clear running. Mr Webster stated that after having shifted three wide his runner had struggled to hold the back of FINAL DELIGHT and felt that his best option was to shift down and save ground as he considered that he would be unable to attempt to improve four wide and be competitive. After considering the matter Stewards were of the opinion that Mr Webster's tactics were not so unreasonable as to be culpable and noted his explanation.
PLAY BALL - raced wide final 900 metres.
Race 9   NEXT RACING JAN 31st/HANLEY FORMULA A.Y.D.C. MOBILE PACE
RAKE - over-raced middle stages when leading.
SWEET MAGGIE RYAN - over-raced middle stages.
MASADA - over-raced early and middle stages when outside the leader. Gave ground from the 400 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections regarding the gelding's recovery in the coming days.
PATS DRAGON - tended to lay in at various stages.
