Race 9 - CHRISTCHURCH CASINO MOBILE PACE
Driver T Chmiel (CANSTAR) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly racing into the first bend by shifting inwards crowding MAHARANI and PRINCESS FULHAM which broke. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Mr Chmiel's licence from the conclusion of racing on 13 December up to and including 18 December 2019 (2 days).
Mr Chmiel (CANSTAR) also admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 1450 metres by shifting inwards when insufficiently clear of MAHARANI resulting in that runner striking the sulky wheel of CANSTAR which punctured. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA further suspended Mr Chmiel's licence from the conclusion of racing on 18 December up to and including 21 December 2019 (2 days).

GOOSE HEALY - broke 150 metres after the start losing all chance. Driver C Markham advised the gelding had cast a shoe shortly after the start.
RANDOM SPUR - held up final bend and early stages of the home straight.
MAJESTIC ROLLON - held up final bend.
MARANATHA ATLAS - lay outwards late in the run home and locked sulky stays with RITES OF ZHOU.
FAST WET N WINDEE - raced wide early stages.
HALFWAY THERE - trotted roughly around the first bend when crossing down to lead.
SALLY LINDENNY - slow to begin. Trotted roughly in the early stages. Hung outwards in the home straight.
RITES OF ZHOU - held up early and middle stages of the home straight. Locked sulky stays late in the run home with MARANATHA ATLAS which was laying outwards.

MAHIA - hung outwards around the bends. When questioned regarding the performance, driver S Ottley could offer no explanation and advised she was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days.
KRYSTAL DELIGHT - held up early stages of the run home.
FINESTCHEDDARISBETA - out of position and broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened from the 900 metres.
HELLS SHADOW - broke after 150 metres. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
CHEDDAR VALLEY - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Broke near the 300 metres.

JUST HOLLA - lay outwards when under pressure in the run home.

SCOTLYNN ON THEBEACH - R Close was an authorised driver change due to B Laughton being unable to attend the meeting due to transport difficulties. Held up middle stages of the run home.

FRANCO JOSIAH - broke briefly at the start.
GLOBAL FLIGHT - underwent and passed a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for a length of time.
REGAL ASPIRANT - broke near the 800 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
ROGIE FALLS - hampered by a breaking runner near the 400 metres.
CRAZY N LOVE - broke around the first bend. Trotted roughly at various stages throughout. Broke again near the 700 metres when there was a slight easing of the pace.

GOD ONLY KNOWS - over-raced middle stages. Driver B Webster was spoken to advisedly regarding his trailing position for a distance passing the 1500 metres. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 500 metres.
RAGNARR - over-raced when being restrained to obtain cover racing into the first bend.
GUIDO DA SIENA - weakened near the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days.
SHOT IN THE DARK - broke briefly near the 1500 metres after striking the wheel of DIAMOND EDITION due to a slight easing of the pace.
DIAMOND EDITION - had to be restrained near the 1500 metres due to a slight easing of the pace.

TAKE AFTER ME - broke near the 100 metres when briefly crowded for racing room.
WE'LL MEET AGAIN - lay outwards throughout the run home briefly crowding an outside runner. Driver J Smith was shown the films and warned to maintain a straight course in the home straight.
