Race 1   WILLYS FLOORING LTD TROT
TOMMY TIDDLER - hampered by a breaking runner passing the 900 metres.
DREAM OF PAT - raced without the notified removable deafeners after they broke around at the start.
IT'S SUMMERTIME - broke at the start losing all chance. Placed on the Unruly for future standing start events at the request of trainer J Douglas.
WHANGAMATA - broke at the start. Again broke passing the 1800 metres.
SOUTH PARK - broke at the start. Again broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
MISS JESSICA - broke racing into the first bend. Authorisation of 5th placing being awarded was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking at this stage of the race.
GALLEONS FUTURE - broke at the start. Authorisation of 2nd placing being awarded was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking at this stage of the race.
VICTORIA BAY - broke at the start. Hampered rounding the first bend by a breaking runner. Again broke passing the 1800 metres.
MAKE MY DAY - broke passing the 900 metres.
TEASE MY TARTAN - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
Race 2   INVERCARGILL WORKOUTS JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
LOVE THE BLUES - broke in the score-up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
TACT EZE - placed in tight quarters passing the 800 metres when the runner to the inside lay outwards, resulting in TACT EZE breaking and losing ground in consequence.
TOBY O'GARA - lay outwards leaving the bend near the 800 metres placing outside runner in restricted room. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Hung inwards entering the final bend.
BOTTLE ROCK - briefly shifted inwards passing the 800 metres.
MAGNETIC WATCH - briefly hampered by a breaking runner passing the 700 metres.
Race 3   GOLD ACE AT NEVELE R STUD FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
THEODORA HOPE - weakened rounding the final bend.
BETTER GALLEON - weakened from the 600 metres.
LADY'S LASS - weakened rounding the final bend.
FLASH PARTY - placed in tight quarters and checked by outside runners shortly after the start, losing considerable ground. Authorisation of dividends was withheld until the Stewards had viewed the films of the start and confirmed the mare had been checked and broke in consequence, after the start was effected.
DALLAS GRIMES - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Held up rounding the final bend.
VINTAGE ROSE - hung in the score-up then broke just after the dispatch, checking inside runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
CALICO HILL - weakened rounding the final bend.
SWIFT ROBYN - held up by a tiring runner passing the 600 metres and was unable to obtain clear racing room until near the 300 metres.
Race 4   BOOK YOUR CUP DAY TENT SITE MOBILE PACE
LITE PERCUSSION - held up rounding the final bend.
BUNTER'S DREAM - over-raced in the middle stages. Held up rounding the final bend.
ANSETT FLIGHT - raced three-wide without cover from the 1200 metres. Weakened rounding the final bend.
Race 5   SOUTHLAND HARNESS AWARDS LADYSHIP FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
CLASSIE PRINCESS - paced roughly near the 700 metres when under pressure.
DELIGHT - lay outwards passing the 900 metres. Held up by a tiring runner rounding the final bend.
ALLABOUTJOY - held up by a tiring runner rounding the final bend.
RAKANELLIE - weakened from the 500 metres.
NIKASA - lay outwards racing into the first bend forcing KICKUPYAHEELS wider on the track.
KICKUPYAHEELS - forced wide rounding the first bend when NIKASA on its inside, lay outwards. Again forced wider on the track passing the 300 metres and paced roughly thereafter. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver R Swain advised he was slightly disappointed with the effort, however the race had not been run to suit and having missed a recent workout he expected KICKUPYAHEELS to derive benefit from today's run.
Race 6   DALLARD BUILDING LTD MOBILE PACE
HOKURI PLATTER - hampered by a tiring runner near the 750 metres and then shifted ground outwards for some distance striking the near hind leg of A SMIDGEN MORE. Stewards took evidence from junior driver M Hurrell and due to driver B McLellan (A SMIDGEN MORE) having left the track, adjourned the matter.
SLY TRICKS - observed to have blood present in its mouth around at the start area with a pre-race Veterinary examination clearing the gelding to race. Weakened from the 800 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
LATERINTHEDAY - paced roughly rounding the final bend.
A SMIDGEN MORE - forced wider on the track passing the 700 metres when HOKURI PLATTER shifted outwards and breaking in consequence. Stewards will follow up with driver B McLellan in the coming days.
SWELL TIME - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 10.51 am. Connections were advised a Veterinary clearance would be required prior to SWELL TIME racing next.
PRODIGAL PETE - weakened from the 500 metres.
JACCKA TED - over-raced in the middle stages.
RACING MINISTER - raced wide in the early stages.
MAJOR MEISTER - out of position at the start. Driver K Barclay was warned to ensure she maintains her allotted barrier position until the dispatch point is reached. Shifted down the track when under pressure over the concluding stages. Driver K Barclay was spoken to and reminded of her obligations to maintain a straight line in the home straight. Mrs Barclay advised she would be making changes to the colt's gear, namely the bit in an effort to rectify this tendency. Driver K Barclay was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 pursuant to Rule 867 when driving with her foot out of the sulky footrest.
Race 7   REGENT CAR COURT HANDICAP PACE
NOTA BENE DENARIO - tangled away. Lay outwards in the home straight when utilising the Passing Lane.
IDEAL DRAW - broke at the start. Lay inwards rounding the first bend.
SAGWITCH - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
Race 8   SHAW BUILDING LTD HANDICAP TROT
MISS BAMBOOCHA - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly on various stages during the running.
ONLY ONE WAY - driver M Williamson reported he did not activate the removable deafeners applied to the gelding due to having the field covered.
LADY ZARA - broke passing the 800 metres and shifted inwards over pylons.
SAGE TROUBLE - driver A Beck was spoken to regarding the manner he drove passing the 1100 metres when trailing the wheel of BIG IRON.
SEKKIE MONKEY - shifted down the track throughout the home straight.
Race 9   DARYL BURGESS MASONRY MOBILE PACE
DREAMINSOVER - raced wide in the early stages. Over-raced throughout.
ANNIE FITZ - held up rounding the final bend.
VON RICHTHOFEN - struck several track markers racing into the first bend.
Race 10   CUP DAY 25TH JANUARY MOBILE PACE
MARSUE - weakened from the 600 metres.
KRAMER - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer D McLachlan advised the gelding is much better suited to setting his own terms racing in front which it was able to do today.
PICK SIX TELF - raced wide in the early stages.
MAJOR MENACE - raced wide in the early stages.
INDULGENCE - driver B Williamson reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners applied to the mare due to the cord becoming entangled.
