Race 1   NZ HORSE TRANSPORT LTD TROT
AYUTTHAYA - when spoken to regarding the improved performance of the gelding Trainer M Denton explained that a recent change in the feeding programme had assisted in today's performance.
CUDDLY TROUBLE - broke near the 350 metres.
JACCKA JOSH - Driver B Barclay was warned under Rule 862(2) for being back from his correct barrier position at release.
MICKEY JAY - raced wide through the early stages until reaching the parked position near the 1500 metres.
MUSCLE POWER - broke briefly at the start. Weakened from the 600 metres.
Race 2   RICOH PACE
KOTARE ELITE - broke at the start. Held up on the final bend, lay in exiting the final bend contacting several track markers. Briefly locked wheels with IVANA LEGACY passing the 150 metres.
WOLF WEST - lay in at various stages throughout the event.
ALLANDALE - over-raced in the middle stages.
IVANA LEGACY - broke at the start. Briefly locked wheels with KOTARE ELITE passing the 150 metres.
WOODLEA EXPLORER - weakened from the 400 metres.
SOUNDS BETTOR - held up near the 450 metres.
Race 3   DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS MOBILE PACE
BETTORS ATOM - over-raced in the score up. Weakened from the final bend.
BETTORS HIGHLIGHT - locked wheels briefly with PARAMA near the 850 metres.
PARAMA - hung inwards and locked wheels briefly with BETTORS HIGHLIGHT near the 850 metres. Raced wide from the 800 metres. Hung inwards throughout the run home. Junior Driver E Barron was spoken to regarding the performance of the gelding and advised it had hung in at various occasions but other than that could offer no further explanation. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with Trainer D Simpson in the coming days.
Race 4   YALDHURST HOTEL HANDICAP TROT
HORSE OF COURSE - broke near the 350 metres when racing in the trail.
THE NIGHT SWEATS - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
CRUSHER COLLINS - broke briefly shortly after the start.
GAZZA GALLEON - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
WHATWILLBEEWILLBEE - broke briefly racing into the first bend.
Race 5   SPK INDUSTRIES FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
CLIFTON JESSIE - broke in the score up and was several lengths out of position at the start with a warning being placed on the mare's barrier record.
PHOEBE'S DELIGHT - weakened from the 600 metres. Placed in tight quarters by MOANA entering the final bend. Driver B McLellan reported that he had suffered a flat tyre near the 600 metres.
MOANA - Driver K Larsen was shown the films and spoken to advisedly with regards with the manner he drove leaving the back straight and placing PHOEBE'S DELIGHT briefly in restricted room.
SOUTHERN BELLE - raced wide in the early stages until reaching the parked position passing the 1400 metres. Gave ground from the 600 metres. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
MAJOR MENACE - over-raced in the middle stages.
BARIKA - raced wide in the early stages.
WITH THE STARS - over-raced at various stages throughout. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 600 metres. Junior Driver M Hurrell advised that he had difficulty steering the mare throughout and would be recommending a change of bit to the connections.
SMIRK FREE - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover at the rear.
Race 6   DUX THINK HOT WATER MOBILE PACE
JACKS ANNE - held up rounding the final bend and in the majority of the run home only obtaining clear racing room late in the home straight.
THE NIGHT WATCHMAN - raced wide in the early stages. Hung inwards at various stages throughout. Driver N Williamson reported that the gelding had raced greenly at times.
DION ROBYN - broke in the score up and was out of position at dispatch then broke briefly racing into the first bend losing some ground.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - held up near the 100 metres.
MAKARA - broke in the score up losing all chance and being retired from the event. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile manners.
Race 7   NEXT RACE MEETING 6TH DECEMBER MOBILE PACE
COOLHAND EASTON - held up for clear racing room from the final bend and in the home straight. Driver B Orange reported that he did not activate the removable gear due to this.
RUNNING ON EMPTY - was retired from the race near the 1100 metres with a subsequent Veterinarian examination revealing that the gelding had bled from both nostrils and was stood down for the mandatory 30 day period with a Veterinary clearance including the result of a clear scope required prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
SHINDAL - raced in restricted room close to the finishing line jumping the last marker. After viewing the films Stewards were unable to place blame of any one driver or horse.
FIRST SON - raced wide in the early stages.
IT'S ALL OVER NOW - the mare underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination due to not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
MY NIKAYLA - raced greenly at various stages throughout. Weakened from the final bend.
TETRICK - held up for clear racing room in the latter stages of the home straight and being unable to be fully driven out.
EJA PATRON - lay in over the concluding stages. When spoken to regarding the improved performance of the gelding Driver J Cox stated he was not surprised by tonight's effort due to being unlucky at his previous start.
