Race 1   MARSHALLS EXCAVATING TROT
DREAM OF PAT - broke at the start.
PETRONELLI GEE hung inwards in the early stages of the home straight.
WHANGAMATA - trotted roughly through the middle stages. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the gelding had not obtained an advantage when making contact with several track markers in the middle stages of the home straight. Driver B McLellan was issued with a warning.
SOUTH PARK - broke at the start.
KEN'S DREAM - raced wide through the early stages.
SUSIES WAY - broke at the start. Authorisation of 5th placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations. Hung inwards on various occasions during the running.
MOONS WAY - held up rounding the final bend and early in the home straight. Trotted roughly when looking for clear racing room in the home straight.
STAY ABOARD - paced away, having to be restrained back into its correct gait. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
KIWI HEIR - broke near the 500 metres. Stood down to trial to the Stewards satisfaction on one occasion prior to racing next.
Race 2   ULTIMATE MACHETE MOBILE PACE
TACT MIESHA - raced wide without cover from the 700 metres. Junior driver M Hurrell reported the mare had hung outwards throughout.
HELD TO RANSOM - struck the sulky wheel of SCHNITZEL VON KRUMM near the 200 metres and broke shortly after. Junior driver J Alford assisted by Mr M Purvis admitted a breach of Careless Driving in that he allowed his horse to shift ground outwards and strike a wheel resulting in his own horse breaking. After viewing replays and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a suspension of Mr Alford's licence to drive from the 15th of November until 22nd November inclusive. (2 days)
SCHNITZEL VON KRUMM - over-raced for a distance passing the 1700 metres when bring restrained to obtain cover. Held up rounding the final bend. Driver M Williamson reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners applied to the gelding. Trainer H Hunter was issued with a warning for presenting a runner with gear incorrectly applied.
TIGER MOTH - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1600 metres. Lay inwards exiting the final bend. Underwent a post-race Veterinary examination after returning to the stabling area with blood present on a leg. The subsequent examination revealed a laceration to the inside quarter of the right fore hoof. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
Race 3   MATAI FARM MOBILE PACE
BETTORS ATOM - weakened rounding the final bend.
DEPEND ON WASHIE - hung in the score-up and was out of position at the start. Forced to race wider on the track near the 1400 metres when MAN I'M GOOD improved outwards from its inside. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule however after viewing replays it was established MAN I'M GOOD had commenced its outwards movement prior to DEPEND ON WASHIE reaching its wheel with the matter taken no further.
STAR RULER - out of position at the start. Driver B Williamson was warned to ensure he maintains his barrier position until the dispatch point is reached.
Race 4   MLT / THREE RIVERS HOTEL TROT
MISS BAMBOOCHA - junior driver M Hurrell reported he did not activate the removable deafeners applied to the mare due to the cord breaking.
AYUTTHAYA - weakened rounding the final bend.
JACCKA JOSH - trotted roughly throughout. Weakened rounding the final bend. Driver B Barclay confirmed the gelding had trotted roughly throughout.
Race 5   MLT / PIONEER TAVERN MOBILE PACE
CAB CALLOWAY - held up in the early to middle stages of the home straight.
PADDY FINN - raced greenly early in the score-up and was out of position at the start. Raced wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.
YANKEE SHARD - over-raced in the middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
MAKARA - paced roughly then broke near the 350 metres. Driver A Beck advised he would be recommending gear changes prior to the gelding racing next.
Race 6   KUBALA SEEDS STELLA FROST STAKES FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
SWELL TIME - over-raced in the early stages.
RENEGADE ROSE - hung outwards in the home straight.
MIGHT BE ME - broke near the 60 metres and continued in a break across the finish line. Stewards lodged a Protest into 4th placing being awarded alleging the mare had breached the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking in excess of 50 metres in the final 200 metres of the race. After viewing the replays and hearing from driver A Beck the JCA upheld the Protest and disqualified MIGHT BE ME from 4th placing.
Race 7   MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE
BENIO BEN - broke in the score-up losing its chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
STUN GUN - hung inwards and struck pylons on the final bend.
PLEASE SHUDDUP - driver B Barclay reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners applied to the gelding due to the cord breaking.
Race 8   WYNDHAM WORKOUTS TROT
GAZZA GALLEON - broke racing into the first bend.
SEA ROVER - driver B Williamson reported the gelding had trotted roughly throughout and had proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Trainer A Hoffman advised she would have her Veterinarian examine the gelding in the coming days and notify the Stewards of the results.
BIG IRON - broke at the start. Broke again rounding the first bend.
EMMA FROST - broke passing the 400 metres.
HORSE OF COURSE - driver R McIlwrick was shown the replays of the final bend and spoken to advisedly regarding shifting ground when insufficiently clear.
HELLUVA WAY - weakened from the 700 metres.
HUMBLE LADD - trotted roughly throughout the home straight and was unable to be driven out by driver P Williamson.
SEKKIE MONKEY - the scalping boots were removed prior to the start.
Race 9   FRANKS MOTORCYCLES & 4 SPARES HANDICAP PACE
KAGEE VC - broke at the start.
DANGEROUS - broke near the 1900 metres losing considerable ground.
TARTAN ROBYN - slow to begin.
POCKET CALL - broke at the start. Raced wide throughout.
MAIDONTHEBEACH - locked wheels with TRIPLE BYPASS when competing for a position racing into the first bend and broke briefly in consequence. Hampered by a breaking runner passing the 1900 metres. Held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight.
KOTARE ELITE - held up rounding the final bend.
TRIPLE BYPASS - locked wheels with MAIDONTHEBEACH when competing for a position and easing that runner down the track racing into the first bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised the gelding had traveled well throughout however had disappointed when asked for an effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with trainer R Todd.
ELVA JACCKA - trainer B Gray was issued a warning when presenting this runner without the notified Sliding Blinds. Raced wide in the early stages.
Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 12 November that TRIPLE BYPASS has recovered well following its disappointing performance last week and will continue with its current preparation.
Race 10   MORE RACING HERE 17TH NOVEMBER MOBILE PACE
FUN IN THE DARK - weakened rounding the final bend. Driver C Ferguson advised the mare was unsuited to racing in the parked position.
DIANNE LORENA - broke briefly racing into the first bend.
CAST A SHADOW - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained.
PEMBROOK PLAYBOY - had to be restrained when hampered late in the run home. Stewards delayed the all clear as N Williamson, driver of the 3rd placed PEMBROOK PLAYBOY requested to view the replays to ascertain whether he had grounds for a Protest against the 1st placed DIAMOND PARTY alleging interference in the home straight. After viewing the replays Mr Williamson elected not to proceed with the matter and the all clear was given.
SEE YA WRITE - had to be restrained when hampered late in the run home.
DIAMOND PARTY - lay out in the home straight before veering outwards sharply passing the 20 metres despite the efforts of Junior Driver A Cameron, hampering PEMBROOK PLAYBOY and SEE YA WRITE, then fell to the track just after the finish line. Junior Driver A Cameron was uninjured in the incident. A subsequent veterinary examination of DIAMOND PARTY revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stood down to trial to the Stewards satisfaction on one occasion prior to racing next. Trainer M Purvis advised he would be making gear changes.
