Race 1   BLACK DOG FURNITURE MOBILE PACE
HIGHVIEW JUSTICE - held up early final turn.
HIGH POINT - raced keenly during the middle stages when leading. Driver M Northcott admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) in that she used her whip on more occasions than permitted under Clause (b) of the 'Use of the Whip' Regulations with the JCA imposing a fine of $200.00
ROMANITE - no claims were lodged.
MR INCREDIBLE - held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
Race 2   DUNSTAN HORSE FEEDS MOBILE PACE
DRAGON TATTOO - held up early final turn.
SARANDON - paced roughly shortly after the start and broke briefly. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners record. Raced three wide early before crossing to race outside the leader near the 1600m.
MANHATTAN SUNSHINE - raced three wide early before being restrained to the rear. Locked wheels briefly near the 70m.
CLASSEY ROBIN - Trainer D Gale was charged a $25.00 colour fee. Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners record. Over-raced in the middle stages.
TOREA LANE - shifted in and locked wheels briefly near the 70m.
ROYAL - raced roughly rounding the final turn. Held up briefly entering the final straight and had difficulty obtaining clear running thereafter.
Race 3   KEMBLA NZ HANDICAP TROT
STRENGTH OF HEART - took fright when the barrier was released and swung sideways making contact with the sulky of MONSINEE.
MONSINEE - checked shortly after the start and as a result was slow to begin. Broke approaching the first turn but soon settled.
TARUKENGA - broke at the start and trailed the field.
EMPRESS OF THE SUN - broke at the start losing all chance.
CALL ME STU - slow away. Appeared to knuckle over in behind near the 300m then trotted roughly and mixed its gait for some distance. A post race veterinary examination revealed mild pain in the left lumber region.
STILL EYRE - held up final straight.
Race 4   DUX INDUSTRIES HANDICAP TROT
PRETORIUS - stood on the mark and refused to step away losing all chance. A warning was put on the gelding's barrier manners record. Trainer D Moore advised that the gelding would be turned out for a spell.
SECRETOFTHESEA SMILE - broke passing the 2400m losing ground. Weakened final turn.
MAJESTIC STRIDE - broke near the 400m losing ground before settling.
DANKE - was taken forward and unsuccessfully contested for the lead entering the back straight inside the 1800m. Lay in and broke approaching the 1400m losing ground before settling. Weakened final stages. Driver G Martin reported that the gelding had cast a shoe over the early stages.
NATTY PAGGER - broke entering the first turn losing considerable ground.
SAFRAKOVA - Trainer L Chin was cautioned for presenting the mare without the notified blinds which were affixed prior to the start.
AORAKI - weakened final stages.
Race 5   HYDROFLOW MOBILE PACE
GO TODDY - commenced to over-race entering the back straight the first time and was taken away from the marker line which resulted in MIRACLE MOOSE being forced to race wider on the track briefly. Continued to over-race middle stages. Commenced to give ground near the 800m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners record.
MIRACLE MOOSE - inconvenienced passing the 1600m when forced to race wider on the track briefly. Held up throughout the final straight. Driver T Cameron was questioned regarding the manner in which he drove on entering the front straight for the run home when he elected to shift out off the back of ABOUT TURN. Mr Cameron stated that he elected initially to look to follow ABOUT TURN but then shifted out off that runner's back when it commenced to improve down towards the passing lane as he was unaware that FLYING STEPS (leader) had shifted ground outwards on reaching the passing lane which meant there would have been a run available to the inside of ABOUT TURN. After considering the matter, no further action was deemed necessary other than to note the circumstances.
TROUBADOR - broke near the 900m when contesting for the lead but soon settled. Broke again near the 500m and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners record. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
Race 6   DIRECT GROUP UNIFORMS MOBILE PACE
HARVEY SPECTER - held up early final turn.
BILLY IDOL - held up at various stages of the run home and had to shift ground to obtain clear running.
SABREUR - raced three wide early before improving forward to lead near the 1700m.
BART MAGUIRE - checked and broke near the 1100m losing its chance.
BROOKIES JAFFA - raced three wide without cover from the 1200m.
DRUM BEAT - raced roughly shortly after the start.
MAJOR MAC - broke near the 1100m checking a trailing runner and lost its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
MOZASU - Co-trainers J & J Dickie were cautioned for presenting the gelding without the notified blinds which were affixed prior to the start. Raced three wide early before obtaining a position in midfield. Locked wheels briefly passing the 650m. Held up early final turn.
SOUTH COAST ARDEN - locked wheels briefly passing the 650m. Lay in rounding the final turn. Driver B Mangos was cautioned for applying the whip on one occasion on the home turn with his foot out of the sulky footrest.
OUTLANDER - lay in during the score up and was back from the Unruly position at dispatch. Inconvenienced by breaking runners near the 1100m.
Race 7   PLUMBING WORLD MOBILE PACE
MHAI TICKLED PINK - weakened in the run home.
RED ATOM - back a length at dispatch. Junior Driver K Blakemore was cautioned to maintain her position until the start in the future. Miss Blakemore was shown the replay with the assistance of Senior Horseman J Abernethy and reprimanded for the manner in which she drove approaching and rounding the final turn when allowing her runner to race wider than necessary. Miss Blakemore was also spoken to advisedly in relation to her apparent lack of vigour over the final stages.
PETER FORSBERG - raced three wide early before settling in midfield. Gave ground from the 400m.
CALLIE'S DELIGHT - raced three wide early before improving to lead near the 1600m.
RUNCLE - raced three wide from the 1100m and was left without cover from the 1000m. Lay in rounding the final turn before weakening. Junior Driver A Drake reported that the gelding cast a shoe near the 300m.
Race 8   MASTERLINK MOBILE PACE
TURKISH TROUSERS - raced roughly shortly after the start.
ARTY PHARTY - trailed on the outer but was under pressure on the final turn and failed to run on to finish at the rear. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections regarding the gelding's recovery in coming days.
ALLONBLACK - raced three wide without cover until restrained back to the rear near the 1100m. Held up entering the final straight.
BEAUDIENE EMERALD - held up early final turn.
BUGALUGS - pulled hard in the score up. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Held up until near the 100m with Driver P Ferguson reporting that he did not activate the deafeners as a result.
Race 9   MICO PLUMBING & BATHROOMS MOBILE PACE
ACE STRIKE - held up early final turn.
IDEAL AGENT - Driver L Neal reported that the colt had been reluctant to shift down to take the run in the passing lane early in the run home and that her right foot had slipped from the sulky footrest near the 50m when driving IDEAL AGENT out.
CAPTAIN MAX - raced roughly under pressure near the 100m when weakening.
