Race 1   HENRY'S KAIKOURA & DUNLEA PRODUCTS LTD MOBILE PACE
RAKE - Shifted inwards in the early stages crowding the racing room of inside runners. Driver S Wigg was issued with a warning. Attempted to shift outwards near the 800 metres and broke after making contact with the sulky of EL CAPITAN checking the trailing XMAS BAY and PAT CAMPBELL. Driver S Wigg admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly at this stage with the JCA imposing a $300 fine.
ALL NUTS N BOLTS - Raced wide in the early stages.
BLACK ART - Lay outwards in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole, continued to lay outwards in the early stages before breaking. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
DONEGAL CARRICKFIN - Held up in the early stages of the run home.
RUSSIAN EXPRESS - Raced wide in the early stages.
EL CAPITAN - Crowded for racing room in the early stages and had to be steadied. Hampered near the 900 metres causing driver C Wigg to become unbalanced in the sulky. Raced wide from the 1000 metres.
XMAS BAY - Crowded in the early stages and raced roughly in consequence. Checked near the 900 metres losing some ground.
PAT CAMPBELL hampered near the 800 metres.
Race 2   LOBSTER INN TAVERN TROT
INHERENT ROYAL - Broke near the 500 metres.
HALFWAY THERE - Broke at the start losing ground, again broke after 200 metres.
MAUI VACATION - Slow in the early stages and got back as a result.
AMERICAN PRIDE - Broke at the start losing considerable ground.
Race 3   FASTTRACK $2.5K ADDED STAKES MOBILE PACE
SHADOWMAN - Weakened near the 500 metres.
RUBY TUES BAY - Paced roughly as the start was effected. Raced wide through the early stages until restrained to last. Held up by a weakening runner between the 500 and 400 metres losing ground in consequence.
KACIE CULLEN - Lowered its head on several occasions as the mobile was moving away causing the deafeners to release and despite the attempts of starter's assistants was not able to have these reinserted. Out of position at the start. Raced wide from the 800 metres. When spoken to regarding the mare's performance, driver M Anderson explained his runner had over raced throughout.
DIXIE JAZZ - Over raced during the middle stages. Broke near the 650 metres.
Race 4   THE FAMOUS GROUSE LINCOLN PACE
PROSPECT PARK - Shifted out abruptly at the start.
SCOTLYNN ON THEBEACH - Hampered at the start.
KENYA - Broke in the early stages and was then hampered. Driver S Payne advised he dropped his whip near the 600 metres.
JUMPING BADGER - Lost ground near the 2100 metres however regained its position in the field near the 1000 metres.
CONQUISTADOR - Broke at the start losing its chance.
Race 5   MORE FM MARLBOROUGH MOBILE PACE
MAGICOL IDEAL - Out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver S Thornley. Shifted outwards near the 1300 metres hampering TIEBREAKER. Driver S Thornley was spoken to regarding this incident however when considering the evidence of driver S O'Reilly and Mr Thornley's inexperience, Stewards took the matter no further other than reminding him to ensure he exercises caution at all times. Weakened near the 500 metres.
MARKHAM EYRE - Attempted to get its head under the barrier arm and raced roughly in consequence. Weakened near the 500 metres.
ROCKNROLL ROD - Lay outwards in the score up and early stages causing THE GOVERNOR to shift outwards after 100 metres.
THE GOVERNOR - Dictated outwards in the early stages and made contact with DELIGHT OF TEXAS. Held up rounding the final bend.
DELIGHT OF TEXAS - Checked and broke after 100 metres with the mare suffering a broken hopple loop and was retired from the race. Driver O Thornley reported the mare to have lost a shoe.
I'M TOUGH - Driver S Smith reported his left wheel to have punctured in the early stages which had a considerable bearing on his gelding's chances.
TIEBREAKER - Paced roughly near the 1300 metres and when doing so sustained a broken hopple loop with the gelding retired from the race soon after. When spoken to regarding this, driver S O'Reilly reported that the gelding had paced roughly leading up to the incident and then broken when steadied to accommodate the shift outwards of MAGICOL IDEAL.
Race 6   LION FILLIES & MARES MOBILE TROT
ROCKNPOP - Tired rounding the final bend. Trotted roughly approaching the 250 metres and then broke.
SUGAR CANE - Driver L McCormick was spoken to regarding the manner in which he drove rounding the final bend when shifting inwards causing MISS MOPPET to be taken over pylons.
GIRLS LET LOOSE - Trotted roughly at the rear at the start and was out of position. Broke when attempting to lead near the 800 metres. Broke again at the 700 metres. Again broke near the 250 metres. A warning was placed on the mare's racing record.
MONRIKA - Trotted roughly at the rear at the start and was out of position.
MISS MOPPET - Weakened on the final bend and was then shifted inwards over several track markers having to be steadied. When spoken to regarding the mare's performance trainer M Purvis advised she had been unsuited to the Kaikoura track and failed to handle the bends.
