Race 2 - SOUTHERN WINES MOBILE PACE
Trainer L McCormick advised Stewards on 28 October that blood tests taken from SHADOW DANCER following its disappointing performance at Oamaru on Thursday revealed no abnormalities with Mr McCormick adding that the mare will continue with her current preparation.

Race 1   ZILCO NZ/MORRISONS SADDLERY & FEED PACE
OFF THE EDGE - broke at the start.
PROSPECT PARK - paced roughly when being restrained to trail near the 1500 metres after an unsuccessful attempt for the front. Paced roughly passing the 150 metres having to be steadied for several strides.
GOTTA C TINTIN - broke at the start. Driver J Herbert advised it was her intention to recommend hopple shorteners be added to the gelding's gear.
WEBS REACTOR - began awkwardly.
Race 2   ASHBURTON GUARDIAN TROT
TONIQUE DE FEU - broke at the start and lost its chance.
ARDEE TROUBLE - broke shortly after the start losing its chance. Declared unruly for standing starts at the trainer's request.
FLYING MONKEY - trotted roughly through the middle stages. Broke near the 500 metres.
ROGIE FALLS - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as the gelding appeared lame in the preliminary at which point was found to have cast a shoe. The start was delayed while the shoe was reapplied however when re-vetted following this, was found to still be lame in the near fore leg and consequently declared a late scratching. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
DD'S SUPER STUART - broke shortly after the start.
BOYZ INVASION - broke after 150 metres. A final warning was placed on the gelding's racing record. Trainer M Heenan advised it was his intention to try the horse from behind the mobile.
Race 3   MAINLAND WOOL MOBILE PACE
NIRVANA BEACH - lay outwards marginally near the 250 metres when weakening locking wheels with ROLL THE DICE. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver R May advised the gelding had travelled well throughout however had disappointed him with its efforts inside the final 200 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards with follow up with trainer B Hill in the coming days.
BURNHAM BOY - driver S Ottley reported she lost her whip at the entrance to the passing lane.
THE GENERAL - briefly disappointed for clear racing room with 50 metres remaining.
ROLL THE DICE - lay inwards when under pressure entering the final straight and briefly locked wheels with NIRVANA BEACH which had shifted out marginally.
DAN FERNANDO - lay inwards through the score up and was out of position at the start. Notwithstanding this, driver M Anderson was spoken to regarding his obligation to make every effort to ensure his horse is in position.
Race 4   THE PHAT DUCK HANDICAP PACE
VICTOR TANGO - underwent a veterinary examination after completing its preliminary and was declared a late scratching on Vet's advice due to being lame. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
SILK - reared at the start and refused to move away checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
HEISENBERG - checked at the start losing ground.
BALTIMORE JACK - hampered at the start. Broke after 200 metres losing its chance.
YORKSHIRE - caused driver C Thornley some difficulty behind the barrier when reluctant to shift position causing a delay to the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
FRANCO HAMPTON - over-raced through the middle stages.
HOMEBUSH LAD - checked at the start.
Race 5   CYRIL HAY MEMORIAL TROT
ALI LINDENNY - the off side quick hitch sulky attachment came undone during the running however the shaft remained secured by the safety strap.
CLYDE - raced parked throughout and gave ground from the 400 metres.
IDLE STUARTIA - broke after 100 metres losing its chance.
ESCARGO - weakened on the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled. Stood down for the mandatory 30 days with a veterinary clearance including the results of a clear scope required prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
YOU REALLY GOT ME - broke at the start and lost its chance.
Race 6   WHAT THE HILL ASHBURTON TROTTERS FLYING MILE (MOB TROT)
GREAT THINGS HAPPEN - was unable to hold the trail behind MARCOOLA inside the final 800 metres weakening over the final stages to finish 29 lengths from the winner. When questioned regarding the performance, trainer/driver G Smith was unable to offer any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an elevated heart rate. Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days.
DESTINY JONES - held up by a weakening runner between the 800 metres and the 400 metres causing the mare to lose significant ground.
SUNDEES SON - broke passing the 200 metres for approx 80 metres and was disqualified from 4th placing by the JCA. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
WINTERFELL - trotted roughly when being restrained racing into the first bend then broke losing its chance.
WOODSTONE - broke near the 400 metres.
Race 7   MID CANTERBURY TROTTING OWNERS LADIES MILE (MOB PACE)
NAKURU - raced wide in the early stages until being taken forward to race outside the leader.
IVANA FLYBYE - held up late in the run home having to change ground to obtain clear running. Driver G Smith reported the mare to have given him some difficulty steering throughout.
BETTOR'S HEART - held up in the early stages of the run home.
CHANGE IS GOOD - when spoken to regarding the mare's improved performance, stable representative M Anderson explained his horse had been suited to today's short distance and had derived considerable benefit from its first up run at Methven on the 13th of October.
VINNIE RULZ - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
Race 8   ASHBURTON MSA LIQOUR CENTRE FLYING STAKES (STAND PACE)
A G'S WHITE SOCKS - broke shortly after the start. Driver R May reported that one hopple shortener had released early. Co-trainer G Hope advised Stewards the gelding had returned to the stables with two broken hopple shorteners.
SELF ASSURED - broke at the start.
ULTIMATE SNIPER - raced wide from the 700 metres.
CRUZ BROMAC - tangled and began awkwardly. Raced roughly approaching the 350 metres then broke leaving the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
Race 9   FASTTRACK INSURANCE $2.5K ADDED HANDICAP TROT
MISSIE CASTLETON - broke at the start.
MAJESTIC SUNSET - broke after 100 metres.
GLOBE TREKKER - broke after 100 metres.
IDEAL INVASION - broke after 100 metres. Again broke on the first bend near the 2000 metres. Will now be drawn unruly for standing starts.
OVERZEALOUS - over-raced middle stages. Held up in the early stages of the run home.
IDLE MOOSE - hampered at the start.
MR FAHRENHEIT - broke at the 700 metres.
KING CASSIDY - trotted roughly through the middle stages. Broke at the 750 metres.
THE DOMINATOR - broke at the start losing its chance.
VALLORIA - trotted roughly approaching the 400 metres.
Race 10   EA NETWORKS MOBILE PACE
RAH DE RAH - raced roughly shortly after the start when over-racing and making contact with the sulky wheel of J B MAUNEY. Stewards questioned driver R Holmes regarding the manner he drove on the first bend when heavily restraining his gelding which enabled FRANCO TEXAS (B Laughton) to shift inwards and take a trailing position. Mr Holmes explained that he had been beaten for early speed and in his opinion had lost the trailing position to FRANCO TEXAS which was shifting inwards. Mr Holmes then said that his horse had raced fiercely and proved uncontrollable for some distance so called to Mr Laughton for extra racing room which Mr Laughton had been able to provide. Soon after Mr Holmes was able to restrain sufficiently to allow FRANCO TEXAS back into the trail. After taking evidence from B Laughton no further action was required.
FRANCO TEXAS - over-raced middle stages.
JAZZY STAR - raced wide early stages. Over-raced near the 1800 metres.
