Race 1   THANKS MARK MAC, WELCOME MATT CROSS PACE
CHANGEOVER JO - stood on the mark losing considerable ground and checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier manners of this mare.
CHALBERG - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room for a short distance in the middle stages of the run home.
JUST MICHAEL - broke at the start. Had to be steadied due to the easing of the pace near the 1100 metres. Had to again be steadied over the final stages and was steadied due to an inside horse laying out.
THE CONSULTANT - broke at the start. Broke briefly racing over the crossing. Stumbled and broke near the 500 metres. Stood down pending a satisfactory trial. Trainer J Curtin advised that the gelding would not be persevered with as a racing prospect from his stable.
MY MAN ROOSTER - broke racing over the crossing. Checked and broke near the 500 metres and fell to the track near the 400 metres. A post-race Veterinary Inspection revealed no obvious injuries. Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days regarding the recovery of the colt.
PRODIGAL GUINNESS - checked after the start by a runner which stood on the mark and lost significant ground. Checked by a breaking runner at the 500 metres.
SILENT RAPTURE - over raced through the middle stages. Lay out over the final stages.
JACKS ANNE - had to be steadied due to the easing of the pace near the 1100 metres.
FUSITUA - had to be steadied due to the easing of the pace near the 1100 metres.
Race 2   JEAN ANDERSON MEMORIAL TROT
SILVER SURFER - broke racing over the crossing.
FLYIN MANDY - pre-race warmed. Fractious just prior to the start with driver G Chmiel circling in the incorrect order as a result. Ms Chmiel was spoken to advisedly regarding this. Was back out of position at the start due to AWESOME IMPEE beginning out of position. Began awkwardly.
AWESOME IMPEE - broke in the early stages. Broke near the 150 metres. Driver P Wakelin was warned for starting out of position at the start causing FLYIN MANDY also to be out of position.
ALDEBARAN BELLE - broke at the start.
SALLY LINDENNY - broke at the start.
THE ARTFUL DODGER - broke near the 200 metres.
EILISH HALL - broke at the start.
MARANATHA ATLAS - checked by a breaking runner near the 200 metres then broke near the 150 metres.
KOWHAI SUNDOWN - trotted roughly in the final stages and had to be steadied.
DD'S SUPER STUART - broke at the start. Hung inwards early in the run home.
ILSAS SON - broke at the start.
JUST ANOTHER LEGEND - broke at the start losing all chance.
Race 3   CAN'T KILL A WEED! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PETE PACE
The field was turned away prior to the start due to MELODY POND contacting the tape.
DONEGAL DAVY BOYD - the required Veterinary clearance was received.
GENELIS - the required Veterinary clearance was received. Over raced middle stages. Driver/Trainer R Cameron advised that it is his intention to add deafeners prior to the horses next start.
WAIHEMO HANNAH - broke shortly after the start.
MELODY POND - fractious just prior to the start. Hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Broke for several strides at the 800 metres when placed into restricted racing room. After speaking with drivers R Anderson and T Chmiel regarding this Mr Anderson was warned for attempting a marginal run that he was not entitled to at the time.
BOILOVER - broke at the start. Paced roughly prior to breaking briefly on the final bend.
JUST A SMILE - broke at the start.
BEAU MAJOR - over raced over the middle stages. Hung in throughout the run home.
Race 4   NOEL SPICER MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
DUKE - checked and lost its chance shortly after the start.
TICKING OVER - broke as the start was initiated then shifted inwards abruptly locking wheels with DUKE causing both runners to lose their chance. Stood down pending a satisfactory mobile trial.
CARITA - over raced middle stages then broke near the 1300 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of this gelding.
RACHEL ALEXANDRA - weakened from the 800 metres. A post-race Veterinary Inspection showed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer B Weaver advised that the mare will no longer remain a racing prospect from his stable.
ROCKNTOMMY RULZ - raced wide into the first bend.
CALYPSO ROCK - lay outwards through the run home. Driver/Trainer R Houghton was unable to activate the removable deafeners. A warning was placed on his record in that the gear had not been correctly applied so as not to malfunction.
FRAUD - badly checked at the start losing considerable ground.
STEVIE LYNN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1300 metres. Hung inwards through the run home.
GOTTA PARTY DOLL - Driver B Weaver was fined $200 under Rule 869 (2) and Whip Regulation (b) for using his whip on more occasions than is permitted.
JIVE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1300 metres.
Race 5   CLASSIC FLOATS NZ HANDICAP PACE
A false start was declared due to the 20 metre tape not releasing.
WILD EXCUSE - was crowded late in the run home.
KARDESLER - hung out late in the run home crowding outside runners.
HE'S A LADIES MAN - broke at the start.
BOBBY T - contributed to the delayed start with poor manners and a warning was placed on the horses barrier record. Broke at the start.
UNICO LEGEND - crowded late in the run home.
HOMEBUSH LAD - paced roughly in the final stages.
LINTON SHARD - paced roughly at the start. Weakened near the 600 metres.
THE TIN SOLDIER - contributed to the delayed start with poor manners and a warning was placed on the horses barrier record. Over raced middle stages. Trainer B Mowbray advised that the gelding would not be persevered with as a racing prospect from his stable.
POCKET CALL - contributed to the delayed start with poor manners and a warning was placed on the horses barrier record.
Race 6   GAVELHOUSE.COM JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
MY NIKAYLA - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S Thornley. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Paced roughly middle and late stages of the run home.
WITH THE BAND - driver B Laughton will be spoken to regarding the use of his whip when out of contention.
Race 7   MAJESTIC SON DG JONES MEMORIAL TROTTING CUP (HCP TROT)
ENGHIEN required a sulky change delaying the start of the race.
LOVEY DOVEY MOMENT - trotted roughly throughout the run home.
MEDUSA - trotted roughly throughout. Driver K Cameron explained the horse had again trotted awkwardly through the early and middle stages but slowly improved as the race went on. He added that the horse had switched to a pace for several strides when pressured near the top of the straight.
MATUA TANA - trotted roughly at the start. Broke at the first bend.
AMARETTO SUN - broke at the start.
ENGHIEN - trotted roughly through various stages. Broke briefly racing over the crossing. Broke briefly again with 500 metres to run. When spoken to B Hope reported the horse had not been entirely comfortable in today's track conditions, believing the track to be slightly softer than ideal for the gelding.
WINTERFELL - when questioned regarding the horses performance driver T Williams was not able to offer any explanation.
Race 8   ADVANCED JOINERY MOBILE PACE
SNOW PRINTZ - paced roughly near the 1800 metres. Broke with 200 metres to run. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the gelding. The connections advised they would be reassessing the geldings position in their racing barn.
VICTOR TANGO - paced roughly on the home bend.
PAY ME SWISS - broke in the score-up. Was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the mobile record of the mare.
Race 9   "WHAT THE HILL" FAST, FRESH & FERTILE HANDICAP TROT
FOREIGNER - broke at the start.
RACHMANINOV - broke at the start.
I'LDOITMYWAY - over raced through the middle stages. Weakened from the home turn.
ALI LINDENNY - held up early stages of the run home.
MIKEMARO - broke at the start.
DR CLIFF - over raced through the middle stages. Broke at the 550 metres and again near the 400 metres.
TONIQUE DE FEU - the required Veterinary clearance was received. Pre-race warmed. Broke at the start. Weakened from the 600 metres.
IDEAL INVASION - broke briefly racing into the first bend.
ONE OVER DOVER - lost a knee boot racing near the 2000 metres.
IN SEQUENCE - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start then broke racing round the first bend. Was retired from the race.
WITH ICE - broke shortly at the start.
Race 10   COUNTRY FEASTS MOBILE PACE
LEADING THE WAY - raced wide into the first bend.
ROLLOVA - paced roughly at the 100 metres.
PROACTOR - broke in the score-up and was out of position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the barrier records of the gelding.
SWEENEY TODD - raced wide into the first bend.
PHOENIX ARIZONA - paced roughly at various stages throughout the running.
