Race 8 - DAVID OVENS BUILDING MOBILE PACE
Stewards have completed an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding KANSAS CITY JIM (R McIlwrick) competing in and completing this race after appearing to be noticeably awkward in its action throughout the preliminary and event itself. Resulting from this inquiry Stewards deemed that the gait of KANSAS CITY JIM was so obviously uncomfortable that it should have been of sufficient concern to Mr McIlwrick to warrant retiring that runner from the race. Accordingly Mr McIlwrick has been reprimanded for failing to demonstrate the standard required of a competent Horseman.
Forbury Park TC - Sunday, 1st September 2019

Trainer B Negus advised Stewards that SILENT SHADOW was found to be suffering from a greasy heel after racing at Forbury Park last week and has been sent for a short spell.

Race 1   WHAT THE HILL TROTTING SENSATION HANDICAP TROT
RUGGED PEAK - broke rounding the first bend.
HELLUVA WAY - broke after 100 metres.
WHANGAMATA - weakened from the 700 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
MYARA - broke racing into the first bend.
APOLLO MISSION - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
LARCH - broke at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend. Held up by a tiring runner near the 600 metres. Trotted roughly rounding the final bend.
SVELT - fractious prior to the start and breached the 35 metres barrier stand causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke racing into the first bend and again on several further occasions during the running. Veered outwards abruptly nearing the 1300 metres dislodging driver K Franks from the sulky. Mr Franks was uninjured in this incident. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Trainer K Franks advised he would no longer be persevering with the mare as a racing proposition from his stable.
SPURRED BY SUCCESS - stood on the mark as the tapes were released, taking no serious part in the event. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
THE REV - broke after 100 metres.
Race 2   WINTON WORKOUTS MOBILE PACE
IRON WOMAN - paced roughly racing into the first bend and had to be steadied.
MARSUE - held up for clear racing room in the home straight.
JAMIES BAD BOY - held up in the middle stages of the run home. Broke near the 100 metres and continued in a break for some distance. Stewards lodged a Protest against 5th placing being awarded to this runner pursuant to Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horse Regulations, alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 50 metres in the final 200 metres of the race. Junior driver B Laughton representing connections elected not to contest the Protest and after viewing replays the JCA disqualified JAMIES BAD BOY from 5th placing.
PLUTONIUM LADY - Driver B Orange reported he did not activate the removable deafeners applied to the filly due to having the field covered.
PHOEBE'S DELIGHT - out of position at the start. Driver B McLellan was issued a Minor Infringement Notice pursuant to Rule 857(7)(g) and fined $100.
Race 3   TREVOR PROCTOR PAINTER FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
KICKUPYAHEELS - raced greenly at various stages in the home straight. Authorisation of dividends was withheld until trainer/driver R Swain had the opportunity to view the films to ascertain whether his runner was impeded by NEED YOU NOW on his outside, just prior to the winning post. After viewing the replays Mr Swain elected not to proceed with a Protest and all placings were duly authorised.
NEED YOU NOW - lay inwards over the final stages and locked wheels with KICKUPYAHEELS just prior to the winning post.
INDULGENCE - raced wide in the early stages.
PAYMENT PLAN - paced roughly late in the score-up.
ESTHER JACCKA - paced roughly late in the score-up.
Race 4   PHILLIPS HORSE TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
TYRON'S BIT OF LEMON - momentarily raced wider on the track passing the 1800 metres when GLENLEDI CAPTAIN improved forward on its inside.
NEVILL LANE - held up by a tiring runner on the final bend.
DEUS EX - paced roughly near the 1900 metres when being restrained to take cover.
PICK SIX TELF - back off the gate slightly at the start despite the efforts of driver B Barclay. Weakened on the final bend. Paced roughly over the concluding stages.
GLENLEDI CAPTAIN - Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule passing the 1800 metres. After viewing the relevant footage and speaking with driver P Hunter, Stewards accepted the explanation tendered and took the matter no further.
Race 5   A W KYLE BUILDER MOBILE PACE
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - held up rounding the final bend.
WOLF WEST - raced wide in the early stages.
DREAMINSOVER - held up rounding the final bend.
RUNNING ON EMPTY - crowded by an outside runner in the early stages of the home straight.
MAN I'M GOOD - held up near the 500 metres. Hung inwards in the early stages of the home straight.
FLAMING JIM - paced roughly in the early stages when being restrained to take cover.
Race 6   DOWNBYTHESEASIDE - FRESH FAST FERTILE MOBILE PACE
BOUND TO BE BETTOR - paced roughly on various occasions in the home straight.
ALEXY - held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
IVANA LEGACY - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver A Armour.
BETTERTHANBRIE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver K Barclay.
AMORE LANCOME - held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
CANDIDASA - paced roughly when improving forward passing the 700 metres.
HAZER - paced roughly when forced wider on the track rounding the final bend. Driver N Williamson reported that the gelding had over-raced on various occasions during the running.
KOTARE ELITE - raced wide in the early stages. Over-raced through the middle stages.
KINGMAKER - raced wide in the early stages. Driver M Williamson reported he was unable to activate the hopple shorteners applied to the gelding after becoming entangled.
WHATA RAZZLE DAZZLE - held up rounding the final bend, then had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight. Cleared from the Unruly for future mobile start engagements.
Race 7   ULTIMATE MACHETE AT ALABAR HANDICAP PACE
BALIUS - broke at the start.
ROBYNS PLAYBOY - paced roughly shortly after the start.
AIRPARK FLYER - paced roughly on various occasions during the running. Weakened from the 700 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg. The connections have been advised that a Veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again.
U MAY CULLECT - slow to begin.
Race 8   MAJESTIC SON AT ALABAR HANDICAP TROT
MISS BAMBOOCHA - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
WHATWILLBEEWILLBEE - broke passing the 400 metres.
DAVEY MAC - broke at the start. Weakened rounding the final bend.
AMABEDE - weakened from the 700 metres. When questioned regarding the performance junior driver S Tomlinson expressed disappointment however could offer no tangible explanation. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in both hind legs. Connections have been advised a Veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again.
RYDGEMONT SON - broke at the start losing all chance.
ROBBIE ROYALE - driver B Barclay was warned for the manner he used his whip in the home straight.
PICKETTS RIDGE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
Race 9   MACCA LODGE FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
CHEVRON FLIES - late scratching at 4.11 pm on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
SWIFT ROBYN - held up throughout the home straight.
BETTERTHANSPRAYING - when spoken to regarding the improved performance trainer B Gray advised that the horse performs best when able to lead and could offer no other explanation.
ANNIE FITZ - slightly out of position at the dispatch despite the efforts of junior driver M Hurrell.
IWANADANCEWITSUMBODY - over-raced on various occasions during the running.
DEPEND ON WASHIE - over-raced near the 900 metres.
Top
