I'LDOITMYWAY - broke in the early stages. Weakened from the 400 metres. | |
WINDSOR - lay inwards leaving the final bend and for a short distance was awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of DON'T LOOK BACK. | |
ALDEBARAN BONNY - broke briefly at the start. Over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to assume a trailing position and in doing so made contact with the right sulky wheel of UNIQUE MARSHALL. Broke passing the 2100 metres. Trotted roughly on the final bend. | |

When spoken to regarding his runner's performance, driver M Williamson explained the mare had travelled lethargically throughout and proved disappointing over the final stages. CARITA - very slow to leave the pre-race circle and as a result had to work harder than anticipated through the score up with the gelding some distance out of position at the start in consequence. The all clear was delayed until Stewards had reviewed the start and determined that the horse had gained a fair start. Stood down pending a satisfactory trial. Raced roughly under pressure on the final bend. | |
A DELIGHTFUL ACT - hung inwards passing the 1000 metres. Lay inwards when improving wide on the track near the 400 metres. Continued to lay inwards through the final straight. Locked wheels with LOUIS LITT over the final stages as a result of TERROR THE CHRISTIAN shifting outwards slightly through the final straight. The all clear was delayed until trainer M Kerr and driver M Anderson reviewed the films of the final stages to determine whether LOUIS LITT (winner) caused their runner interference. After reviewing the films, connections advised that they did not wish to proceed with a protest. | |

YORKSHIRE - paced roughly in the early stages when being driven forward in an attempt to find the front with the gelding being restrained to trail in consequence. Hung outwards strongly approaching the 800 metres and then broke losing ground and inconvenienced a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record. Hung inwards and struck track markers on the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance, driver C Thornley reported the gelding to have raced greenly and shifted ground abruptly, adding that he believed the horse will derive benefit from racing experience. | |

FRANKIE JONES - driver B Hope reported that he had difficulty steering his gelding on the bends. Trainer T Yesberg advised that he would give consideration to changing the horse's bit but advised that in his opinion, may have raced greenly due to being fresh up today. | |

MATT DAMON - raced keenly through the middle stages and when driver S Smith attempted to shorten his grip on the reins, made contact with the left sulky wheel of UPTOWN LADY near the 1300 metres. | |
KARDESLER - over-raced throughout. Pulled fiercely approaching the 1000 metres into a gap in the two wide line and as a result became poorly positioned behind UPTOWN LADY with the entire making heavy contact with that runner's sulky and breaking. A warning was placed on the entire's racing record. | |
KINGMAKER - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Driver K Tomlinson reported that one shortener had failed to release causing the gelding to hang throughout. |

MASADA - raced roughly through the early stages then broke after 150 metres hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record. Weakened from the 1000 metres. | |

Driver J Keast reported that the entire had to do too much work throughout especially when considering the horse had trialled on Wednesday. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. | |

NIGHT SCHOOL - driver J Curtin advised that he had not released the deafeners after the mare had shifted inwards in the home straight when he attempted to release them. When questioned regarding the mare's improved performance, trainer B Hutton explained that he had not been surprised with tonight's forward showing following its run last week which he believed to be full of merit despite not being able to get into the race. | |
EVERY OPTION - held up on the final bend. Driver M Anderson's foot slipped from the sulky footrest in the run home. The chin rest came adrift on the gelding during the running. | |
FRANKIE D - out of position at the start. Driver J Cox was issued with a warning. Driver J Cox was questioned regarding his decision to not shift outwards near the 500 metres but instead retain his position in the one one. Mr Cox explained that he was mindful of the gelding performing poorly at its last start, so was reluctant to shift to a three wide position at this stage of the race. He added this decision was further supported by the gelding laying inwards on the final bend. The explanation of Mr Cox was accepted by Stewards. Held up on the final bend and early stages of the run home. Driver J Cox admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations and the JCA imposed a fine of $200. When spoken to regarding the improved performance, trainer K Butt advised she had altered the gelding's training regime after being disappointed with its effort last week. | |
