Race 1   FOOD AFFAIR / CARPET PLUS WILLY'S FLOORING MOBILE PACE
ALTA ENDEAVOUR - paced roughly throughout the home straight and was unable to be fully driven out.
VERGEOFGREATNESS - hung outwards entering the first bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a broken tooth which was removed.
PICK SIX TELF - lay inwards over the concluding stages.
MONGOLIAN MARSHAL - lay inwards shortly after the start. Over-raced through the middle stages.
SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS - Trainer G Anderson was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $50 pursuant to Rule 823(3) in that he failed to lodge a Horse Movement Notification for this gelding.
OLD LUKE - slow to leave the pre-race circle and then hung inwards in the early stages of the score-up, being back several lengths from the Unruly position at the start. Paced roughly throughout.
Race 2   FISKEN CONTRACTING/BAYNES MACHINERY JUNIOR DRIVERS MOB PACE
STICK MAN - hung inwards and struck a pylon exiting the bend by the 1300 metres. Driver J Morrison reported he did not activate the removable deafeners applied to the horse due to having the field covered.
CHAMPERS - out of position at the start despite the efforts of junior driver B Laughton.
CRUISIN REUBEN - out of position at the start despite the efforts of junior driver S Tomlinson. Hung inwards rounding the first bend. Over-raced through the middle stages.
IWANADANCEWITSUMBODY - out of position at the start despite the efforts of junior driver S O'Reilly. Over-raced on various occasions during the running.
Starter Mr B Ward was spoken to advisedly regarding the speed of the mobile in the score-up.
Race 3   SHANE MATHESON LTD CRUTCHING CONTRACTOR TROT
WHANGAMATA - broke at the start losing all chance.
JUSTAN'S SISTER - broke at the start.
MAJICION - hampered by a breaking runner at the 1300 metres. Trotted roughly passing the 1100 metres. Weakened on the final bend.
CROWN RANGE - slow to begin. Broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
THE NIGHT SWEATS - trotted roughly throughout the home straight and was unable to be fully driven out.
MUSCLE POWER - driver M Williamson reported that the gelding had hung on various occasions during the running.
KIWI HEIR - broke near the 1300 metres hampering a trailing runner. Broke again near the 300 metres.
Race 4   GWD MOTOR GROUP / TYRELAND GORE PACE
SHEZDAWON - slow to begin. Weakened on the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver T Williams reported the mare had felt lethargic throughout and he would be recommending it be sent for a spell which Trainer C Gerken confirmed.
OPAL - held up rounding the final bend.
LOISSONYA - held up rounding the final bend.
THE NAENAE EXPRESS - broke at the start and veered inwards sharply making contact with BETTER THANA MISSUS. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
RAFA NOVAK - paced roughly shortly after the start.
BETTER THANA MISSUS - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start, losing ground.
Race 5   KENTUCKIANA LODGE & NATHAN PURDON MOBILE PACE
BLIND SPOT - over-raced rounding the first bend.
RAZCAL ALLEY - weakened from the 1100 metres, eventually being pulled up from the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have suffered an atrial fibrillation. Connections were advised RAZCAL ALLEY is stood down pending a veterinary clearance which is to include the results of an ECG post strenuous exercise.
KENNINGTON GIRL - hung inwards when racing wide round the first bend. Weakened leaving the final bend.
MARSUE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Over-raced in the early stages.
HURRANIA THREE - over-raced rounding the final bend when held up for clear running.
SMOKIN ANNIE - hampered by a tiring runner rounding the final bend.
BONNY'S GEM - broke briefly near the 1700 metres after a slight easing of the pace. Over-raced through the middle stages.
Race 6   FOREST LODGE TAPANUI/HOWL AT THE MOON GORE HANDICAP TROT
MISS BAMBOOCHA - briefly hampered by a tiring runner passing the 400 metres.
APOLLO MISSION - Weakened from the 600 metres. Trotted roughly and broke near the 300 metres.
LARCH - trotted roughly in the early stages.
BARHAM BELLE - broke shortly after the start. Weakened from the 800 metres.
SVELT - broke at the start losing all chance and eventually being retired from the event.
WINNING BONES - broke at the start.
DAVEY MAC - broke at the start. Over-raced near the 1400 metres.
Race 7   FARMLANDS GORE / GALLAGHER NEW ZEALAND MOBILE PACE
CANDIDASA - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Broke racing into the first bend. Driver M Williamson reported the gelding had paced roughly round the bends.
HAZER - broke briefly shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened from the 600 metres and briefly locked sulky stays with SMARTER VC. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
SMARTER VC - hung inwards and briefly locked sulky stays with HAZER near the 600 metres after HAZER had been shifted wider on the track by an inside runner, resulting in junior driver A Cameron becoming unbalanced in the sulky.
STORM PRINCE - paced roughly and broke racing into the first bend, after attempting to shift an inside runner down the track. Weakened from the 400 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance junior driver J Morrison advised he was disappointed with the effort however could offer no tangible explanation. Mr Morrison was further spoken to regarding his horse breaking into the first bend. He explained that he had attempted to ease FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ down, but with CANDIDASA breaking on the inside, his horse had become unbalanced and broke when being moved out to avoid that runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - raced in restricted room racing into the first bend.
Race 8   GRAY RACING STABLES / BRENT BARCLAY MOBILE PACE
CARLO GAMBINO - hampered by a breaking runner passing the 400 metres. Held up for clear racing room exiting the final bend.
MATINEE IDOL - when spoken to regarding the performance driver M Williamson could offer no tangible explanation.
COUNTESS OF ARDEN - raced wide in the early stages.
BLACK OPS - raced wide until 1300 metres.
VIGOROSO - over-raced near the 1300 metres.
FATHERDANTHERODEOMAN - paced roughly and broke near the 400 metres. Again paced roughly and broke near the 200 metres.
DREAMINSOVER - weakened from the 450 metres.
Race 9   FAREWELL TO MLT'S TINY BRYNE MOBILE PACE
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - hung inwards on various occasions during the running. Raced wide from the 1000 metres.
TIN ROOF BLUES - weakened from the 800 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the mare's racing record.
RUNNING ON EMPTY - held up for racing room rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. Paced roughly over the concluding stages.
HOLY HAVOC - hung inwards racing into the first bend contacting several track markers.
THE RED ROBBER - raced wide in the early stages. Weakened on the final bend.
FUN IN THE DARK - out of position at the start. Junior driver A Cameron was issued with a warning. Hampered by a tiring runner on the final bend.
FLAMING JIM - paced roughly passing the 1600 metres before breaking for several strides due to an easing of the pace in the running line. Weakened from the 500 metres.
