Trainer B Mangos advised Stewards on 13 August that a bloodtest taken from BARE KNUCKLE had revealed the presence of a virus which had been treated with the mare continuing with its preparation.

Race 1   gavelhouse.com ENTRIES DUE WEDNESDAY MOBILE PACE
HELLO IT'S ME - raced 3 wide over the early stages before being restrained to the rear.
SUIDELIKE MAJOR - lay in during the score up and was a length out of position at the start.
NEW FRONTIER - commenced to over-race middle stages before being taken forward to the lead at the 1300 metres.
TEXAS TIGER - removed from the unruly list for mobile starts.
Race 2   NDA ENGINEERING TROT
PRINCE GEORGE - over-raced middle stages.
SIR HENRY CASTLETON - slow away.
LITTLE BRO - broke briefly approaching first turn. Held up rounding final turn.
GRENADO - became fractious and delayed start. A warning was placed on the gelding's standing start manners.
KIMKAR DASH - broke shortly after the start and lost its chance.
SAVITSKAYA - broke shortly after the start and lost its chance.
Race 3   MATAMATA CLUB MOBILE PACE
SUPER ACTOR - lay in throughout.
CAPTAIN MAX - raced outside the leader throughout before weakening inside the 300 metres.
SAUL GOOD - over-raced score up and early stages. Driver M McKendry was spoken to advisedly in regard to his position behind the mobile early in the score up. Mr McKendry explained that the gelding paced roughly when over-racing resulting in him being a length out of position at the start.
CARSE O FERN CULLY - lay out and weakened over the latter stages. Driver M White advised that the gelding tended to run away from the boring pole throughout.
Race 4   HORSE & JOCKEY INN TROT
SMARTLY SPOKEN - slow away after breaking for several strides. Declared unruly for standing starts at the trainer's request.
CHINSKI - paced then broke after start. Declared unruly for standing starts at the trainer's request.
MOUNT ASPIRING - broke passing the 800 metres.
COWBOY CASTLETON - mixed its gait over the initial stages then broke first turn losing ground. Broke again passing the 1500 metres and was retired from the event.
TE KOUKA SUN RISE - slow away and then checked by a galloping runner early losing ground. Broke approaching the 800 metres losing all chance.
Race 5   TRAC SPORTS BAR MOBILE PACE
RED MAGIC - over-raced middle stages. Driver T Mitchell advised he was unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the release cord coming adrift. A warning was placed on Trainer R Hughes' record in relation to this matter.
MOLLY DOOKER - lay in badly contacting track markers rounding the final turn.
MATAI GEORDIE - driver J Stormont advised he did not activate the removable deafeners on the winner.
CHARLOTTE ROYAL - raced 3 wide early before being restrained towards the rear. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
LIVE REACTOR - over-raced middle stages when at the rear.
TWO FIFTYEIGHT - held up for clear racing room until inside the final 100 metres.
Race 6   WILCOX FAMILY HANDICAP PACE
A delay to the start occurred due to the 10 metre barrier strand breaking.
NOTORIOUS - broke shortly after the start and shifted out checking another runner before trailing the field throughout.
YOUNG CONQUEROR - broke for several strides at the start and was slow to begin. Checked by a breaking runner shortly after.
IVANA FLYBYE - paced roughly for several strides passing the 300 metres.
BAILEYS KNIGHT - broke for several strides at the start and was slow to begin.
Race 7   COMAG LTD HANDICAP TROT
GREY STOKE - had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.
LOVELY BUNDY - improved 3 wide from inside the 1200 metres but was then obliged to remain 3 wide when unable to obtain the position outside the leader and weakened inside the final 400 metres. Driver J Stormont confirmed that the mid-race effort had taken its toll.
Race 8   DALTONS LTD MOBILE PACE
JACKHAMMER JOE - beaten for early speed before being improved from 3 deep on the markers passing the 1700 metres to unsuccessfully challenge for the lead. Commenced to over-race outside the leader from the 1200 metres before weakening inside the 400 metres inconveniencing a trailing runner. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Driver K Marshall advised that JACKHAMMER JOE had contacted it's sulky when the pace eased entering the back the first time so he elected to improve forward to see if the lead was available with the gelding then commencing to over-race which took its toll.
BETTER THAN MOST - held up by a tiring runner rounding the final turn.
CARRERA SKY - no claims were lodged for this runner.
GOT A BEAUTY - held up briefly final turn.
