Trainer P Kerr advised Stewards on 7 August that AROCKNATTHEPARK has had its knees injected following its performance at Addington on 2 August after soreness was detected subsequent to that race. |

Trainer M Kerr advised Stewards on 11 August that CHANGEAROUND has been treated for a virus since last racing. |
Race 8 - ALABAR (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE |
After further considering the manner junior driver S Thornley used his whip when driving COPPERHEAD ROSE inside the final 400 metres, Stewards recommended to the HRNZ Board that Mr Thornley's Junior Horseman's licence be downgraded to Trials Horseman until the completion of further training and education. This recommendation was accepted by the Board and Mr Thornley's licence was downgraded with immediate effect. |

ALDEBARAN BONNY - trotted roughly over the concluding stages and broke just prior to the finish line when clear of the 5th placed runner. Driver C DeFilippi was unable to place the gelding under pressure in consequence. Trainer R Todd reported the gelding had lost the off fore shoe during the running. | |

TEHORO TEASE - weakened badly from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare had fibrillated. The connections were advised TEHORO TEASE has been stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG prior to racing again. | |

MAGNATE MARA - the required veterinary clearance was received. Weakened from the 600 metres. Driver M Anderson reported the gelding had raced too keenly in the early and middle stages. Trainer M Purvis reported that the horse had bled from both nostrils on cooling down. A veterinary examination confirmed the gelding had bled and the horse was stood down for the mandatory 30 days with a veterinary clearance including a clear scope required prior to completing a satisfactory trial before resuming. Trainer M Purvis advised MAGNATE MARA would be retired as a racing proposition from his stable. | |

Junior driver B Laughton, assisted by R May, admitted driving carelessly in this incident and after viewing the films and hearing penalty submissions, the JCA suspended Mr Laughton's Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 18 August 2019 (2 days). Locked wheels for a distance near the 200 metres with MATTHEW EYRE which lay inwards. | |
RAGNARR - broke on the first bend after locking wheels with KING OF HEROES. Junior driver C Jones admitted a charge under Rule 869(4) in that he failed to concede his position near the 2200 metres which resulted in his horse breaking and losing considerable ground. After submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $200. |
