Race 1   HOKONUI RURAL TRANSPORT HANDICAP TROT
HELLUVA WAY - held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
WHANGAMATA - over-raced through the middle stages. Held up in the early stages of the run home.
THE NIGHT SWEATS - broke at the start. Placed on the Unruly for future standing start engagements.
SOLSBURY HILL - raced wide from the 600 metres. Driver J Morrison reported the mare had hung inwards on the bends throughout.
JUSTAN'S SISTER - when spoken to regarding the apparent lack of vigour she displayed in the home straight driver S Tomlinson reported the mare had trotted roughly and hung inwards and for this reason she had been unable to place JUSTAN'S SISTER under full pressure. Miss Tomlinson added she would be recommending to the trainer that she does not carry a whip in the mare's immediate future.
MAJESTIC ROSE - raced wide in the early stages before progressing to the lead at the 1500 metres.
BARHAM BELLE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having competed for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
APOLLO MISSION - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having competed for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Weakened rounding the final bend.
SVELT - lay inwards throughout the home straight.
ED WOOD - broke after 200 metres. Weakened rounding the final bend. Trainer/driver D McCormick reported the gelding would now be retired as a racing proposition from his stable.
Race 2   BARCLAY - ELLIS RACING MOBILE PACE
CHARLTON REACTOR - weakened on the final bend.
RIN TIN TIN - when spoken to regarding the performance driver B Williamson reported that he was disappointed with the effort, however was of the opinion the horse would derive benefit from the race. Mr Williamson advised that subsequent to the colt cooling down the horse had coughed on several occasions. Mr Williamson added that RIN TIN TIN would be treated and freshened prior to resuming.
KENNINGTON GIRL - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having competed for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Weakened from the 600 metres.
LEAP OF FAITH - paced roughly in the home straight.
PICK SIX TELF - trainer B Gray was issued a $50 Minor Infringement Notice after being late to notify the gelding would be racing with Sliding Blinds on. Held up rounding the final bend.
DALNESS ARIZONA - broke as the start was effected losing its chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver A Armour advised that he would be recommending hopple shorteners be added to the gelding's gear.
OLD LUKE - broke near the 150 metres before pacing roughly for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
Race 3   DOWNBYTHESEASIDE AT WOODLANDS FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
PLUTONIUM LADY - checked and broke briefly when racing to the inside of CROSSO'S CULLECT entering the first bend. Over-raced through the middle stages. Held up rounding the final bend and for the majority of the home straight with driver S Ottley reporting that due to this she did not activate the removable gear applied to the filly.
CROSSO'S CULLECT - hung inwards racing into the first bend despite the efforts of driver C Thornley, checking an inside runner. Continued to hang inwards for the remainder of the race. Mr Thornley reported that he had considerable difficulty steering the mare throughout due to the chin rest slipping over the outside thumb of the horse's bit. The connections advised that they would have the mare examined by their veterinarian upon returning to their stables in the coming days and report any findings to Stewards.
LOISSONYA - trainer B Negus was charged a $25 Colour Fee.
JIVE - raced wide in the early stages and hung inwards when being restrained. Again hung inwards late in the run home.
ESTHER JACCKA - hampered racing into the first bend. Paced roughly rounding the first bend when placed in restricted room by an outside runner. Over-raced through the middle stages.
ALL MONEY - hampered racing into the first bend. Hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the first bend. Again hung inwards on the final bend and paced roughly when weakening.
TACT MIESHA - held up in the early stages of the run home.
Race 4   ABERNETHY CONTRACTING MOBILE PACE
ELVA JACCKA - driver B Barclay reported he did not activate the removable deafeners applied to the mare due to having the field covered.
IDEAL ASSET - held up behind a tiring runner passing the 600 metres.
DELIGHT OF TEXAS - weakened on the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver C Thornley reported the mare had traveled well throughout however had failed to respond to his urgings when placed under pressure from the 500 metres and had been disappointing. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the mare with trainer M House in the coming days.
COUNTESS OF ARDEN - held up rounding the final bend.
THE RED ROBBER - raced wide rounding the first bend. Weakened from the 600 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance driver N Williamson reported that the gelding had failed to back up from its previous start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
PROVISEUR - raced four-wide from the 500 metres. Paced roughly near the 300 metres and had to be steadied. When spoken to regarding the performance driver R Holmes advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation.
LAST HARAH - reluctant to leave the pre-race formation despite the efforts of driver S Ottley and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
FLAMING JIM - raced four and five wide from the 500 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance driver M Williamson reported the gelding had peaked on its run in the early stages of the home straight and in his opinion would derive benefit from the race.
Race 5   GET LUCKY WITH LUCKY CHUCKY HANDICAP TROT
MISS BAMBOOCHA - held up by a tiring runner for a distance passing the 800 metres.
LARCH - held up by a tiring runner for a distance passing the 800 metres. Trotted roughly on the final bend.
DUSKY EYRE - trotted roughly and weakened from the 800 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
AMABEDE - broke near the 1800 metres losing all chance.
SUGAR CANE - began awkwardly and tangled away.
DE VITO - hung inwards and trotted roughly from the 500 metres. Driver N Williamson reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
ROBBIE ROYALE - pre-race warmed. Lay inwards throughout the final straight.
Race 6   PGG WRIGHTSON STANDARDBRED MOBILE PACE
GLACIER COASTER - raced wide in the early stages.
ROYAL CAROLINE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having competed for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Weakened on the final bend.
BLACK OPS - hung inwards throughout the home straight.
VIGOROSO - broke in the early stages of the score-up however was able to take up its allocated barrier position at the start.
MATINEE IDOL - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight. Paced roughly and broke late in the run home.
EDIE JACCKA - hung inwards and struck pylons leaving the final bend.
Race 7   SIR LINCOLN AT ALABAR HANDICAP PACE
MY DESIGN - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Over-raced through the early stages.
HURRICANE BANNER - broke at the start. Held up rounding the final bend.
THABOYZ TOY - broke at the start.
FRANK THE TANK - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced through the middle stages.
RAKE - held up rounding the final bend.
SOUNDS BETTOR - hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages. Raced wide without cover from the 800 metres before weakening on the final bend.
IVANA LEGACY - driver A Armour reported he did not activate the sliding blinds applied to the mare due to having difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
HAZER - broke at the start.
LOMA JACCKA - broke at the start losing all chance. Driver B Barclay was spoken to advisedly for the manner he drove in the early stages.
Race 8   KUBALA SEEDS MOBILE PACE
BETTERTHANSPRAYING - weakened leaving the final bend.
BALIUS - weakened on the final bend.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - hung inwards through the middle stages. Continued to hang inwards in the early stages of the home straight when shifting outwards in search of clear running.
AVEROSS RUSTLER - over-raced through the middle stages. When spoken to regarding the improved performance trainer W Low advised that the gelding had benefited from a gear change with the addition of blinds and had received an economical run throughout.
