Race 4 - McMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS NZ JUNIOR DRIVERS CHAMPS (H3) MOB PACE
Trainer M Purvis advised Stewards on 9 July that a subsequent veterinary examination of MAGNATE MARA revealed that the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Mr Purvis was advised that a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG which is required to take place after strenuous exercise is required before the horse resumes racing.

Race 6 - GLAMOUR HOOVES RACING STABLES/THANKS JASON TEAZ PACE
Trainer J Cox advised Stewards on 12 July that LIGHTFOOT LADY had returned to his stable with nasal discharge and a cough. Mr Cox added that the mare would be treated and sent for a spell.

Race 1   BE IN TO WIN $10K+ IN PRIZES AT LADIES NIGHT MOBILE PACE
DEJA BLUE - momentarily inconvenienced by DUKE OF DUNDEE near the 50 metres.
MYNANASGOTNOTEETH - had to be steadied shortly after the start when momentarily placed in restricted room.
DUKE OF DUNDEE - shifted in under pressure near the 50 metres and was immediately corrected by driver M Williamson. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until T Chmiel, the driver of DEJA BLUE placed 2nd, had viewed the replays and it was established that his chances had not been affected in this incident.
KNIGHTSBRIDGE - tended to lay inwards when improving forward three wide near the 1400 metres.
ULTIMATE SWIFT - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver D Keast.
THE OPTIMIST - broke briefly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Broke near the 700 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the barrier and racing record of the mare.
Race 2   PLUMBING WORLD BRISBANE STREET MOBILE PACE
MAIDONTHEBEACH - over-raced in the score up and after the start when being restrained.
FRANCO TEXAS - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
IVANA LEGACY - held up final turn and in the early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 3   MACCA LODGE SOUTH OF THE WAITAKI SERIES (HEAT 2) MOBILE PACE
KANSAS CITY JIM - held up momentarily near the 40 metres.
TANGO DANCER - lay inwards and paced roughly approaching the 200 metres. Continued to lay inwards throughout the run home placing driver B Orange at a disadvantage.
APRIL ROSE - the connections advised that the mare would now be retired.
THE CROUPIER - broke under pressure passing the 80 metres losing its chance.
Race 4   BETTERTHANCHEDDAR AT ALABAR MOBILE PACE
ZULU COURAGE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the request of the connections after an incident prior to being loaded for transport to the course and was cleared to start.

Lay inwards rounding the final bend dislodging a number of track markers. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
LETS HUSTLE - when questioned regarding the performance, trainer M Jones advised the gelding was unsuited to being in front and will be driven for one run at its next start at the Ashburton TC's meeting on Sunday.
FYNN FROST - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Will now be drawn unruly for mobile starts. Stewards lodged a Protest under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation for galloping in excess of 150 metres in the early stages. The connections did not contest the Protest and FYNN FROST was disqualified from 5th placing by the JCA.
Race 5   HYDROFLOW TROT
SOME TIME - raced three wide from the 1300 metres.
MAJESTIC SUNSET - broke passing the 200 metres.
RED HARBOUR - broke at the start losing its chance. A final warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
DON'T LOOK BACK - held up on the final turn and in the early stages of the run home.
BRIGHT GLOW - lay inwards near the 1450 metres dislodging a track marker. Held up on the final turn and in the early stages of the run home.
JERRY GARCIA - broke at the 1250 metres losing ground.
Race 6   PLUMBING WORLD MOBILE PACE
HOT STARFF - driver B Orange advised he had difficulty steering the gelding. Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days.
SWEET LORESS - lay inwards on the final turn and contacted several track markers.
JIMMY CANNON - raced wide in the early stages.
MINI MINE YET - unable to maintain its position in the score up despite the efforts of driver S O'Reilly. Raced wide from the 1400 metres. Tired over the final stages.
Race 7   COCA-COLA AMATIL HANDICAP TROT
QUAESTOR - mixed its gait at the start and was slow over the early stages before trailing the field throughout.
MEDUSA - slow over the early stages.
SPLASH COLA - broke near the 2200 metres losing ground. Improved to race outside the leader during the middle stages and weakened from the final turn.
Race 8   $50 ALL UP JULY CHALLENGE MOBILE PACE
GOD ONLY KNOWS - the boring pole came loose during the running. This gear was inspected and found to be in satisfactory order.
MIKEY MAGUIRE - lay inwards and broke briefly at the 300 metres.
Race 9   CELEBRATING 25 YEARS AT CHRISTCHURCH CASINO PACE
There was a delay to the start when the field was turned away after DISTINGUISHED TASTE and SILK breasted the barrier.
There was a further delay when the tongue tie on MISS BEHAVIN required replacement.
COMFORTABLY NUMB - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
MISS BEHAVIN - led up and tired from the 700 metres. Trainer/driver G Smith advised the mare would no longer be persevered with as a racing proposition from his stable.
DISTINGUISHED TASTE - broke at the start and settled at the rear.
SILK - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
