Race 1   SEASON LAUNCH AUGUST 1ST MOBILE PACE
ROMANITE - over raced in the middle stages when leading.
MR INCREDIBLE - held up rounding the final bend. Shifted ground outwards near the 250m, placing an outside runner in restricted room. Driver G Cronin was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in the future.
RUNCLE - Driver F Phelan was issued with a Minor Infringement Notice under rule 864(2)(e) in that he failed to activate the hopple shorteners on the gelding and was fined $200.
Race 2   NORTH ISLAND HARNESS RACING AWARDS 31ST AUG MOBILE PACE
BLACK COFFEE - paced roughly leaving the 350m.
COMEDY ACT - paced roughly when awkwardly placed to the wheel of PATAGONIAN PRINCESS, which was tiring, near the 400m.
CARSE O FERN CULLY - held up near the 300m.
PATAGONIAN PRINCESS - tired from the 400m.
Race 3   AMBER GARDEN CENTRE CAMBRIDGE HCP TROT
PEGASUS HANOVER - broke racing into the first bend. Tired from the 500m and then broke near the 350m.
BLUE COMAN - trotted roughly over the concluding stages. Driver Z Butcher advised he did not activate the removable deafeners.
PRIMO POTRO - broke racing into the first bend, losing all chance and was retired from the event.
GRIFFINS HALL - broke near the 450m and was taken down inside the marker line to avoid the trailing runners.
PARIS UNDER SIEGE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
EDESIA - hung inwards on several occasions.
KIMKAR DASH - trotted roughly when Driver D Balle activated the removable deafeners near the 300m. When questioned Mr Balle explained that he had then been reluctant to fully test the mare over the early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 4   PICKET FENCE: MARKETING + MEDIA MOBILE PACE
CHILLYSJUSTASHADOW - hung inwards and paced roughly shortly after the start for a distance.
HEATHER RAE - held up late in the run home.
ARDEN'S SILHOUETTE - back at the candy pole despite the efforts of Driver F Schumacher. Lay inwards rounding the final bend striking a track marker.
Race 5   CAMBRIDGE EQUINE HOSPITAL MOBILE PACE
A BETTER DANCER - unable to maintain its position in the score up and was back at the start despite the efforts of Driver L Neal, inconveniencing PHILLYDOTCOM. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners. Raced back in midfield before improving three wide with cover from the 700m, but failed to run on finishing in 9th place beaten 16.5 lengths. Co-trainer / Driver L Neal advised she was disappointed with the gelding's performance. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ARTY PHARTY - lay in during the score up and was back at the start despite the efforts of Driver M White. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners. Raced wide in the early stages. Raced wide from the 1400m without cover when unable to obtain the position outside the leader which was being held by CARRERA SKY.
PHILLYDOTCOM - inconvenienced in the score up. Gave ground from the 600m. A warning was placed on the mare's racing performance. Trainer B Towers advised that PHILLYDOTCOM would be retired.
Race 6   FARRIER SUPPLIES MOBILE PACE
VANHALEM - over raced throughout.
AU REVOIR - lay in approached the 400m when attempting to improve and contacted the sulky wheel of SARABI.
LIVE REACTOR - raced three wide early.
CHARLOTTE ROYAL - broke in the score up and was back a distance at the start. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners.
SARABI - sulky wheel contacted and punctured near the 400m.
Race 7   JUST AN EXCUSE MOBILE PACE
ANAM NUNU - raced three wide for the first 600m before crossing to race outside the leader. Under pressure on the final turn and weakened out to finish at the rear in 8th place, beaten 22 lengths. When questioned regarding the performance, Driver A Poutama stated that he had been required to nurse the filly over the early stages due to it pacing roughly before disappointing when asked for an effort leaving the back straight a final time. A post race veterinary revealed no abnormalities.
J BEE - was awkwardly placed to the wheel of ANAM NUNU and had to be steadied near the 300m.
LIBERAL ARDEN - lay inwards under pressure rounding the final bend. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer A Donnelly advised the gelding would be spelled.
Race 8   THANKS ZELDA & ALLAN HCP TROT
LITTLE BRO - broke briefly at the start.
THE LAST GAMBLE - was slowly away.
SAFRAKOVA - lost ground passing the 800m.
ANNA KATE - hung inwards on several occasions. Broke near the 300m.
FIRA - gave ground final stages.
GREY STOKE - broke inside the 1300m and galloped a considerable distance before being retired from the event.
M'LORD MACKENDON - gave ground final stages.
