Race 1   RICOH HANDICAP TROT
KEN'S DREAM - tangled away. Trotted roughly throughout.
THE POWER BROKER - broke briefly early stages. Hampered by breaking runner passing the 800 metres.
EARTHQUAKE - broke with 1250 metres left to run. Broke again passing the 450 metres then switched into a pace before being restrained into its correct gait.
DREAM OF PAT - broke racing into first bend. Broke again near the 800 metres.
COSMIC SUN - held up for clear racing room late in the run home.
SPURRED BY SUCCESS - trotted roughly entering the final bend before breaking near the 450 metres.
MUSCLE PAT - when questioned in regards to the improved performance the connections advised that tonight's race represented a drop in class to the events that the gelding raced in before it had spelled and that it had been working well leading up to this race.
SVELT - broke near the 800 metres.
Race 2   DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS MOBILE PACE
MYNANASGOTNOTEETH - held up early to middle stages of the home straight.
SUPERSTAR LEGEND - hung in the score up. Raced greenly leaving the first bend and hung outwards.
EASTON KARERE - hampered by breaking runner passing the 1300 metres. Weakened final bend. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SUNSET RED - paced roughly in the score up. Over raced middle stages and broke briefly passing the 1300 metres.
Race 3   MID WINTER XMAS BUFFET 4th JULY PACE
THE DANISH GIRL - broke at the start. Over raced middle stages.
JACCKA TAFFY - hampered shortly after the start. Unsuccessfully challenged for the lead during the middle stages.
RAKAGEM - junior Driver E Barron was shown the films and warned under Rule 869(7A)(a) to ensure contact is not made with the track markers.
OUT OF THE SHADOWS - broke at the start. Junior Driver J Morrison was shown the films and spoken to advisedly regarding his whip action prior to the 400 metres.
MYSISTERSAPOLEDANCER - broke at the start. Over raced early stages when being restrained to take cover. Held up for racing room final bend.
BUB'S VC - broke with 1200 metres left to run.
Race 4   FORBURY PARK JUNIOR DRIVERS TROT
DON'T LOOK BACK - weakened final bend.
BREAK OUT - fractious prior to the start. Trotted roughly at the start.
HENGROEN - trotted roughly in the home straight.
PAT THE MONKEY - hung inwards final bend.
SCARLETT LANE - broke early stages losing all chance.
MICHELLE - junior Driver S Tomlinson was warned for failing to obey the orders of the Starter's assistants prior to the start.
BEST OF THE BUNCH - lay inwards rounding the bends. Struck several track markers near the 300 metres.
Race 5   $75K PICK 6 STARTS NOW MOBILE PACE
GLACIER COASTER - weakened from the 500 metres.
KANSAS CITY JIM - held up final bend.
MISS FANDANGO - raced wide first bend. Junior driver E Barron reported she had been unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
ROSINUPTHEBOW - raced wide first bend.
JUNGLE GEM - raced wide first bend. Over raced middle stages when being restrained in an attempt to take cover. Raced four wide passing the 1200 metres when racing to the outside of HONOUR SCROLL. Stewards viewed a replay of this and were satisfied that HONOUR SCROLL had commenced its outwards movement prior to JUNGLE GEM reaching its sulky wheel. Continued to over race when being restrained to take up a position behind HONOUR SCROLL passing the 1100 metres. Paced roughly and broke briefly passing the 500 metres.
ALLANDALE - raced wide first bend.
LITTLE RAIN - raced four wide passing the 1100 metres when racing to the outside of ROSINUPTHEBOW. Stewards viewed a replay of this where it was established that LITTLE RAIN had not been forced to race wider on the track by ROSINUPTHEBOW which had shifted ground outwards.
MOTU SPEEDY STAR - broke in the score up however was able to take up its allocated position at the start. Weakened final bend. Returned to the stabling area with blood present in one nostril. Deemed to be a bleeder by the on-course Veterinary surgeon and was stood down for the mandatory 30 days with the connections advised they must produce a Veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination prior to the horse trialing satisfactorily on one occasion. Trainer E Latimer advised the gelding would be retired from racing.
Race 6   NEXT MEETING 20th JUNE MOBILE PACE
THABOYZ TOY - broke late in the score up checking a trailing runner and lost all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
FRANKIE D - raced wide early stages. Weakened final bend and lay inwards.
RAKE - held up final bend.
THE CROUPIER - held up early to middle stages of the run home.
OMAR SHARIF - hung inwards around the bends. Raced wide without cover from the 1000 metres. Weakened final bend. Driver B Barclay advised that he would be recommending gear changes prior to the gelding resuming racing. The all clear was delayed until Stewards had reviewed a replay of the start and determined that OMAR SHARIF had been denied a fair start after its chances had been materially prejudiced due to THABOYZ TOY breaking late in the score up. Acting under Rule 213(1)(j) OMAR SHARIF was declared a non-runner.
FIRST SON - broke briefly in the score up. Hampered final bend. Lay inwards final stages of the home straight.
Race 7   NZ HORSE TRANSPORT LTD MOBILE PACE
DELIGHTFUL GLORIA - made contact with the mobile arm in the score up.
MOLLY DOOKER - hung inwards and raced inside markers first bend. Held up early stages of the run home. Junior Driver S Tomlinson had reported that the filly had hung in throughout.
THE NAENAE EXPRESS - junior Driver D Keast reported that his sulky tyre had deflated during the running. Hampered by breaking runner passing the 1800 metres.
HONOUR BEFORE GLORY - Hampered by breaking runner passing the 1800 metres.
THE BEAST - broke with 1800 metres to run losing it's chance. A warning was placed on the racing manners of this gelding. When spoken to Driver B Orange stated that the gelding had been difficult to control and had broken free of interference.
Race 8   YALDHURST HOTEL MOBILE PACE
POSSENTE CAVALLO - held up final bend.
GABBY'S STAR - held up middle stages of the run home.
AVEROSS RUSTLER - raced wide until obtaining cover passing the 1600 metres.
SOUNDS BETTOR - raced wide first bend. Raced wide without cover from the 1000 metres. Weakened final bend.
AROCKNATTHEPARK - The required Veterinary clearance was received for the gelding to resume racing. Paced roughly in the home straight.
NO MORE CHANGE - held up final bend and throughout the run home.
HURRICANE BANNER - junior Driver S Tomlinson was shown the films and reminded of her obligations to ensure she drives to the end of the race.
SHARNAE - held up final bend.
Race 9   FORBURY PARK JUNIOR DRIVERS PACE
The start of this race was delayed due to ZULU COURAGE having a gear malfunction. The start was further delayed due to several runners being fractious behind the tape.
KRUIZR - hampered by breaking runner passing the 1650 metres.
DEPEND ON WASHIE - broke at the start.
I'M SICK OF EXCUSES - Driver K Tomlinson reported the mare had hung throughout.
SHINDAL - held up early stages of the home straight.
EDIE JACCKA - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke racing into the first bend. Held up for racing room final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. Driver J Campbell reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
BILLY KLONDIKE - hampered by tiring runner passing the 800 metres.
MAGNETIC WATCH - raced wide first bend. Weakened final bend.
NANELLE FRANCO - broke at the start. Slow in the early stages.
ZULU COURAGE - hampered by breaking runner passing the 1650 metres. Weakened from the 600 metres.
TOPSPINNER - broke near the 1700 metres and again at the 1400 metres.
VIGOROSO - broke at the start. Stewards withheld confirmation of placings after junior Driver R Heads, assisted by T Williams, viewed the tapes to ascertain whether her drive had received a fair start. After viewing the films the matter was not proceeded with.
CHIEF KAPAI - raced wide middle stages. Raced wide without cover from the 1600 metres. Weakened from the 800 metres. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance including an ECG. Trainer E Latimer reported the gelding would be retired from racing.
Race 10   FORBURY PARK CLAIMERS SERIES MOBILE PACE
No Claims were lodged for this race.
DOUBLE RAINBOW - weakened from the 800 metres. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in both front legs. The connections were advised they must produce a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding resuming racing.
STAR RULER - paced roughly in the score up. Hung inwards throughout causing Driver M Williamson some difficulty. Mr Williamson reported he would be recommending gear changes prior to the gelding resuming racing.
