Race 1   GORE NEW WORLD TROT
MR OLYMPUS - lay inwards on various occasions during the running. Trotted roughly passing the 1900 metres losing contact with the field.
GENTLE GEN - broke with 2300 metres to run and again on several other occasions during the running.
MOMENT OF GLORY - slow through the early stages. Trotted roughly throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare. Driver A Armour was reminded of his obligations when starting from the Unruly position.
Race 2   SYD BREEN RACING STABLES / REGIONAL FORD MOBILE PACE
CHARLTON REACTOR - held up rounding the final bend and through the early to middle stages of the home straight.
MONGOLIAN MACHETE - placed in restricted room and struck a track marker passing the 500 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance driver B Orange could offer no tangible explanation.
SWIFT ROBYN - lay outwards in the score-up inconveniencing AMERICAN MAC. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Lay inwards throughout the home straight. Driver C Ferguson was warned to maintain a straight course throughout the run home despite the filly laying inwards.
AMERICAN MAC - inconvenienced in the score-up. Shifted ground inwards near the 500 metres placing MONGOLIAN MACHETE in restricted room. Driver B Williamson was warned for the manner he shifted ground at this point. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards questioned driver B Williamson regarding his tactics in the middle stages. Of particular concern was his decision to shift outwards from the one/one position near the 1500 metres to sit adjacent to the lead horse for some distance. Mr Williamson advised that the gelding was one paced and due to the slow speed he elected to go forward and apply some pressure in an attempt to obtain the front. Mr Williamson further added that when obtaining the lead near the 700 metres the gelding had paced roughly and shifted outwards, losing concentration. After viewing the films and taking into account the over all time of the race Stewards noted Mr Williamson's comments.
KENNY'S PRIDE - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Trainer T Stratford advised the gelding would now be sent for a spell.
Race 3   OSBORNE ROCK SUPPLIES MOBILE PACE
HARRYDAHORSE - broke racing into the first bend inconveniencing trailing runners and being retired from the event. Trainer J Douglas advised the gelding will no longer be persevered with as a racing proposition from his stable. Notwithstanding this HARRYDAHORSE was stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing next.
BOLD RULER - hampered racing into the first bend.
ELLNBAC - Late scratching on Veterinary advice at 8.07am. A veterinary clearance is required prior to resuming.
RAHURI BADLANDS - hampered racing into the first bend. The offside number came adrift during the running.
IWANADANCEWITSUMBODY - hampered racing into the first bend.
TETRICK - held up rounding the final bend.
LADY'S LASS - held up rounding the final bend.
BOOMER - hampered racing into the first bend.
ALLANDALE - hampered racing into the first bend.
Race 4   SOUTHLAND STANDARDBRED BREEDERS FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
LIVE ON SUZIE - over raced passing the 1700 metres and was retired from the event passing the 1500 metres, shifting inside track markers. A post-race veterinary examination confirmed LIVE ON SUZIE had choked down. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards on one occasion prior to racing next.
TAKE A BET - raced wide into the first bend.
JAFFIE J - lay outwards racing into the first bend when over racing and continued to over race for some distance thereafter. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Morrison advised the filly had been striking the sulky discs when over racing throughout. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
MISS IVY - raced three wide without cover from the 1300 metres. Weakened from the 400 metres.
Race 5   PETERS GENETICS MOBILE PACE
HOLY HAVOC - lay inwards near the 600 metres placing BONO BROWN in restricted room and sustaining a punctured sulky tyre as a result.
THE INTERCEPTOR - over raced in the score-up. Raced wide rounding the first bend. Continued to over race through the early and middle stages with the two minute strap coming adrift. Weakened from the 400 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance driver N Williamson advised the gelding had over raced and been difficult to drive throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer B Gray advised the gelding would now be sent for a spell. A warning was placed on the racing record of THE INTERCEPTOR.
PLAY BALL - hampered by a tiring runner near the 600 metres.
BONO BROWN - placed in restricted room close to the wheel of HOLY HAVOC passing the 600 metres.
GABBY'S MAGIC - paced roughly in the score-up and was out of position at the start.
S P F THREE - broke rounding the first bend. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Trainer D Simpson advised S P F THREE would now be sent for a spell.
Race 6   NS VETS TOTAL VET CARE HANDICAP TROT
ANOTHERSUPERSTAR - fractious prior to the start and reared as the tapes were released, losing ground. Broke with 950 metres to run.
SVELT - broke at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres. Weakened from the 400 metres.
GRACE O'MALLEY - lay inwards rounding the bends.
WHATWILLBEEWILLBEE - fractious prior to the start. Broke near the 350 metres.
Race 7   BEARING REPLACEMENTS MOBILE PACE
MAGNETIC WATCH - driver R Swain admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) & Whip Regs Clause (k) when he used the whip with his foot out of the sulky footrest. After viewing replays and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $250.
ROSINUPTHEBOW - hung inwards throughout the home straight.
EDIE JACCKA - raced wide rounding the first bend.
CRUISIN REUBEN - broke in the early stages, losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
GLACIER COASTER - broke in score-up losing its chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Trainer A Paisley advised he would be making gear changes prior to GLACIER COASTER racing next.
SHE'S OUTSTANDING - over raced through the middle stages. Held up for racing room in the home straight. Driver B Williamson advised that the mare had hung inwards throughout the home straight and was unable to be driven out.
FIRST SON - held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight with junior driver S Tomlinson reporting that due to this she did not activate the removable deafeners applied to the gelding.
Race 8   ADVANCE AGRICULTURE HANDICAP PACE
IDEAL BREEZE - broke at the start, losing considerable ground.
SON OF LANA - slow to begin. Hampered by a breaking runner passing the 400 metres.
RAFFY ROO - paced roughly on various occasions during the running. Broke briefly passing the 400 metres, shifting wider on the track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
SAGWITCH - hampered near the 400 metres. Held up exiting the final bend.
Race 9   MOSSDALE FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
SHERRY BABY - paced roughly rounding the first bend.
TANGO DANCER - raced wide rounding the first bend.
BETTERTHANBRIE - junior driver J Morrison reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners applied to the mare due to the cord breaking.
MAD DOG MADDY - raced wide in the early stages. Weakened from the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery with trainer D Trainor in the coming days.
TIZIANO - raced wide in the early stages.
I'MALLABOUTTHEBASE - raced wide in the early stages until reaching the parked position near the 1200 metres. Lay inwards throughout the home straight.
TULSA JACCKA - over raced through the middle stages.
BUNTER'S DREAM - held up rounding the final bend.
Race 10   GORE NIGHT 'N DAY / PGG WRIGHTSON MOBILE PACE
HAZER - broke passing the 500 metres when driver A Beck activated the removable deafeners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Shortly after made contact with LOVE THE BLUES which had lay inwards at this point.
CHEDDAR MADE BETA - paced roughly shortly after the start when being restrained to take cover. Hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend.
GABBY'S STAR - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend. Hampered by a breaking runner exiting the final bend.
TARTAN ROBYN - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend. Driver M Williamson reported the gelding had hung on various occasions during the running.
PARAMA - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend.
CANDIDASA - paced roughly and broke racing into the first bend hampering outside runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Held up rounding the final bend. Co-Trainer G Knight advised that the gelding would be heading for a spell.
LOVE THE BLUES - hung in the score-up. Hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend. Hung inwards rounding the final bend making contact with HAZER.
MIGHTY FLYING ART - driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners and sliding blinds applied to the colt due to having the field covered.
MR HANDLEMAN - hampered by a breaking runner entering the first bend.
