EXPRESS PLAY - commenced to shift out from the marker line approaching the 1300 metres but was then shifted back down after EL CAPITAN had improved to its outside. Held up when taking evasive action around a tiring runner at the 300 metres. | |
VANHALEM - Amateur Driver B Wilmott was cautioned in regard to coming to the mobile barrier over the initial stages of the score up out of position at barrier 3 instead of 2. This resulted in the outside runners all being one position wider initially. | |
XMAS BAY - over-raced when in the lead from inside the 1300 metres and in particular when challenged by MR INCREDIBLE. Gave ground inside the final 400 metres inconveniencing trailing runners. | |

HIGHVIEW JUSTICE - Amateur Driver A Edge was questioned as to why he restrained from outside the leader to trail three deep on the marker line with 1350 metres to run. Mr Edge advised that he had been instructed to drive the gelding with cover so he took the opportunity when it was presented. | |
BELLA ROZA - held up by a tiring runner inside the 300 metres. Amateur Driver P Cook was shown the replay of his drive entering the first bend and spoken to advisedly in regard to conceding his position to a runner that was shifting inward with an advantage over him and as a result his gelding paced roughly for several strides. |
