PORT DELIGHT - slightly out of position at the start. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
DEN'S LEGACY - placed in restricted room entering the first bend when racing to the inside of AVEROSS RUSTLER (W Low). Hung inwards and broke shortly afterwards when free of interference losing its chance.
AVEROSS RUSTLER - driver W Low was spoken to advisedly for the manner in which he drove racing into the first bend. When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer/driver W Low advised the gelding had appreciated a considerable drop in class and being able to be driven in a forwards position.
Race 2   NIGHT 'N DAY PARK TROT
There was a delay to the start of this race due to PERSEVERANCE ROAD falling to the track after completing its preliminary.
PERSEVERANCE ROAD - fell to the track after completing its preliminary and was reluctant to regain its feet for some time. Scratched by order of Stewards. A veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from symptoms of colic as well as signs of a cardio vascular complaint with treatment being administered. When spoken to regarding his intentions with the mare, trainer/driver A Lowe advised he would be retiring her from racing. Notwithstanding Mr Lowe's intentions Stewards stood the horse down pending a veterinary clearance including an ECG report and the completion of two satisfactory trials.

PASTRANA - trotted roughly first bend. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 250 metres.

NUI MAY TAU - fractious prior to the start.
SHEZ GORGEOUS - fractious prior to the start. Tangled away and became unbalanced when awkwardly positioned to the inside of BOMBSHELL losing ground. Raced wider on the track near the 1100 metres when improving three wide to the outside of CATHY BROWN (S Ottley). Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule at this stage of the race however after viewing all available films it was established that driver S Ottley had commenced her outward movement prior to SHEZ GORGEOUS reaching her sulky wheel.
BOMBSHELL - broke at the start and shifted inwards inconveniencing SHEZ GORGEOUS.
VICTOR TANGO - the off side number came adrift during the running. Stewards questioned Driver J Morrison regarding the tactics he adopted on the final bend when he elected to vacate the trailing position and shift outwards nearing the 300 metres as opposed to waiting for the passing lane which would have been available to him on entering the home straight. Mr Morrison explained that VICTOR TANGO lacks high speed and he was of the impression the leader, NUI MAY TAU, was under pressure due to it hanging outwards and being under a drive and he would be best served to gain clear racing room when the opportunity presented itself rather than being held up by a tiring runner prior to the passing lane becoming available. After considering the explanation tendered by Mr Morrison, Stewards noted his comments.
DELIGHT OF TEXAS - raced wide early and middle stages. Hung inwards at various stages during the running. Weakened from the 600 metres.

Raced wide early stages.

ADAM PATRON - weakened from the 400 metres. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with connections in the coming days.
BEAUDIENE GAMBLER - slightly out of position at the start. Held up final bend.
BILLIE JEAN - raced greenly in the score up and was slightly out of position at the start.
ROZZANO - raced wide early stages. Unsuccessfully challenged for the lead nearing the 1200 metres and continued to apply pressure to the leader thereafter before reaching the lead near the 600 metres. Weakened from the 500 metres. Driver S Diamant (assisted by Mrs A Tomlinson) was questioned regarding her tactics through the middle stages with regard to her decision to maintain pressure on the leader in an attempt to gain this position. Miss Diamant explained that she had been instructed to drive the mare in a forwards position however after viewing films and acknowledging the Stewards concerns conceded she had erred in her judgement and should of made a forceful attempt to challenge for the lead through the early stages as opposed to waiting and trying through the middle stages for the period in which she had done so. After taking into account Miss Diamant's explanation, her inexperience and hearing from Mrs Tomlinson the matter was taken no further other than to speak to her advisedly regarding her decision making in future.
OPAWA MACH - held up final bend.
