MAJESTIC CONNIES - hampered when being heavily contacted by a breaking runner passing the 1000 metres severely unbalancing driver B Williamson. | |
WEE MAN TROUBLE - outside sulky wheel was struck near the 1000 metres resulting in the tyre deflating. | |
WAR ADMIRAL - broke passing the 1000 metres after making contact with the sulky wheel of WEE MAN TROUBLE, then ducked in abruptly making heavy contact with MAJESTIC CONNIES, hampering that runner and severely unbalancing driver B Williamson in the sulky. Driver A Stratford admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly at this stage of the race. After viewing replays and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $325. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered lacerations to the outside of its left fore pastern. Stewards will follow up the recovery of WAR ADMIRAL with trainer T Stratford in the coming days. | |
