Race 1   CHRISTCHURCH CASINO MOBILE TROT
FOLLY'S TROUBLE - trotted roughly in the score up.
QUAESTOR - broke after 100 metres. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Held up throughout the run home with driver K Butt advising she was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners. Authorisation of 5th placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the mare had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages.
EYRE I GO - trotted roughly final bend and throughout the home straight.
SKYLINE - briefly came together with NEVER MIND which lay inwards near the 50 metres.
MAJESTIC SUNSET - hung inwards and struck pylons on the final bend when trotting roughly. Continued to hang inwards throughout the run home.
NEVER MIND - briefly lay inwards near the 50 metres and came together with SKYLINE. Driver J Geddes reported the gelding cast a shoe during the running.
AMULET - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres.
SUNRISE SPUR - hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages. Held up on the final bend and for the majority of the home straight.
JAGUAR BAY - broke with 900 metres to run hampering a trailing runner.
CHAMPAGNE PRINCE - broke with 100 metres to run.
Trainer G Smith advised Stewards on 15 May that AMULET has been treated for a virus since last racing.
Race 2   PEEK EXHIBITION MOBILE PACE
B MAC C - held up final bend.
PRO SURFER - raced wide around the first bend.
ROCKAHULA JOE - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance, driver M Jones reported the gelding had worked hard through the early and middle stages with the effort taking its toll.
THE DOORMAN - lay outwards throughout the run home.
LILAC BECKY - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S McNally. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Weakened from the 700 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver S McNally advised the filly had raced lethargically throughout. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the horse. The connections advised they will have blood tests taken and Stewards will follow up with the results.
COUNTESS OF ARDEN - weakened final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver T Williams reported the filly had over-raced throughout causing him difficulty and he would be recommending gear changes prior to resuming.
THAT ALEXANDER GUY - held up early stages of the run home.
Trainer D Taylor advised Stewards on 7 May that LILAC BECKY has been sent for a spell.
Race 3   FAHEY FENCE HIRE TROT
MONARO MARO - held up early stages of the run home.
MIDNIGHT SIOUX - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
EASY PICKINGS - trotted roughly through the early stages. Hung inwards on the final bend crowding inside runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Broke with 100 metres to run.
MAJESTIC MANNEQUIN - tangled away. Hung inwards final bend and struck pylons. Broke with 200 metres to run. Driver R Close was warned for the manner in which he drove racing into the first bend when crowding inside runners.
UNIQUE MARSHALL - weakened near the 500 metres. Checked and broke final bend. Treated by the veterinarian after the race for a laceration to the off fore leg.
SUGAR CANE - crowded racing into the first bend.
DOFF YOUR CAP - placed in restricted room rounding the final bend and had to be steadied.
MICHELLE - crowded racing into the first bend and struck pylons. Broke near the 700 metres.
RACHMANINOV - held up passing the 500 metres. Driver T Grant was warned for the manner he drove near the 500 metres when attempting to shift ground outwards when not in a position to do so. Hung inwards rounding the final bend.
Race 4   AVON CITY FORD MOBILE PACE
JESSE DUKE - when questioned regarding the performance, driver S Ottley advised she was not disappointed with the performance given the fast closing sectionals and the quality of the opposition.
ALTA ORLANDO - over-raced early stages when being restrained. Hung outwards at various stages during the running. Held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
Race 5   BE IN TO WIN ON MOTHER'S DAY AT spectators.co.nz MOBILE TROT
SPEEDY COMMAND - over-raced through the middle stages.
MDINA - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
OVERZEALOUS - driver C Thornley reported the filly had hung inwards throughout the home straight.
WHATASISTA - over-raced passing the 1100 metres when being restrained. Held up final bend and in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
ZSA ZOE - raced wide around the first bend. Weakened on the final bend and struck pylons when hanging inwards.
ZOEY'S GIFT - held up throughout the home straight. Driver M Williamson advised the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence. Stewards questioned driver M Williamson regarding the tactics he adopted from the 800 metres as to whether he could have improved his position in the back straight on the final occasion. Mr Williamson advised that he had been racing in the three wide line and due to the horse ahead of him failing to progress forward, he had become poorly placed at the rear of the field. He added that he was reluctant to improve at this stage of the race as he felt that he would be forced to race wider around the final bend. After considering the explanation of Mr Williamson, Stewards took the matter no further.
GIRLS LET LOOSE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S O'Reilly.
SOME TIME - driver J Smith was warned for the manner he drove in the back straight on the final occasion when attempting to maintain his position in the two wide line when not in a position to do so.
SIOUX PRINCESS - raced wide around the first bend.
Race 6   STORER MOTORS MOBILE PACE
I AM ADALINE - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Hung inwards and struck pylons on the first bend. Paced roughly in the run home.
LOTTIE MOON - held up final bend.
VERA STANHOPE - weakened from the 800 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the filly.
COMFORTABLY NUMB - weakened from the 600 metres.
FRANCO HATTON - held up by a tiring runner passing the 800 metres.
MILLWOOD BONNIE - hung outwards rounding the first bend. Continued to hang outwards leaving the final bend and throughout the home straight.
KOROMIKO EYRE - over-raced when being restrained in the early stages. Hung inwards in the middle stages despite the efforts of driver R May when improving wide without cover.
CULLENS CONSPIRACY - raced four wide from the 700 metres. Weakened final bend.
Race 7   HYDROFLOW MOBILE PACE
GET IT ON - trainer D Love was charged a $25 colour fee. Held up on the final bend.
FRANKIE D - over-raced through the early stages when being restrained in an attempt to obtain cover. Hung inwards through the middle stages. Raced wide without cover from the 900 metres. Hung inwards and weakened final bend.
EASTWOOD CHIEFTAIN - over-raced through the middle stages. Held up final bend.
FYNN FROST - held up final bend.
QUEENOFDANCE - raced wide around the first bend.
DREAMY DAMIEN - hung inwards and struck pylons final bend. Driver J Gray was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 for driving with his foot out of the sulky footrest rounding the final bend.
Race 8   IRT HARNESS JEWELS HOSPITALITY PACKAGES ON SALE MOBILE PACE
GLENGARRY KNIGHT - held up on the final bend.
THE DUDE - broke in the early stages and shifted outwards locking wheels with STUN GUN losing all chance and was retired from the race. Stood down to complete one satisfactory mobile trial.
NAIYA FRANCO - hung inwards with 1100 metres to run striking pylons. Held up final bend.
FEEL THE MONEY - driver T Williams reported the mare had over-raced after striking his sulky wheels through the middle stages.
EUREKA - paced roughly in the score up. Held up on the final bend.
STUN GUN - checked and locked wheels with THE DUDE which was in a break after 100 metres. Over-raced and hung outwards through the middle stages causing driver J Morrison some difficulty. Weakened final bend.
COPPERHEAD ROSE - raced wide without cover from the 1200 metres. Weakened final bend.
Race 9   PGG WRIGHTSON NZ YEARLING SALES 2YO OPEN FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
CLOUD NINE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver M Anderson.
FLYING EVEN BETTOR - struck pylons on the final bend. Driver M Williamson was issued with a warning.
WILLIAM WALLACE - late scratching on veterinary advice at 9.10am.
ONE CHANGE - briefly locked stays with EL DORADO racing into the first bend. Driver S Ottley admitted using her whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of the Whip Regulations. After viewing the films and hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Miss Ottley's Horsewoman's licence from the conclusion of racing on 5 May up to and including 11 May 2019 (3 days) and in addition imposed a fine of $750.
EL DORADO - paced roughly in the score up and was back a length at the start. Briefly locked stays with ONE CHANGE racing into the first bend. Over-raced through the middle stages. Weakened from the 300 metres. Driver T Chmiel was issued with a warning for using his whip when out of contention.
Race 10   $50 ALL UP JULY CHALLENGE AT ADDINGTON HANDICAP TROT
LOVEY DOVEY MOMENT - trotted roughly and shifted up the track in the home straight with driver J Keast unable to drive the gelding out.
IDEAL INVASION - weakened from the 600 metres.
GLOBE TREKKER - trotted roughly through the early stages. Broke near the 1900 metres losing all chance.
WE'LL MEET AGAIN - hung inwards throughout. Weakened final bend.
SPLASH COLA - raced wide in the early stages. Trotted roughly and weakened from the 450 metres. When questioned regarding the performance, driver S Ottley could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the mare with connections in the coming days.
DIDJABRINGTHEBEERS - late scratching on veterinary advice after kicking out and getting its leg over the sulky shaft in the preliminary. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
Trainer R Todd has advised Stewards on 8 May that SPLASH COLA has recovered well from its performance at Addington last week adding that as a result of the mare hitting itself during the running she would have a change in shoeing for this week's engagement. Mr Todd also indicated that if circumstances permit SPLASH COLA will be driven with a sit.
Race 11   BLUE STAR TAXIS MOBILE PACE
BETTATHANFAST - pre-race warmed.
KRUIZR - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver C DeFilippi. Raced wide without cover from the 1000 metres. Weakened from the 400 metres.
CULLENS BET - held up on the final bend.
ROCKNROLL ROD - raced wide around the first bend.
JENORA - paced roughly rounding the final bend when held up.
FLYIN MILLY MAC - pre-race warmed. Raced wide around the first bend.
FANCY - held up on the final bend.
SWEET LORESS - held up throughout the home straight. Driver K Butt advised the removable deafeners were not released in consequence. Miss Butt was warned for attempting a marginal run in the home straight resulting in her striking track markers.
