Race 2 - SOUTHLAND HARNESS AWARDS LADYSHIP FINAL MOBILE PACE
Trainer B Gray advised Stewards on 3 April that BETTERTHANSPRAYING is having a brief freshen up after racing at Invercargill last week and will return to workouts and/or trials before resuming.
Forbury Park TC - Thursday, 4th April 2019
Race 7 - RESENE COLORSHOP MOBILE PACE
Driver J Campbell (represented by C Ferguson) admitted a breach of Rule 857(7)(e) in that he crossed over before reaching the starting point when driving NO MORE CHANGE. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $100.

Race 1   LEVEL ONE RESTAURANT & BAR MOBILE PACE
REBEL WITH A GRIN - crowded racing into the first bend.
THISEXCUSEBETTERBEIT - held up passing the 300 metres and in the early stages of the home straight. Briefly locked wheels with BETTORS ATOM passing the 50 metres. Driver E Barron advised she did not activate the sliding blinds applied to the mare. Miss Barron was questioned regarding her decision not to improve wider on the track rounding the final bend. Miss Barron explained that the mare has been unsuited to racing wide on the final bend in the past and for this reason she elected to save ground and drive for one run.
G T REACTOR - paced roughly shortly after the start. Raced wide in the early stages. Hung inwards passing the 200 metres.
BETTORS ATOM - paced roughly rounding the first bend. Briefly locked wheels with THISEXCUSEBETTERBEIT passing the 50 metres. Junior driver J Morrison was warned for the manner he shifted ground racing into the first bend.
RAKABEAMER - lay outwards passing the 200 metres.
SNOWY DANA - paced roughly entering the first bend. Lay inwards rounding the final bend dislodging a track marker.
Race 2   SOUTHLAND EXPRESS PACE
KIWI JEWEL - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Over-raced passing the 1400 metres.
LIFEOFBRIAN - held up for racing room rounding the final bend and through the early to middle stages of the home straight. Junior driver M Hurrell reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners applied to the gelding due to this.
IDEAL RON - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
TACT DENZEL - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver M Williamson reported he would be recommending TACT DENZEL be restricted to mobile starts for its upcoming engagements.
PEMBROOK PLAYBOY - trainer/driver N Williamson reported the colt had raced greenly throughout and hung inwards rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. Mr Williamson advised he would be making gear changes prior to the colt resuming.
Race 3   HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAY LESLEY MARSHALL MOBILE PACE
HAZER - over-raced in the score-up.
RAKABEACH - over-raced in the score up and paced roughly after making contact with the barrier arm. Continued to over-race through the middle stages.
TULSA JACCKA - held up leaving the final bend. Driver N Williamson reported the filly had paced roughly throughout and been striking its knee.
TONY THE PONY - paced roughly in the score-up and was back several lengths at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up rounding the final bend.
Race 4   ALDEBARAN PARK GOLD CHIP FINAL HANDICAP TROT
BIG IRON - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
ROBO TROUBLE - lay inwards near the 1800 metres and struck a track marker. Trotted roughly in the early stages of the home straight.
GAZZA GALLEON - broke briefly shortly after the start.
SOUTH PARK - broke passing the 1800 metres losing all chance. Driver P Hunter advised the mare had taken fright at a dislodged track marker ahead.
MATAI JETSTAR - lay inwards rounding the bend passing the 900 metres, then trotted roughly.
OUR FOXY LADY - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
VENETO - trotted roughly in the early stages.
CUDDLY TROUBLE - broke racing round the first bend losing considerable ground.
Race 5   BEACH ROAD HOLIDAY PARK MOBILE PACE
HONOUR SCROLL - weakened from the 600 metres.
LADY'S LASS - raced wide until the 1100 metres when being restrained to the rear of the field to take cover. Weakened from the 700 metres. Driver T Robertson was warned to ensure his foot remains in the sulky footrest throughout.
BOUND TO BE BETTOR - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover. Raced wide rounding the final bend.
TAD LINCOLN - hampered by a tiring runner passing the 500 metres. Held up for clear racing room rounding the final bend and through the early stages of the home straight. Trainer A Wohlers was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 when presenting this runner with a non-warranted sulky.
KAGEE VC - lay inwards rounding the first bend contacting a number of track markers.
COOLHAND EASTON - broke briefly in the score-up.
MAGNATE MARA - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover.
Race 6   SOUTHLAND HARNESS AWARDS SUPER LADYSHIP FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
VINTAGE ROSE - hung inwards shortly after the start, rounding the first bend and on various other occasions throughout the running.
DIVINIA BELLEZZA - driver J Cox was shown the films and warned for the manner in which he shifted ground leaving the final bend.
Race 7   THANKS BRENT BALLANTYNE MOBILE PACE
ANNIE FITZ - weakened from the 400 metres.
UNLOADED - broke briefly in the score-up.
NOTA BENE DENARIO - hampered by a tiring runner rounding the final bend. Held up for clear racing room until the 100 metres with driver N Williamson reporting he did not activate the sliding blinds applied to the gelding due to this.
DOUBLE RAINBOW - raced wide in the early stages.
BRIDESDALE ROBYN - raced wide in the early stages.
FRANCO JUNE - weakened from the 350 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an elevated heart rate and showing signs of mild dehydration. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding in the coming days.
ARDENT LUSTRE - held up for clear racing room leaving the final bend. Junior driver J Morrison reported the gelding had cast a front racing plate during the running.
Trainer R Wilson advised Stewards on 15 April that blood tests taken from FRANCO JUNE following its disappointing performance at Ascot Park on 6 April revealed no abnormalities with Mr Wilson adding that the gelding has worked well in preparation for its resumption at Forbury Park on Thursday.
Race 8   CRUICKSHANK PRYDE HANDICAP PACE
TRIPLE VC - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
RAFFY ROO - swung sideways as the tapes were released hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke after 100 metres losing all chance and was eventually retired from the event.
SAGWITCH - hampered at the start. Hampered by a tiring runner near the 600 metres.
FRANCO SANTINO - hampered at the start. Broke passing the 2200 metres losing its chance. When questioned regarding this junior driver J Morrison could offer no explanation.
SANTANNA'S ROCKET - weakened from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an elevated heart rate, a poor recovery and some nasal discharge. Stewards will follow up the recovery in the coming days.
Trainer W Breen advised Stewards on 13 April that SANTANNA'S ROCKET was suffering from slight dehydration following its last run at Ascot Park and was given a brief freshen up in consequence.
Race 9   HAPPY BIRTHDAY MURRAY FAUL MOBILE PACE
THE WHITE RABBIT - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance, with the near front hopple breaking and coming adrift resulting in the colt being retired from the event. The gear was inspected by the Stewards and found to be in previously good condition.
ROMAGNA - weakened from the 700 metres. When questioned regarding the performance trainer W Adams advised that he was very disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. Mr Adams further added that the gelding would return to the workouts or trials prior to resuming. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
MISS WAIKIWI - Junior driver M Hurrell advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners applied to the mare. Trainer M Brown was warned for failing to affix gear so as not to malfunction.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - over-raced in the score-up. Weakened leaving the final bend.
TAIRLAW TOLL - trainer B Shirley was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 when presenting this runner in sliding blinds which had not been notified. Paced roughly in the early stages. Cleared from the Unruly for future mobile start events.
Race 10   DIAMONDS DAY 27TH APRIL HANDICAP TROT
NOTTINGHAM K TWO - trotted roughly and broke racing into the first bend losing ground.
SPOTLIGHT THE VALLEY - hampered by a tiring runner passing the 500 metres.
LYNETTE THE VET - lay inwards rounding the bends, contacting track markers.
CRUSHER COLLINS - displayed poor barrier manners and was sent to the outside of the front line by the Starter. Stood on the mark as the tapes were released then broke, losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
SAM GALLEON - weakened from the 600 metres. When questioned regarding the performance trainer P Williamson advised that he was very disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding in the coming days.
DIPENDRA - lay inwards and broke entering the first bend losing considerable ground. Broke again passing the 1800 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
DE VITO - broke passing the 1650 metres losing all chance.
WAR ADMIRAL - reported by driver T Stratford to have cast a front racing plate during the running.
Trainer P Williamson advised Stewards on 13 April that SAM GALLEON has recovered well following its disappointing performance at Ascot Park on 6 April and will continue with its current preparation.
