Due to the Mobile losing traction in Race 2 and following persistent rain, Moving Starts were adopted for the remainder of the programme.

Trainers were advised that mudguards were required to be used.

Due to the prevailing conditions, Stewards applied discretion when issuing penalties against horses.

Race 1   EQUINOX RESTAURANT AT FORBURY TROT
INESSA'S DREAM - shifted inwards late in the run home. Authorisation of 1st placing being awarded to the mare was withheld until Driver B Barclay (RICHARD THE THIRD) placed 2nd, confirmed his chances had not been affected when momentarily placed in restricted room late in the run home.
MAJESTIC ROLLON - broke after 150 metres.
COSMIC SUN - hung inwards near the 450 metres. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
WINNING BONES - broke near the 1900 metres.
DREAM OF PAT - broke near the 350 metres.
MAINLAND PAT - trotted roughly in the early and middle stages. Weakened from the 1100 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance, Driver J Campbell reported the filly had raced lethargically throughout. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the filly.
RICHARD THE THIRD - hung inwards throughout the run home and trotted roughly. Driver B Barclay reported the gelding had raced greenly throughout.
KEN'S DREAM - trotted roughly in the home straight.
HALFWAY THERE - broke passing the 2000 metres. Trotted roughly final bend.
PEGASUS HANOVER - broke racing into the first bend. Trotted roughly and broke briefly near the 900 metres.
BE BEE LASS - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1900 metres. Broke near the 850 metres.
GEORGIANA SPENCER - slow to begin. Broke racing into the first bend.
Race 2   NORWOOD FARM MACHINERY CENTRE MOBILE PACE
PRESIDENT PAT - paced roughly racing into the first bend. Hung in and paced roughly at various stages throughout. Broke briefly passing the 500 metres. Broke again near the 200 metres.
COME A KNOCKIN - broke in the score up and was back several lengths at the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Lost contact with the field from the 1100 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had bled. Stood down for the mandatory 30 days with the connections advised they must produce a Veterinary clearance prior to the horse trialing satisfactorily on one occasion.
LAYDEENWAITING - the required Veterinary clearance was received for the mare to resume racing.
INVISIBLE GIRL - the near side boring pole came adrift during the running.
TERRA FIRMA - broke shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 3   PRESIDENTS MOBILE PACE
FRANCO HATTON - hung outwards and paced roughly as the start was effected.
TACTICAL CHANGE - broke briefly racing into the first bend.
MONGOLIAN MACHETE - raced greenly near the 1600 metres when improving to the lead. Lay outwards over the concluding stages. Driver B Orange reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners.
FINAL DELIGHT - broke near the 1700 metres. Raced wide middle stages.

OFFICIAL CULLEN - raced wide early stages.
MIGHTY GEORGE - broke in the early stages of the score up.
SUPERSTAR LEGEND - broke in the early stages of the score up. Raced wide without cover from the 850 metres. Weakened final bend.
JAMIES BAD BOY - Driver R Close admitted a breach of Rule 862(2) in that he allowed his horse to start from the incorrect barrier position. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
MAD DOG MADDY - the required Veterinary clearance was received for the mare to resume racing. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards had confirmed the mare had started from the correct barrier position.
Race 4   RICOH TROT
TOPNOTCH EAGLE - broke near the 1900 metres and again near the 350 metres.
PAT THE MONKEY - weakened final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance Driver J Morrison reported the gelding had been unsuited to racing parked.
BONO HEST - lay outwards in the run home. Driver E Barron reported she was unable to activate the removable deafeners.
SPRINGFIELD EYRE - weakened final bend.
ANOTHERSUPERSTAR - over-raced early stages. Stewards questioned Driver R Allen regarding the amount of vigour he displayed in the home straight. Mr Allen explained that he had changed gear on the horse since breaking on several occasions at its last start and for this reason he was reluctant to place his runner under significant pressure as it had been trotting roughly at various stages throughout the event. After hearing from Mr Allen, Stewards took the matter no further.
STAR PRIDE - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the race.
WHATWILLBEEWILLBEE - raced wide early stages.
MICKEY JAY - slow through the early stages.
Race 5   PICK SIX STARTS NOW MOBILE PACE
SHINDAL - hung outwards throughout the home straight and was unable to be driven out.
MY NIKAYLA - weakened final bend.
KANSAS CITY JIM - paced roughly leaving the final bend. Hung inwards throughout the home straight.
EJA PATRON - broke near the 1900 metres after the near hind hopple loop broke and was retired from the race. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously satisfactory condition.
Race 6   NZ HORSE TRANSPORT PACE
IT'S A LAUGH - briefly locked wheels with SHEZ GORGEOUS near the 200 metres.
SHOTGUN WEDDING - hampered near the 1100 metres after an easing of the pace.
RAKAGEM - broke at the start.
LIVING FANTASY - held up final bend. Driver M Williamson was warned for the manner he drove passing the 1100 metres when easing the pace to obtain cover.
PHIL'S LAST CHANCE - broke at the start losing all chance.
DEPEND ON WASHIE - broke after 150 metres. Hampered near the 1100 metres after an easing of the pace.
ALE ALE KAI - began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover from the 800 metres. Hung inwards final bend when weakening and locked wheels with TOP PLAY.
SEFTON HOOLIGAN - paced roughly near the 1100 metres after striking the wheel of DEPEND ON WASHIE due to an easing of the pace.
SHEZ GORGEOUS - hung inwards leaving final bend after being shifted wider on the track by JACKS ANNE and briefly locked wheels with IT'S A LAUGH as a result.
TOP PLAY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2000 metres. Locked wheels with ALE ALE KAI near the 450 metres and lost ground as a result. Lay inwards in the home straight. Briefly hampered passing the 200 metres.
IMPERIAL TRUMP - Permission was granted for the gelding to race in alternate colours. Broke at the start. Over-raced middle stages. Broke at the 1100 metres when being restrained to avoid SEFTON HOOLIGAN which had paced roughly.
Race 7   RESENE COLORSHOP MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when SQUARE DEALER over-raced in the score up and improved into the front line despite the efforts of Driver E Barron.
BANK RAIDER - hung inwards and struck pylons leaving the final bend.
BELLA VELOCE - held up final bend. Driver T Chmiel was warned to ensure his whip remains within the confines of his sulky.
RIPSNORTER - weakened from the 500 metres. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the push out rule near the 1350 metres when MYRCELLA briefly raced four wide. After viewing the replays it was established that J Morrison (RIPSNORTER) had commenced his outwards movement prior to MYRCELLA reaching his sulky wheel. Stewards took the matter no further.
IDEOLOGIST - lay inwards throughout the run home.
MYRCELLA - raced wide without cover from the 1100 metres.
NO MORE CHANGE - raced four wide from the 500 metres before weakening rounding the final bend. Driver J Campbell (assisted by C Ferguson) admitted a breach of Rule 857(7)(e) in that he crossed over before reaching the starting point. This matter was adjourned by the JCA to be heard at the Invercargill HRC meeting on Saturday 6 April.
COOLHAND EASTON - hampered near the 400 metres. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
HOT STARFF - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
Driver J Campbell (represented by C Ferguson) admitted a breach of Rule 857(7)(e) in that he crossed over before reaching the starting point when driving NO MORE CHANGE. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $100.
Race 8   DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS HANDICAP TROT
IMRAN KHAN - held up final bend.
MISSALYSSA - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the race. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
DUSKY EYRE - trotted roughly near the 2500 metres. Weakened from the 500 metres.
ZEDDIE MARIT - broke near the 2400 metres. Broke again near the 900 metres losing all chance and was retired from the race.
Race 9   YALDHURST HOTEL PACE
LEADING THE WAY - broke at the start.
THABOYZ TOY - held up final bend.
RED TERROR - broke at the start. Driver N Williamson reported the gelding had over-raced through the middle stages.
DODGE PHOENIX - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the race.
HURRICANE BANNER - hung outwards late in the run home.
JACKS N JAZZ - broke at the start. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards had confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations at the start.
FIERY FERRET - broke at the start. Had to be steadied late in the run home when awkwardly placed close to the sulky of HURRICANE BANNER.
GOODTHINGSTAKETIME - broke at the start. Weakened final bend.
JIMMY RICHTER - broke near the 400 metres.
SHEEZA SPORT - Permission was granted for the mare to race in alternate colours. Slow in the early stages.
Race 10   NEXT RACEMEETING 18TH APRIL MOBILE PACE
THE DOORMAN - crowded racing into the first bend. Hung outwards leaving the final bend and locked wheels with CANDIDASA. Continued to hang outwards for the remainder of the home straight. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Trainer/Driver J Cox advised he would have his Veterinarian examine the horse in the coming days and notify Stewards of any findings.
ULTIMATE SASSENACH - over-raced middle stages. Hampered near the 200 metres and paced roughly.
CANDIDASA - crowded racing into the first bend. Locked wheels with THE DOORMAN near the 200 metres and was forced wider on the track.
CANSTAR - Driver T Chmiel admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $300.
FIRST SON - crowded racing into the first bend. Weakened from the 400 metres.
KOTARE ELITE - Permission was granted for the mare to race in alternate colours.
PAUL'S VERDICT - Driver R Close was warned for the manner he drove racing into the first bend when crowding inside runners.
Trainer J Cox advised Stewards on 12 April that veterinary checks of THE DOORMAN revealed no abnormalities with the gelding continuing with its current preparation.
