Race Comments

Race 1   NELSON PINE INDUSTRIES PACE
Stewards ordered this race be stopped after the field had raced 300 metres due to Driver S Ottley (OLDE OAK ELLIE) being dislodged from the sulky shortly after the start, resulting in her horse running driverless behind the field. Due to the race being stopped and the field not having raced in excess of 1000 metres all horses were Vet checked and Drivers consulted, confirming they were comfortable with their horses taking part in the rerun. Miss Ottley was examined by St John personnel and cleared to fulfil her remaining driving engagements.
ULTIMATE SWIFT - hung inwards through the run home.
OLDE OAK ELLIE - broke at the start losing its chance.
SHEZA BROMAC - displayed poor barrier manners at the start with a warning being placed on the barrier record of this filly. The inside rein became entangled in the sulky shaft with the Driver of ULTIMATE SWIFT, D Keast, attempting to free the rein rounding the first bend which was unsuccessful. Raced lethargically thereafter. When questioned regarding the performance Driver G Smith advised that due to the rein becoming entangled this had placed the filly at a disadvantage to be driven competitively. Mr Smith could not confirm it had happened prior to the tapes being released and this could not be identified on video replays with the all clear given.
