Race 1 - WOODLANDS STUD NORTHERN DERBY PRELUDE (MOBILE PACE) |
Co-Trainer M Purdon advised Stewards on 6 March that ULTIMATE SNIPER has recovered well following its performance at Alexandra Park last Friday. Mr Purdon added that the colt had hung throughout the running last week and had worked well in a Murphy Blind this week with this being added to the colt's gear for this week's assignment. |
Race 3 - COKE NO SUGAR MOBILE PACE |
Trainer M Berger advised Stewards on 5 March that blood tests taken from ABOUT TURN following its performance at Alexandra Park last Friday revealed some abnormalities with the colt being treated thus necessitating its scratching from its engagement this week. |
Race 6 - WOODLANDS STUD DERBY NIGHT TURNING UP AP MARCH MOB PACE |
Trainer A Donnelly advised Stewards on 6 March that blood tests and a veterinary examination of DOUBLE ROCKET following its performance at Auckland on 1 March revealed no abnormalities with the colt continuing with its current preparation. |

When challenged for the lead passing the 600 metres, failed to respond and only battled on from that point finishing 5th 15.4lengths in arrears of the winner. Driver Z Butcher could not offer any explanation for the favourite's performance. A post race veterinary examination found no abnormality. | |

The colt raced erratically racing into the first bend inconveniencing trailing runners. Approaching the 1500 metres shifted inward then outward abruptly checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on LOUIE THE HORSE's racing manners record. | |
TWO FIFTYEIGHT - inconvenienced racing into the first bend. Approaching the 1500 metres checked by the horse it was trailing which raced erratically in front of it as a result was checked and broke losing 2 lengths with a resultant check to another runner. | |
