Race 1   PEGASUS SPUR AT WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE TROT
LITTLE BRO - Broke for several strides and was slow to move away early in the score-up resulting in it being back a length at dispatch.
PHOEBE IMPERIAL - slow to move away from the pre-race circle and was a length off the mobile at dispatch.
SOL INVICTUS - broke late in the score-up losing all chance.
ANGUS BURGA - a length out of position at the start. Inclined to lay out throughout the run home shifting ground outward. Junior Horseman T Lethaby was reminded of his obligation to maintain his position behind the gate.
ABOVE THE REST - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having got both front legs over a rail in the bird cage and was cleared to start.
Authorisation of placings was withheld until Stewards viewed the photo finish in relation to the first placing following the Judge declaring a dead heat.
Race 2   ASURE SADDLE & SULKY MOTEL MOBILE PACE
AIN'T NOTHING BETTOR - broke late in the score-up checking a second row runner. Broke passing the 650 metres losing it's chance. Warnings were placed on the mare's mobile and racing manners records.
FRANCO HOFFMAN - raced greenly entering the first turn contacting several markers. Held up final turn and failed to get clear racing room throughout the run home finishing in sixth place beaten 3.7 lengths.
RAGING THUNDER- checked late in the score-up by a galloping runner. Stewards declared the gelding a non-runner with it being a late scratching under Rule 213(1)(j) on the grounds that it was denied a fair start. Starter G Benton was shown the video coverage of the start and spoken to advisedly.
LADY AMEERA - Inconvenienced near the 1500 metres when there was an easing of the pace and was taken wider on the track. Became unbalanced for several strides after the crossing.
CATCH THE DREAM - raced three wide early.
BLAKE - became unbalance travelling over the crossing. Broke losing ground. Broke free of interference approaching the 650 losing it's chance. The gelding was declared ineligible until such time as it trials satisfactorily.
Race 3   SPORTY'S BAR & CAFE MOBILE TROT
There was a 12 minute delay to the start of this race due to two false starts being declared.
MACKALI - caused a false start when galloping in the middle stages of the score-up checking a second row runner. Driver P Ferguson elected to start from the unruly position for the re-start. A warning was placed on this mare's mobile barrier manners. Inconvenienced late in the score-up at the second attempt. Raced three wide early.
LITTLEBITOFLOVE - broke at the start and settled at the rear.
JOUR HIGHNESS - broke approaching the 450 metres losing it's chance.
OUR ROSA - caused a false start at the second attempt when galloping late in the score-up checking a second row runner. Driver B Hackett elected to maintain his allocated barrier position. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
BURT MUNRO - raced four wide early and then three wide middle stages.
ONE YANKEE SON - lay in in the initial score-up before being checked and breaking as a result. Sent to the unruly at the request of Driver T Mitchell. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
MY BOY BOO - broke in the score-up at the third attempt losing it's chance.
Race 4   GRANT CROSSAN PANELBEATING MOBILE PACE
There was a three minute delay to the start at the request of Race Day Control.
TOMMY TAHI - broke shortly after the start and settled towards the rear. A warning was placed on this gelding's mobile barrier manners. Over-raced after settling three wide over the early stages. Continued to race three wide for some distance before being restrained to the rear. Weakened final stages.
BYE BYE LUCY - weakened final turn.
MAC'S TOMADO - held up early final turn.
JETSON HUNTER - raced three wide early.
Race 5   TELFER YOUNG VALUERS MOBILE PACE
ITSOKBEINGBETTER - unable to maintain it's position behind the mobile despite the efforts of Driver K Marshall and was back from position at dispatch. Raced three wide early to race one out outside the leader approaching the 1400 metres. Received cover at the 1000 metres and weakened inside the final 400 metres.
MARQUIS EYRE - held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
ZULU COURAGE - from it's wide barrier position improved forward to lead passing the 1400 metres. Only battled inside the final 150 metres to finish fifth beaten 3.4 lengths.
RANGI RANGDU - held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
OUR WICKLOW - removed from the unruly for mobile starts.
Race 6   REVITAL FERTILISERS TARANAKI CUP (MOBILE PACE)
BUBBLE GUM - broke in the latter stages of the score-up and was well back from position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners.
MISTER HARRIS - Driver K More was warned to change his whip action and also spoken to advisedly with regard to allowing his gelding to shift down marginally into the passing lane over the final stages.
BILL HALEY - broke in the early stages of the score-up and was well back from position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners.
RED MAGIC - raced three wide early before being restrained to settle near the rear. Weakened final stages.
COUNT LANDECK - inconvenienced in the score-up.
MY GENERATION - raced back in mid-field and failed to run on to finish in ninth place beaten 11.7 lengths. When questioned regarding the performance Trainer/Driver D Balle could offer no explanation for the disappointing run and advised he would be withdrawing the entire from the Stratford meeting on the 2nd of March 2019.
Race 7   TARANAKI ASSOCIATED CLEANERS MOBILE PACE
The start of this event was delayed to enable the connections of GEOFF'S LEGACY to locate the saddle cloth number. Stewards allowed GEOFF'S LEGACY to complete it's preliminary without a saddle cloth number so as to not unduly delay the start.
WAINGARO MARA - Driver K Marshall reported that he had not activated the deafeners due to having the field covered.
GO GETTA - raced three wide early.
Race 8   WOODLANDS STUD TARANAKI BREEDERS STAKES MOBILE PACE
MOTU LITTLE PRINCESS - broke early in the score-up and was well back from position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners. Became unbalanced and broke racing over the crossing near the 1500 metres losing considerable ground.
VIBE - weakened final turn.
STARS DELIGHT - tended to shift out under pressure in the run home.
Race 9   100TH CENTENARY SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 29TH 2020 MOBILE PACE
HEZALUCKYGRINNER - placed in restricted room approaching the 100 metres.
LIBERAL ARDEN - raced three wide early.
THE KAPITI EXPRESS - over-raced when being restrained over the early stages. Raced three wide for some distance before weakening from the 600 metres.
JETENARA - shifted in near the 100 metres and had to be straightened.
NANELLE FRANCO - became unbalanced and broke racing over the crossing.
MR BILLIARDS - shifted in under pressure near the 100 metres and had to be corrected by Junior Driver D Ferguson.
WESTBURN YIELD - became unbalanced and broke racing over the crossing.
VON RICHTHOFEN - raced three wide early. Raced erratically near the 150 metres when tending to run around and was corrected by Driver B Orange.
