Co-trainer T Chmiel advised Stewards on 23 February that blood tests taken from DIBABA after its disappointing performance at Addington on 15 February revealed no abnormalities. Mr Chmiel further advised that the mare was suffering from hock sensitivity and has had its hocks injected and will resume at Alexandra Park on 1 March 2019. |

SAGINAW - when questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer/driver R Cameron advised the colt had not been suited by the grass track at its previous start and had derived benefit from the application of blinds today. | |
JUST MICHAEL - when questioned regarding the horse's performance driver L O'Reilly could only advise he had been very disappointed with its efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. | |

JAFFA - out of position at the start. Driver C Markham was issued with a warning to make a greater effort in future. | |

KACIE CULLEN - the boring pole was removed prior to the start after warming up unfavourably. Back from the unruly position at the start. Weakened from the 200 metres. When questioned regarding the performance, driver J Dunn advised the mare had locked on one rein and he would be recommending gear changes prior to resuming. | |
Trainer J Hooper advised Stewards on 28 February that JUST MICHAEL has had its stifles injected since last racing. |

ONEDIN SMILER - checked by inside runner and then broke with 250 metres to run. | |
SHADOW DANCER - shifted out with 250 metres to run to avoid a weakening runner, contacting the wheel of NANS CHOICE and inconveniencing DON'T TELL ANGE and ONEDIN SMILER resulting in ONEDIN SMILER being checked and breaking. Stewards spoke with drivers L McCormick (SHADOW DANCER) and G Shand (ONEDIN SMILER) regarding this incident and after doing so Mr McCormick was issued with a charge alleging he had been careless at this time. Mr McCormick admitted the breach and after considering penalty submissions, the JCA suspended his Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 23 February up to and including 10 March 2019 (6 days). | |

CAESAR'S QUEST - When questioned regarding his decision not to surrender the lead to LINTON SHARD at an earlier stage between the 1200 metres and the 1000 metres C Thornley explained that his runner was travelling well on the bit and appeared to be comfortable running solid sectionals. He added that he was aware LINTON SHARD was a better rated and supported horse however for that reason felt it would ultimately serve him better to make that runner work for the front. Mr Thornley said that his horse had performed appreciably better today than it had in a number of starts when able to be driven in that manner. | |

SPOT ON - tangled away. When questioned regarding the performance, driver J Dunn reported that he had been unable to advance his position after starting from a 20 metre handicap with the solid tempo set throughout and felt the gelding had raced up to his expectations considering those factors. | |
