GOLDEN QUEST - sustained a flat sulky wheel tyre when shifting ground outward to the inside of BELLE OF MONTANA approaching the 300 metres.
CHEVRON SUPREME - a Protest was lodged against the filly's 3rd placing on the grounds that it interfered with the chances of the 4th placed HAVTIME (S Phelan) when it shifted ground outward between the 200 metres and 150 metres marks impeding its progress. The JCA upheld the Protest relegating CHEVRON SUPREME from 3rd to 4th placing in behind HAVTIME with the official margin being a head between 3rd and 4th. Trainer R Dunn advised that he was required to make a last minute sulky change prior to the horses parading and that the hopple shorteners had to be applied to that replacement sulky. Driver B Mangos released the hopple shorteners over the early stages of the race when the near side shortener failed to release as the activation cord was too long. CHEVRON SUPREME when entering the home straight was laying out and shifted outward abruptly in reaction to Driver B Mangos activating the removable deafeners and as a result impeded the progress of HAVTIME. Mr Mangos was shown further video coverage of the incident and after taking into account the gear issue and the filly's racing manners no further action was deemed necessary.
