Trainer B Ford advised Stewards on 3 November that DOCTOR BONES has recovered well following its run at Kaikoura on Monday with the gelding possibly going to the Cup Day trials at Addington next Wednesday before resuming.

Trainer M Purdon advised Stewards on 3 November that MAJOR HIPPIE has recovered well since its disappointing performance at Kaikoura on Monday adding that the gelding has since been sold.

Race 1	CHEVRON QUALITY CARS RACE NIGHT MOBILE PACE Video
AdTZ2HSO1d0 The start was delayed when St John personnel had to attend to a person in the stand.
ALL NUTS N BOLTS - under pressure passing the 1000 metres and compounded soon after finishing a distant last. When questioned, driver D Dunn was unable to offer any explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination showed the gelding to have suffered an atrial fibrillation.
IODEAN - raced roughly for a short distance near the 1500 metres.
BURNING RUBBER - broke near the 1500 metres. Held up late in the run home.
CARLAW PARK - broke near the 1600 metres.
THE GOLDEN BOY - out of position at the start. Driver B Laughton was issued with a warning to ensure that he makes a better effort in future.
BUBBLE GUM - held up in the early stages of the run home.
RED TERROR - returned to the birdcage with a broken overcheck. This gear was inspected and found to be in good order.

STELLAR SUCCESS - broke shortly after the start. Again broke near the 2500 metres losing further ground.
BK DAWN - held up at the 600 metres.
SHPEEDY - weakened on the final bend. When questioned regarding the mare's performance, driver G Smith explained that in his opinion the mare was better suited to races run over a shorter distance. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities.
LUNDQVIST - broke after 150 metres. Broke again at the 1000 metres. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial. The connections advised it was their intention to remove the gelding from their training care.
WOODSTONE - broke at the 1700 metres.
NO FEARS - trotted roughly and hung inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.
JERRY GARCIA - broke after 200 metres.

YOUNG STRANGER - broke at the 1700 metres.
MAJESTIC MOMENT - hung in the score up and was out of position at the start.
FOREVERMAN - lay outwards through the final straight and because of this did not make use of the passing lane.
ALVIRA HEST - checked in the initial score up with a false start declared. Slightly out of position at the re-start.
TESSA'S ROCKET - broke in the score up checking ALVIRA HEST with a false start being declared. Out of position at the re-start. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Driver R Close elected to remain in his barrier position for the re-start.

ALOKA - when questioned regarding the performance, driver B Orange could only advise he had been disappointed with the colt's performance. Stewards will follow up with trainer N McGrath in the coming days.
HENRY HUBERT - paced roughly as the start was effected. Again paced roughly at the 1400 metres.
ZION BROMAC - broke after 200 metres. Driver N Purdon reported the gelding to have struck a knee.
CULLENBURN - inconvenienced after 200 metres. Raced wide throughout. Weakened on the final bend.
TENNYSON BROMAC - driver M Neilson was spoken to regarding the manner she drove near the 150 metres when allowing her foot to remain free of the footrest for a short distance.
SPANKEM - over-raced in the early stages.

RONALD J - trotted roughly early stages of the run home. Broke with 80 metres remaining. Disqualified from 4th placing for breaking in excess of 50 metres over the final 200 metres.

OnR56rdPSLM BETTOR'S HEART - when spoken to regarding the mare's performance, driver J Dunn reported his horse had travelled lethargically throughout and in his opinion had been unsuited to the track. Stewards will follow up with trainer P Bagrie in the coming days.
SPONDULICKS - broke after 100 metres. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. The connections advised it was their intention to add hopple shorteners to the gelding's gear.
ROYAL BENGAL - over-raced middle stages.
DREAMY DAMIEN - received treatment for a laceration to the front left pastern following the race.
PATANJALI - broke after being inconvenienced by breaking runner after 100 metres.
SHINEONUCRAZYDIAMOND - held up rounding the final bend.

CHAAAT - paced roughly as the start was effected and settled back as a result.
MACH UP - raced wide in the early stages.
REMACHABLE IDEA - over-raced early stages.
NURBURGRING - raced wide from the 1600 metres.
STILL OF THE NIGHT - held up rounding the final bend.
IT'S A DEAL - hampered in the early stages. Raced fiercely through the middle stages and near the 1100 metres made contact with the sulky of STILL OF THE NIGHT pushing that runner forwards onto the wheel of HAVANA MOON causing IT'S A DEAL to break and lose its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of this runner.
