Race 1   JONTY'S JOURNEY TROT
APPEARANCE broke at the start and bounded outwards making heavy contact with the sulky of MILLY AN EYRE causing driver J Curtin to become dislodged and gallop free of the driver for a short distance. MILLY AN EYRE fell to the track after 100 metres and in doing so checked NEVER MIND with driver J Geddes dislodged from his cart. Stewards stopped the race and declared MILLY AN EYRE a late scratching. Drivers J Curtin and J Geddes were cleared of injury. APPEARANCE was placed on the Unruly for the re-start. NEVER MIND passed a pre-race Veterinary examination.
GEORGIANA SPENCER - broke near the 700 metres.
FAR FROM TRUE - late scratching at 8.07am.
FEKITOA - shifted outwards under pressure through the final straight. Driver J Dunn advised that the gelding was on one rein through this stage of the race and further advised that he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
APPEARANCE - broke after 200 metres.
NEVER MIND - swung outwards soon after the start losing ground. Raced wide from the 1100 metres. Broke near the 650 metres.
AORANGI - fractious at the re-start. Slow in the early stages. Hampered by breaking runners near the 600 metres.
SUPERFAST LAD - cleared from the Unruly for future standing starts.
JAGUAR BAY - broke at the start losing its chance.
SPY DA MOMENT - broke at the start then again briefly near the 1300 metres.
Race 2   GOLDING AT HARCOURTS FOUR SEASONS PACE
GIGI GORGEOUS - broke at the start.
MYSISTERSAPOLEDANCER - driver R Close advised that he sustained a flat tyre down the back straight.
DIAMOND SHADOW - broke at the start and lost its chance.
JONTY KEV - raced keenly through the middle stages.
DALNESS ARIZONA - broke at the start. Lay inwards near the 400 metres continued to lay in entering the final straight placing TIZ A SWEETHEART in restricted room.
KING OF HEROES - lay outwards over the final stages crowding VICTOR TANGO which had to be steadied.
TIZ A SWEETHEART - placed in restricted room and had to be steadied near the 400 metres when weakening. When questioned regarding the mare's performance driver C Thornley advised that the mare may not of been suited to today's track conditions especially from the parked position.
FUSITUA - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
VICTOR TANGO - had to be steadied prior to the finishing line when placed in restricted room
NATIVE ONEINAMILLION - hampered in the early stages and got back as a result.
SHERRY BABY - lay in through the early stages of the run home. Shifted in abruptly just prior to the finishing post placing VICTOR TANGO in tight quarters. Driver B Munro was fined the sum of $300 for using his whip outside of Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations.
Race 3   MITCH KERR RACING STABLES MOBILE PACE
DYING TO SEE YOU - weakened final bend. Driver G Smith advised he sustained a punctured sulky wheel.
BHAKTI - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home. Shifted up the track for some distance over the concluding stages. Driver R Cameron was cautioned in regard to keeping a straight course throughout the run home in future.
IREBY MEG - had to be steadied near the 900 metres due to an easing of the pace.
MR ASIA - wide in the early stages.
MELT DOWN - held up throughout the run home.
JUST BEN - over-raced in the early stages.
DOC SEELSTER - broke in the early stages of the score up and was out of position as a result. A warning was on the gelding's barrier record. Weakened final stages. The connections advised the horse was now to be spelled.
PAY ME VISA - held up by tiring runner final bend. When questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer A Stuart advised that it had benefited from an economical trip today after racing better than its form suggested two starts ago.
DONEGAL CARNBOUY - broke in the early stages of the score-up and was out of position as a result. A warning was on the gelding's barrier record. Broke near the 1300 metres. Slipped an overcheck during the running. Held up through the early and middle stages of the run home.
LITTLE RAIN - had to be steadied near the 900 metres due to an easing of the pace.
BAKER CREEK - wide in the early stages.
ROCKAHULA JOE - had to be steadied near the 900 metres due to an easing of the pace.
OHOKA MATTY - shifted up the track through the middle stages of the run home. Driver J Alford was spoken to advisedly in regard to this.
Race 4   MATT GOLDING FINANCE SERVICES TROT
LISA MARIE P - broke approaching the 1400 metres.
RUSTY I AM - tangled briefly at the start.
STELLAR SUCCESS - broke at the start.
TEQUILA SUNSET - broke at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400 metres.
LONE STAR LAD - raced wide in the early stages. Trotted roughly over the final stages. The all clear was delayed until the Stewards were satisfied that the gelding was not in a break over the finishing line.
BRIGHT GLOW - raced wide from the 1100 metres.
FIREMAN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400 metres. Raced keen through the middle stages.
FRANCO JOSIAH - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400 metres.
SPURRED BY SUCCESS - broke near the 400 metres.
WESTEROS - trainer M Smolenski was fined $100 for presenting this gelding with a pacifier which had not been notified. Slow through the early stages losing ground.
Race 5   MORRIE MOLLOY MEMORIAL JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
RAH DE RAH - held up for clear racing room early stages of the run home.
IDEOLOGIST - held up in the final bend. Lay outwards over the final stages.
HES FAST AND FURIOUS - raced wide from the 800 metres.
FRANCO SHERBORNE - shifted in and had to be steadied when awkwardly placed to the inside of IMMORTAL CHANGE near the 300 metres. Had to be steadied again near the 120 metres when placed awkwardly to the inside of IMMORTAL CHANGE.
ADAM PATRON - weakened passing the 400 metres.
IMMORTAL CHANGE - Junior driver S Tomlinson was shown the film and spoken to in regard to maintaining a straight course in the run home in future.
SWAP OVER - trainer J Miller was questioned regarding the gelding starting today after having previously (24.11.18) scratched on a rain affected track. Mr Miller explained the track was rated slow that day and he believed it to be further degrading. He added the track today appeared much firmer than on that occasion and that he anticipated his horse would handle it better. Held up early stages of the run home.
KNOCKMANAUGH - raced keen and had to be steadied near the 1100 metres.
Race 6   STALLIONS AUSTRALASIA HANDICAP TROT
MONARO MARO - broke in the early stages losing considerable ground.
WESTEROS - after starting in Race four today was examined by the Vet however was found to have not recovered sufficiently and so was late scratched.
SUN SWINGER - broke briefly at the start. Trotted roughly in the run home.
IDEAL INVASION - broke in the early stages losing considerable ground.
ZSA ZOE - broke near the 1600 metres.
Race 7   WESTVIEW RACING LOVES JONTY HANDICAP PACE
ITZ A MAJOR BABE - broke at the start.
BOBBY T - broke at the start. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
GEORGIAS BARON - broke when shifting down towards the parked position near the 900 metres.
FRANKIE JONES - broke at the start.
ALL ABOUT HENRY - began awkwardly.
ARTICULIGHT - weakened passing the 600 metres.
Race 8   ZANE & DALE MOBILE PACE
REFINE - trainer J McDermott was questioned regarding the filly starting today after having previously (25.11.18) scratched on a rain affected track. Mr McDermott explained the horse had strengthened up noticeably since that day and felt she was now far better placed to handle a wet track. Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record. Hampered near the 1500 metres. Trainer J McDermott advised that the filly will be sent for a spell.
CONQUISTADOR - raced roughly then broke racing into the first bend.
FRANCO HATTON - raced wide in the early stages. Held up in the early stages of the run home.
POCKET ROCKNROLL - broke near the 1500 metres. A warning was placed on the mare's racing record.
COMFORTABLY NUMB - raced wide from the 1400 metres and weakened final stages
OLIVE COOK - raced wide from the 1400 metres and weakened final stages.
Race 9   MURRAY & LARRY HAMILTON/MORRISON SADDLERY MOBILE PACE
CLASSY KID - wide early stages.
JONTY JAMES - over-raced early and middle stages. Weakened considerably final stages.
KARDESLER - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room early and middle stages of the run home.
LEADING THE WAY - weakened considerably final stages.
THE KAIK - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
GUIDO DA SIENA - trainer A Stuart was fined $100 for presenting the gelding without the notified blinds. Weakened near the 500 metres and was distanced over the final stages. Trainer A Stuart advised that he will be sending the gelding for a spell.
Trainer W Stapleton advised Stewards on 9 May that LEADING THE WAY has been treated for dehydration since last racing.
