Mr Smith explained that his horse had been hanging outwards and in his opinion FUNATTHEBEACH, which had shifted inwards ahead of him would continue to take advantage of the passing lane throughout and in doing so deny him access. Given this he explained his best course of action to obtain racing room was to shift outwards where he expected ELLE MAC to give ground enough for him to gain clear racing room however this did not eventuate. Mr Smith added that although he failed to gain clear running and had not activated the gelding's removable gear he was still able to drive the horse out to the finish. After viewing available films and taking into account the explanation tendered by Mr Smith, the matter was taken no further. |
