Race 2 - PI & GJ KENNARD BLOODSTOCK PACE
Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 12 April that blood tests taken from RAKSBET during the week revealed no abnormalities. Mr Todd added that the gelding has worked well since that race in preparation for a resumption at Winton on Saturday.
Race 9 - DIAMOND CREEK FARM NEW ZEALAND PACING DERBY (MOBILE PACE)
P Robertson was fined $200 for presenting CHILLER BAY late onto the track.
Rangiora HRC - Sunday, 7th April 2019
Race 1 - BISHOPDALE/BUSH INN TAB'S AMATEUR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
Driver C Negus admitted using her whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of the Whip Regulations when driving HIGHLAND REIGN and was fined $200 by the JCA. Mrs Negus was also issued with a warning and severely reprimanded for displaying an unacceptable lack of control when allowing her horse to race unnecessarily wide on the track.
Race 3 - ASHLEY MOBILE PACE
Driver M Anderson defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(f) which alleged he drove improperly by allowing his foot to contact the hind leg of COMFORTABLY NUMB on numerous occasions in the home straight. After viewing the films and hearing evidence, the JCA found the charge proved and Mr Anderson's Horseman's Licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing at Rangiora HRC on 14 April up to and including 23 April 2019 (4 days).
Race 8 - AIRPARK RANGIORA CLASSIC DAY 14 APRIL HANDICAP TROT
Stewards have concluded an investigation into the driving tactics of D Keast upon LOVEY DOVEY MOMENT. After considering the explanation of Mr Keast at this meeting and making further inquiries throughout the week Stewards took the matter no further.

Race 1   BISHOPDALE/BUSH INN TAB'S AMATEUR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
SHARDAN SUZIE - when spoken to regarding the performance, trainer C McDowell explained the mare had become agitated after the false start and had been striking the sulky wheels.
CANARDLY REMEMBER - a false start was declared when CANARDLY REMEMBER paced roughly in the score up inconveniencing RUSSIAN EXPRESS. Driver G Bull elected to remain in his barrier position for the re-start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of CANARDLY REMEMBER. Out of position at the re-start despite the efforts of driver G Bull. Stood down to complete one satisfactory mobile trial.
CHELSEA ELLA - checked and broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground. Driver S Murtha was warned for driving over the final stages with his foot free of the sulky footrest.
HIGHLAND REIGN - got its head up and lay outwards in the early stages when being restrained. Hampered racing into the first bend having to be restrained.
SENORITA MARGARITA - driver P Wallace was issued with a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he was careless through the early stages when shifting down the track whilst not clear of inside runners. Mr Wallace admitted the breach and the JCA suspended his Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 12 September 2019.
WARLOCH - checked racing into the first bend losing ground. Briefly held up near the 100 metres.
FLAMBOYANT - checked on the first bend.
I'M SICK OF EXCUSES - checked racing into the first bend losing ground. Weakened from the 800 metres. Stood down pending a satisfactory trial.
KANSAS CITY JIM - checked and broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground.
Race 2   CLARKSON SIGNS - SUPPLIER OF ADDINGTON'S SIGNAGE MOBILE PACE
DIE STANDING - underwent and passed a pre-race Veterinary examination which was requested as the gelding had not raced since December 2017.
WILLIAM WALLACE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the colt.
CULLENS CONSPIRACY - over-raced through the middle stages. Held up on the final bend.
Race 3   CLARKSON SIGNS - COMPLETE SIGNAGE SOLUTIONS MOBILE TROT
LISTEN EASY - trotted roughly in the score up and was back slightly at the start. Hung inwards near the 900 metres and struck pylons. Weakened over the final stages. Returned to the stable area with blood present in a nostril. A post-race veterinary examination confirmed the mare had bled. Stood down for the mandatory 30 days with the connections advised that they must provide a veterinary clearance including a scope prior to completing one satisfactory trial.
MIDNIGHT MEMORIES - raced wide early stages.
STEEL LEGEND - broke in the score up losing considerable ground.
CHAMPAGNE PRINCE - broke after 200 metres.
Race 4   CLARKSON SIGNS - TRADITIONAL HANDCRAFTED SIGNS MOBILE PACE
LOCKED OUT OF HEAVEN - driver C Butt admitted using his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of the Whip Regulations and the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
FRANCO RIOT - driver A Lethaby admitted using her whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of the Whip Regulations and the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
CINDY BROMAC - briefly had to be steadied passing the 100 metres when runners either side shifted ground.
BAKER CREEK - over-raced middle stages.
CHANGE IS GOOD - trainer M Kerr was issued a $50 Minor Infringement Notice after being late to notify a change of gear. Retired from the race passing the 2000 metres after the number broke and came adrift.
B MAC C - shifted inwards at the top of the straight in an attempt to access the passing lane however had to be restrained when a full run was not presented causing the gelding to race over several track markers. Held up throughout the run home. Driver J Cox reported the deafeners were not released in consequence.
ZIPPIDY DOODAH - paced roughly throughout.
Race 5   CLARKSON SIGNS - DIGITALLY PRINTED SIGNAGE MOBILE PACE
BOMBSHELL - over-raced middle stages.
REFINE - weakened final bend.
CUTE - hung inwards shortly after the start. Raced wide in the early stages and was restrained to the rear of the field. Hung inwards near the 1400 metres and broke briefly. Caused driver M Williamson some difficulty throughout. Stewards deemed that this performance was unsatisfactory and in consequence stood the mare down to complete a satisfactory trial. Weakened final bend.
DEANNE PANYA - raced roughly when being restrained in the early stages and raced greenly.
UNO MIA - held up leaving the final bend.
NIGHT LIGHTS - over-raced middle stages.
Race 6   MAGNESS BENROW SIRES STAKES FILLIES SERIES HEAT 4 (MOB PACE)
RAKASTELLA - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver M Williamson.
AMAZING DREAM - over-raced middle stages. When spoken to regarding the manner in which she drove the filly throughout the final straight with particular regard to the minimal pressure she applied, driver N Rasmussen explained the horse had over-raced throughout and had not responded to the activation of the deafeners or when tried with the whip in the home straight. Ms Rasmussen added that in her opinion her filly was clearly not travelling as well as the winner which had gone past her easily so as a result she ceased in her whip use. Stewards accepted her explanation.
After this race the track was upgraded to fast.
Race 7   CLARKSON SIGNS - VEHICLE SIGNAGE MOBILE TROT
AGATHA TYRON - broke passing the 2000 metres.
BJ LINDENNY - broke near the 800 metres. Struck pylons leaving the final bend when placed in restricted room.
MARIA TSARINA - weakened near the 700 metres. When questioned regarding the performance, driver D Butt advised the mare had worked too hard during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ONE OVER DA SKYE - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start.
RUM IN THE SUN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 60 metres.
WEE MAN TROUBLE - broke when being taken forward towards the lead near the 2100 metres. Again broke near the 1500 metres losing its chance.
MAJESTIC HURRICANE - raced fiercely in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Over-raced in the early stages.
ONE OVER DA STARS - back from the unruly position at the start. Broke passing the 100 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
LOVEY DOVEY MOMENT - back from the unruly position at the start. Trotted roughly on the final bend and throughout the home straight.
Race 8   CLARKSON SIGNS - LOGO & BRANDING DESIGN MOBILE PACE
DOCTOR TIM - hampered by a tiring runner final bend.
SMOKE N REACTOR - hampered by a tiring runner final bend.
STOMPEM - forced wider on the track near the 1500 metres before breaking. Hung inwards on the final bend. Driver M Anderson reported he had difficulty steering the gelding throughout.
ENCHANTEE - junior driver L McKay (assisted by S Ottley) admitted a breach of Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) in that she shifted outwards near the 1500 metres forcing STOMPEM wider on the track. After submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
STUN GUN - weakened from the 500 metres. Hung inwards and struck pylons on the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance, driver B Orange could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MEMPHIS TENNESSEE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1450 metres.
WAINUI CREEK - over-raced early stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1450 metres.
FRANCO HAMPTON - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1450 metres.
Race 9   CLARKSON SIGNS - BUILDING SIGNAGE MOBILE TROT
CRUSHER COLLINS - weakened from the 400 metres.
GRAND PRINCESS - broke near the 200 metres.
CHIVASION - had to be steadied near the 900 metres due to an easing of the pace.
SHE'S SO COOL - broke racing into the first bend.
MICHELLE - had to be steadied near the 900 metres due to an easing of the pace.
TAKE AFTER ME - raced wide in the early stages. Lay outwards through the final straight. Stewards questioned driver B Munro for the manner in which his gelding shifted inwards near the 900 metres causing a disruption to the two wide line. Mr Munro reported his horse to have raced lethargically when improving three wide and then lay inwards when shifting to the parked position despite numerous attempts to correct. Stewards films of the incident were inconclusive and a warning was placed on the racing record of TAKE AFTER ME. Notwithstanding this Mr Munro was reminded to exercise caution when shifting ground.
UNIQUE MARSHALL - broke just prior to the start and failed to settle losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
WHATASISTA - raced wide in the early stages. Had to be steadied near the 900 metres due to an easing of the pace. Trotted roughly in the home straight.
SUGARINSPICE - held up early and middle stages of the home straight.
ALI LINDENNY - trotted roughly near the 1100 metres.
JERRY GARCIA - broke with 900 metres to run in consequence of an easing of the pace.
SIOUX PRINCESS - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Checked and broke near the 900 metres due to an easing of the pace.
REBEL KIBBYBONES - raced keenly in the early stages and had to be steadied near the 2200 metres when awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of PRINCE TEKA.
Race 10   CLARKSON SIGNS - OFFICE & GLASS MANIFESTATIONS MOBILE PACE
IMMORTAL CHANGE - checked in the early stages having to be restrained.
ULTIMATE ROCKER - broke shortly after the start checking trailing runners. Hung outwards on the final bend. Stood down to complete one satisfactory mobile trial.
GLEN ELGIN TOMSON - when spoken to regarding the performance, trainer/driver K Barron explained that the horse had failed to handle the rise in class of today's race.
SANTANNA MACH - raced wide early stages.
STARS TONIGHT - locked wheels with the weakening FRANCO TEXAS leaving the final bend. Raced roughly between the 150 metres and the 100 metres losing ground.
FRANCO TEXAS - checked and broke in the early stages losing ground. Raced keenly middle stages. Lay inwards under pressure and locked wheels with STARS TONIGHT leaving the final bend.
