Mr Keast said the horse was not entirely comfortable in the track conditions and had noted in today's previous races horses were not improving from wider on the track. Mr Keast said he would have accepted a trail into the race but this never eventuated and he was reluctant to make an attempt for the parked position due to his belief JERRY GARCIA would not surrender that position. He said his gelding had raced lethargically on the final bend despite his attempts to enthuse the horse and that the horse generally trotted the bends poorly. He added that due to this he was reluctant to attempt to race wide in the conditions and unbalance the horse. Stewards have adjourned the matter to make further inquiries.
