Race 1   EQUINOX RESTAURANT AT FORBURY FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
ELIZA MACH - paced roughly rounding the first bend.
CUTE - hung inwards throughout the run home.
MATAU MEG - raced keenly middle stages.
BETTOR LADY - paced roughly racing into the first bend.
K MACH - Trainer K Kelly was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after presenting the filly to race without the notified pacifier. Paced roughly early in the score up. Raced wide through the early stages. Unable to maintain contact with the field from the 1000 metres. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the filly.
SHERRY BABY - broke near the 1500 metres after improving to the lead. Hung inwards and paced roughly near the 450 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance, Trainer/Driver B Munro reported the mare had hung inwards throughout and had been striking a knee.
LAYDEENWAITING - late scratching on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
Race 2   YALDHURST HOTEL MOBILE PACE
DEPEND ON WASHIE - held up final bend and until late in the run home.
MAHARAJAH - paced roughly shortly after the start and had to be steadied.
FINAL DELIGHT - raced wide early stages. Hung inwards at various stages throughout the event.
ALE ALE KAI - lay outwards passing the 100 metres and paced roughly.
TACTICAL CHANGE - Trainer B Hutton was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after presenting the gelding to race without the notified removable deafeners.
THISLADYROCKS - raced four wide from the 700 metres.
IRON WOMAN - hung inwards in the early stages of the run home and struck pylons. Junior Driver J Morrison was spoken to advisedly.
Race 3   NEVELE R FILLIES SERIES NO. 41 (HEAT 5) MOBILE PACE
ANAMAJOR - hung outwards and raced keenly middle stages.
ALLABOUTDREAMS - broke briefly in the score up after briefly getting its head over the mobile barrier arm.
REFINE - gave ground from the 500 metres.
Race 4   NZ HORSE TRANSPORT JUNIOR DRIVERS TROT
MISSALYSSA - broke shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
PAT THE MONKEY - held up final bend.
GRAND PRINCESS - hung inwards and trotted roughly through the middle stages when attempting to improve three wide without cover. Broke near the 700 metres.
OUR FOXY LADY - broke at the start.
SUNNY DEMON - broke near the 450 metres hampering trailing runners. A post race Veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had developed mild thumps. Stewards will follow up with Trainer A Malcolmson in the coming days.
ROCKNPOP - hampered by a breaking runner near the 400 metres.
MISS MOPPET - broke near the 350 metres.
STAR PRIDE - held up final bend. Junior Driver D Keast was warned for the manner he drove near the 550 metres when attempting a run where insufficient room existed.
MR FAHRENHEIT - shifted outwards home straight. Junior Driver C Jones was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
FRANCO JOSIAH - hung inwards and struck pylons final bend despite the efforts of Junior Driver J Morrison.
WHATASISTA - broke near the 1700 metres.
MICKEY JAY - paced away and had to be broken up by its Driver losing all chance.
Race 5   NORWOODS FARM MACHINERY CENTRE MOBILE PACE
ANNE BONNEY - Driver J Cox reported the filly had been striking his sulky wheels during the running.
DONEGAL CARRICKFIN - when spoken to regarding the improved performance, Trainer D Broadhurst could only advise that the horse was better suited when racing on an all weather track. Driver J Dunn admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
ARTICULIGHT - over raced middle stages. Weakened final bend.
THE GOLDEN BOY - when spoken to regarding the performance, Trainer/Driver R Holmes advised that the gelding had been unsuited to racing parked through the middle stages.
Race 6   DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS HANDICAP TROT
MAJESTIC DE FENCE - late scratching due to being lame. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
ANOTHERSUPERSTAR - broke rounding first bend. Broke again near the 2200 metres. Broke again near the 800 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Driver B Williamson advised he would be recommending gear changes prior to the mare resuming.
HELGA'S MONARCH - broke near the 350 metres.
BELMONT'S GREATEST - over raced middle stages.
DUSKY EYRE - briefly locked wheels with KIWI CRUSHER near the 200 metres.
KIWI CRUSHER - hung inwards middle stages. Continued to hang inwards rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight resulting in the mare locking wheels with DUSKY EYRE for a short distance and breaking.
ACE COMMANDER - Driver N Williamson reported that the gelding had been striking his sulky wheels during the running resulting in his tyre being punctured late in the run home.
Race 7   MARTY BANKS CAME BACK PACE
ROCKIN ROD - broke at the start. Broke near the 400 metres. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
LOMA JACCKA - raced wide early stages.
THABOYZ TOY - hung outwards in the home straight. Briefly locked wheels with GUIDO DA SIENA in the middle stages of the home straight. Driver M Hurrell was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
CAESAR'S QUEST - broke at the start. Paced roughly racing into the first bend. Raced wide early stages. Broke near the 200 metres.
SMIRKEN - hampered by a breaking runner at the start. Hung inwards for a distance through the middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
HURRICANE BANNER - raced wide early stages. Held up for clear racing room throughout the run home.
GUIDO DA SIENA - hung inwards in the middle stages of the run home and briefly locked wheels with THABOYZ TOY
Race 8   RESENE COLORSHOP JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
SANTANNA LAD - broke near the 500 metres. Junior Driver C Jones reported the gelding had struck a knee.
RUBY TUES BAY - over raced middle stages. Held up final bend and early stages of the home straight.
FUN IN THE DARK - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Paced roughly late in the run home.
AVEROSS RUSTLER - over raced throughout.
MYRCELLA - raced wide early stages.
FRINGEBENEFIT - broke late in the score up losing ground. Raced fiercely passing the 1400 metres causing Driver J Harrington considerable difficulty. Weakened from the 800 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the barrier and racing record of the mare. Mr Harrington advised that the mare had commenced to choke down and that he would no longer be persevering with the horse from his stable.
EYE CANDY - over raced middle stages.
Race 9   NEXT RACE MEETING 4TH APRIL MOBILE PACE
VALZONA - weakened final bend.
THE DOORMAN - shifted outwards in the early stages of the run home. Hung outwards for the remainder of the home straight. Stewards questioned Drivers J Cox (THE DOORMAN) and B Williamson (HOT STARFF) regarding an incident passing the 200 metres when HOT STARFF paced roughly. After hearing from both Drivers it was established that HOT STARFF had hung inwards despite the efforts of Mr Williamson and shifted down the track simultaneous to THE DOORMAN shifting outwards resulting in HOT STARFF pacing roughly for a short distance after making contact with the sulky of THE DOORMAN. Notwithstanding this Mr Cox was warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground.
HOT STARFF - hung inwards and paced roughly near the 200 metres after coming together with THE DOORMAN.
NO MORE CHANGE - Junior Driver J Campbell, with the assistance of J Cox, admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 2400 metres when shifting inwards resulting in VIGOROSO being checked and breaking. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Mr Campbell's Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 4 April up to and including 13 April 2019 (2 days) and imposed a fine of $100. Mr Campbell defended a breach of Rule 869(2) alleging that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After viewing replays and hearing the evidence, the JCA upheld the charge and Mr Campbell was fined $200.
SONIC REIGN - held up in the early stages of the run home.
SHARDAN SUZIE - slow to leave the pre-race formation however was able to take up its allocated position at the start. Held up final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
TEXAS RULER - gave ground from the 700 metres. Driver N Williamson reported the gelding to be making abnormal breathing noises during the race. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities however the on-course Veterinarian recommended further tests be carried out. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance. Stewards will follow up with Trainer B Hutton in the coming days.
RIPSNORTER - over raced through the early stages.
VIGOROSO - broke near the 2400 metres after being checked by NO MORE CHANGE.
