DANKE - A false start was declared when DANKE breached the barrier after Driver G Martin anticipated the start. Mr Martin admitted a breach of Rule 857(7)(a) in that by doing this he delayed the start. After hearing submissions on penalty he was fined $250.00 by the JCA. | |
SUPERFAST NINJA - broke negotiating the first bend before settling and breaking again losing it's chance. | |
SHPEEDY - broke shortly after the start losing it's chance. Trainer M House was fined the sum of $100 for presenting this mare with incorrect gear. | |
MACKALI - broke at the start losing it's chance. | |
FIRA - trotted roughly final stages. | |
PHOEBE IMPERIAL - trotted roughly and had to be steadied passing the 150 metres. |

RICK REILLY - raced green at various stages during the running. Improved from the running line to race outside the leader inside the 1300 metres. Eased outward to three wide with 600 metres to run and weakened approaching the 400 metres finishing well back. A veterinary examination following the event revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the colt's performance record. | |
KHAL DROGO - lay inwards severely in the score-up and again at various stages during the running. Broke when being improved outwards nearing the 1600 metres. Authorisation of fourth placing being awarded to this gelding was withheld until Stewards were satisfied this horse had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulations when in a break through the middle stages. A warning was placed on the gelding's race record. |

JAKIRA - Driver Z Butcher's feet slipped from the sulky footrest over the final stages due to his seat slipping and coming adrift with this restricting his ability to drive the mare out over the final 70 metres. A warning was placed on Trainer R Paynter's record to ensure he notifies who will be in charge of his horses when not in attendance at race meetings in future. | |

MAJORCA - lay inwards approaching the 100 metres and had to be corrected simultaneously as Driver T Macfarlane was attempting to activate the removable deafeners which was unsuccessful. Mr Macfarlane advised Stewards that with such a short period of the race to be run he felt it was in his best interests to keep the filly running in a straight line and urge it with the whip rather than attempt to activate the deafeners again. Stewards accepted Mr Macfarlane's comments. |
