Race 1   WESTERN ELECTRICAL LTD / FORDES PET FOOD TROT (STAND START)
GLOBAL FLIGHT - broke passing the 1000 metres. Lay inwards rounding the final bend. Trotted roughly and broke entering the home straight. Passing the 100 metres the gelding lashed out with both hind legs and as result one hind leg became entangled in the cross bar of the sulky, with the gelding ultimately being pulled up before falling to the track. Stood down pending one satisfactory trial. A post-race veterinary examination revealed superficial abrasions which were treated on course.
DORA EXPLORER - displayed poor barrier manners prior to the start. Broke passing the 1200 metres and came back abruptly, checking BIG IRON. Relegated to third placing by the JCA. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
ROBO TROUBLE - broke at the start losing ground.
BIG IRON - checked and broke near 1200 metres, losing considerable ground. Driver T Stratford lodged a Protest pursuant to Rule 869(A)(2) against first placing being awarded to DORA EXPLORER (D McCormick) alleging that had the interference not occurred at the 1200 metres which resulted in his horse breaking, BIG IRON would have finished ahead of that runner. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from all parties the JCA upheld the Protest and relegated DORA EXPLORER to third placing with BIG IRON being promoted to second. Lay inwards over the concluding stages.
THE POWER BROKER - broke leaving the final bend.
MAJESTIC ROLLON - broke near the 1400 metres losing considerable ground.
CRACKER HILL - hampered by a breaking runner passing the 1100 metres. Promoted from second to first by the JCA.
GAZZA GALLEON - broke near the 400 metres.
RUMAND COKE - sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running. Broke passing the 100 metres.
SOUTH PARK - lay outwards racing round the bends throughout.

ELIZA MACH - lay outwards racing into the first bend.
SNOWY DANA - paced roughly in the early stages. Weakened from the 450 metres.
MELTON MAFIA - hampered by a weakening runner passing the 450 metres.
HAZER - lay inwards racing into the first bend. Raced wide throughout.
HAMPTON - co-trainer K Barclay was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 when presenting this runner in the incorrect gear.
REBEL WITH A GRIN - trainer L Bond was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 when presenting this runner in the incorrect gear.
JACCKA TED - the Murphy blind was removed prior to the start due to the gelding warming up unfavorably. Lay outwards racing into the first bend then paced roughly and broke, checking TOMMYS REACTOR and LOCK IT IN EDDIE. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Held up leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
TOMMYS REACTOR - broke briefly in the score-up losing ground. Checked and broke racing into the first bend.
LOCK IT IN EDDIE - checked racing into the first bend. The front centre carrier strap came adrift during the running. Trainer T McGrannachan was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 when failing to affix gear so as not to come adrift.
FLAMING JIM - forced wide on the track entering the first bend. Raced very wide rounding the final bend.
Race 3   MORRIS CONTRACTING LTD FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
TULSA JACCKA - lay outwards in the score-up.
SWIFT ROBYN - trainer R Wilson was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 when presenting this runner in the incorrect gear.
VICTORIA CALLING - raced wide in the early stages. Weakened from the 600 metres. When questioned regarding the performance junior driver E Barron advised the filly had felt lethargic throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the filly's recovery in the coming days with Trainer C Barron.
BETTOR LADY - placed in restricted room to the inside of DELIGHT (T Williams) and THISEXCUSEBETTERBEIT (S Walkinshaw) near the 600 metres making contact with a track marker and breaking in consequence. Stewards spoke with the drivers concerned and after hearing the explanations tendered and viewing all available films, could not apportion blame to any one horse or horseman and therefore took the matter no further.
TARA BROMAC - weakened from the 400 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange could offer no tangible explanation. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the filly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the filly's recovery in the coming days with Trainer C Dalgety.
BETTERTHANSPRAYING - hampered by a tiring runner passing the 350 metres.
SOUTHERN RAIN - raced wide in the early stages. Raced wide rounding the final bend.
DELIGHT - lay inwards racing into the final bend.
THISEXCUSEBETTERBEIT - cleared from the Unruly for future mobile engagements.
Trainer C Barron advised Stewards on 28 March that VICTORIA CALLING has been sent for a lengthy spell.

ARTICULATE - broke briefly at the start.
PLAY BALL - paced roughly on various occasions throughout.
LUVTAHAVTIME - broke at the start losing all chance.
G T REACTOR - raced wide rounding the final bend.
LIFEOFBRIAN - junior driver M Hurrell was spoken to advisedly for the manner in which he addressed the barrier.
Race 5   DRAKE PLUMBING & DRAINLAYING LTD MOBILE TROT
NOTTINGHAM K TWO - held up for racing room rounding the final bend and early in the run home.
HORSE OF COURSE - out of position at the dispatch despite the urgings of driver M Williamson.
THUNDER BUDDY - raced wide in the early stages.
LARCH - reared when exiting the pre-race circle being out of position at the dispatch. Weakened from the 400 metres.
TOLKIEN - late scratched at 6.22 pm on Veterinary advice. A Veterinary clearance is required prior to the gelding resuming.
Race 6   WINTON NIGHT 'N DAY FOODSTORE MOBILE PACE
BLACK OPS - lay inwards slightly passing the 150 metres, locking wheels with TRIPLE VC.
IWANADANCEWITSUMBODY - held up for racing room rounding the final bend.
BETTORS HIGHLIGHT - improved wide from the 900 metres. Weakened from the 500 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver N Williamson advised he was disappointed with the effort of the filly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the filly's recovery in the coming days with Trainer B Gray.
MAGNATE MARA - raced wide in the early stages.
TRIPLE VC - held up early in the run home. Locked wheels with BLACK OPS passing the 150 metres.
Trainer B Gray advised Stewards on 28 March that BETTORS HIGHLIGHT has bent sent for a spell.
Race 7   TRANSPORT SERVICES MOBILE PACE
SPORTZSTAR - weakened from the 400 metres. Observed to be making possible respiratory noises on return to the birdcage. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with trainer W Adams in the coming days.
SAGINAW - raced wide in the early stages. Broke near the 300 metres.
FIRST SON - slightly hampered by a breaking runner at the home straight entrance.
THE BULL PEN - raced wide in the early stages.
Trainer W Adams advised Stewards on 28 March that SPORTZSTAR will be subjected to further veterinary tests and will return to trials or workouts before resuming.

IDEAL GAL - held up for racing room rounding the final bend.
LILAC STAR - raced wide throughout.
BORN TO BOOGIE - raced wide in the early stages. Lay inwards rounding the final bend.
RAKSBET - Held up throughout the home straight with driver S Ottley reporting that due to this she did not activate the removable deafeners applied to the mare.
BRIDESDALE ROBYN - out of position at the dispatch. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
DIVINIA BELLEZZA - held up in the early to middle stages of the home straight.
Race 9   SOUTHLAND VEHICLE SALES MOBILE PACE
NOTA BENE DENARIO - raced wide in the early stages.
BENIO BEN - raced wide in the early stages.
MUCHO MACHO MAN - paced roughly in the early stages.

A false start was declared when the starter released the tapes while HURRICANE BANNER was on the infield and facing in the opposite direction.

ALTIMETER- broke at the start losing considerable ground before settling.
IDEAL BREEZE - broke at the start. Over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover. Held up for racing room rounding the final bend.

TAD LINCOLN - broke at the start. Hung inwards on various occasions throughout the running.
